So to confirm, you are going to ignore the number of injuries and in stead base it on "think", feel" and "opinion" when determining the number of injury. Yeah, right, good luck with that one! I'll give that one a go next time a client asks us for some data on a gas pipe line, I'll tell them I don't have exactly figures but I feel that things are "good" or "bad". While I agree that used incorrectly stats are bad (anyone who is facebook friends with me will know I'm often ranting out figures in news articles), used correctly they prove a point. Couldn't tell you about anything that happened between 96 and 97 TBH. I only have stats for the last 4 years and back then I didn't pay enough to attention - I watched the GPs on tele and got dragged along to the odd meeting but certainly couldn't tell you who was and was not injured (I was 12 years old. I had far more important things to worry about!) So I won't comment.

TBF, starman does now get abused. It's borderline bullying but thats because we're cutting to the chase, we know we're going to end up there eventually as he's so pig headed and refuses to discuss in a civilised way. As for Sidney, he's a odd one. When he's not get angry and ranting I have plenty of time for him even if we don't agree but he all too easily loses it which is a great shame.

King's Lynn V Lakeside Tues 31st Sky 7.30
SCB replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lets dissect this one. Have a problem? Well yes, its you. See your signature. It's a pathetic dig. But time and time again we see a dodgy Lynn track on Sky and you defending. Quelle surprise here you are again. It was more than "one rider comes off" - the track was poor. How many times in 15 heats did we actually see a rider pass enough because he was better? You admit yourself on this occasion it was, "processional". What?! So was it good ro bad? You have a go at me for saying it's bad then describe it as "processional" - thats out of the starman book of "disproving your own argument". Now despite the meeting being "processional" we saw half a dozen passes because riders were making mistakes, EL riders making mistakes, Jonsson, Bech and Nilsson - all capable riders, all SWC riders for proper speedway Nations so World Class riders all making mistakes and letting Lynn riders through. Woah, don't turn this on other tracks. Other tracks don't have someone like you who constantly comes on here and in the face of a crap meetings tells us the track is brilliant. Doesn't have the team captain tell us no Sky before a meeting how great the track is before producing that dirge. You're right, there are plenty of other crap tracks but we all know that. We don't keep on about how great and wonderful they are. Frankly, I don't care how many holes and track does or doesn't have. How much shale. How much water. The weather. The trackmans inside leg measurement. I base a good track on one where there is passing because the passing rider has sued his skill to pass the rider in front of him. It's a long time since I've seen that from a meeting at Kings Lynn. It's got to the point a meeting from Kings Lynn on Sky now makes me think, "meh, so what" rather than the "brilliant I thought years ago. But many people have been critical of Poole and Coventry many times over. It's know they both have serious issues, we don't come on here defending the indefensible. Lynn was NOT "smooth and consistent" yesterday. LMAO. If you're going to post lies like that then there is little point in conversing. Did you see how the top class riders were struggling with bend 2? As for the last line. The track was the same for everyone but to Lambert credit he is the one rider who never once looked like he was struggling with it. He just carried on as normal, very impressive. -

Well if that track tonight was acceptable of the self-proclaimed best track in the country you have your answer as to why I cant rarely be bothered to travel the 50ish miles to my local track. Riders struggling around one of the bends all night, thats riders from both teams, certainly suggests there was an issue with the corner to me. As for blaming Lakeside for the lack of passing, well the Lynn riders were hardly flying past the Lakeside riders were there Bjerre was pretty pants all night but once he got out the 2nd bend in front of AJ, AJ could do nothing. -

Lakeside were bad but did you miss one of your guys going off in an ambulance after turn 2 threw him off?And it nearly had a few others off too, including AJ. I agree Lakeside didn't help but the track was still pants. Good to see a young Brit gating his way to a paid maximum in the EL though, regardless of the opposition. -

Genuinely fed up of hearing how great Lynn is only to see a crap meeting. It's not 2000 any more and Lynn's track is pants. And by pants I mean little in the way of racing and riders once again all over the place. -
For all either of us know, Gavan could have gone to every single Ipswich meeting last year, home and away. Thats a lot of speedway but he wouldn't have seen Robert Lambert live. Doesn't prove a thing. They both sit at a computer every day (based on how often they post on this forum) but I doubt if either could build a computer given all the components in a box - same goes for 95% of people. And we all spend money every day (or at least every often) but that doesn't make us all banking experts, in fact I doubt if many have even heard of Fractional-reserve banking so have no chance of explaining what it is and how it works. But, if watching something a lot makes you an expert starman should spend some time in a pub, he can learn what drunk is then!

Does anyone else love it when starman has clearly heard a new saying that week that he keep repeating it? It's almost like Seasame Street, "and this weeks saying brought to you by starman, 'I will not dance to anyone tune.'" It'll be something new next week.

I've already cheated as I have run the stats of purely for number of guests and it supports my theory the difference is negligible but the code to remove any double uppers missing due to riding for their other team will take a little longer and I was too lazy to do it last night. It does show at a quick glance though the figure show suggest there are no more injuries now than last year, the year before or even 2010. Yet amazingly even a blind man can see there are more!
-
WOW, fancy that, a rider upset at not being able to race. Give me a rider like that over one who refuses to ride, one who rides around at the back when he misses the start etc. Jason is not perfect, far for it in fact but he attitude towards racing and winning is exactly what it should be.

Interesting that Doyle is in for the Aussies. Leicester are at home to BV that day.

Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 3/4/15
SCB replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Because he's on the draft list -
From afar it certainly seems like they're making an effort. The weird thing is that most of what they're doing is thing the great unwashed have suggested on this forum for years. But hey, what do we know?! Eastbourne and Glasgow both seem to be taking a whole new approach to the sport this season, I hope both have great seasons as a result

Wolves V Coventry Monday 30th March
SCB replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
And you can predict the future and predict that Garrity would not score well and Doolan would not have bikes problems or be rubbish? Common sense says if you can use a guy who beat Woffinden around Wolves in the GB final, who scores 17 out of 18 beating Wells and Thorsell in a league meeting in 2014 then you do. Not Doolan, who has done what exactly at Wolves in the last 2 seasons? I can quite safely predict that Garrity is better at Wolves than Doolan is and would back him in a head to head race every time. Would you do the same with Doolan? -
I did question it. I'm not going to look back because I remember it at the time. I did no such thing. What I have said is "lets assume", if you prefer that can mean let pretend. It basically means, ignoring reality. Lets assume that you are correct (and thats a huge leap in reality) that drunk can only mean unable to stand up. How do you know that Darcy was not in that state? You don't know he wasn't, I don't know he was. Neither of us know. Neither of us can comment. Drunk using the link Pirate Nick used to defend you says, "Affected by alcohol to the extent of losing control of one’s faculties or behaviour:" - now the reason the FIM have a limit is because they believe that anyone over that limit is "losing control of ones faculties or behaviours" (ie, they're dangerous). they beleive anyone over that limit is, "drunk".
-
But surely you can see that the second definition fits too? the reason the FIM have a rule that says you can only have 0.1 mg/litre (or whatever the limit/units are) is because that is the amount that controls ones faculties or behaviours. They didn't just pick a random figure from nowhere. Regardless, lets assume the only definition of drunk is, "drunk so much you can barely stand up or recall your name" - how do we know Darcy was not in that state? Starman goes off on one every time I say Darcy was drunk but he (not I) know how "drunk" he was. He may have been barely drunk but equally he may have been totally blotto. But starman continues to defend and argue this.

Oi, give Doolan a chance. He's a nice guy. Can you do better? if he's reading this he might be upset. Why are you so negative? He tries hard you know. He's a gater. He's a racer. All things I have heard in the last 24 hours from other fans because I dared to suggest using our own, young, exciting, British assets who is a Wolves track specialist rather than than a random PL 7 pointer. Speedway fans = weird. -

But what if in heat one Doolan wipes out Lindgren and Wells. Nobody has considered that. He could be an inspired choice of guest! -
Bwitcher, fancy using a dictionary when you could just ask thicko* starman . *In my World it means "all round good guy" - even if in a dictionary it means, "an unintelligent person!

I notice two of my friends are attending Eastbournes first meeting next week. How do I know this? Well it popped up on my facebook wall, "XXXX is attending the events Eastbourne Eagles vs Kent Kings". THIS IS WHAT ALL CLUBS SHOULD BE DOING. Well Done Eastbourne for actually embracing social media. How many people will have seen this pop up on their facebook feed and will go along one day?

Laurence Rogers says that Doolan is at 2 and Garrity at 6. So you can deduce form that Sarj at 7 and JK at 4. It would be a shock then if the top 3 switched. So fully expect Hans, Doolan, King, JK, Bomber, Jason and Sarj in that order.
