Thats the wonderful thing - some of us have been asking questions for years on here. But what do we know eh?!
-
It does prove what a few of us have known for years though - they can't follow rules! If they're going to ignore rules agreed with the government how many of their own do you think they ignore routinely?
-
The promoters ARE the BSPA. If a promoter knows that it's illegal they should be bringing it up at a BSPA meeting so others are aware. It's the BSPA that vote in the rules that allow doubling up and guests - not individual promoters.
-
Pleased for Luke Crang. Only had two parts of a season with the Coventry Storm (one as he was signed after the season started and the the curtailed by injury) but he gas improved at a quick rate. If he continues that progress in 2015 he should be one of the to NL boys which should translate into a decent PL seasons too - an average is the 4s should be a realistic target.
-
Despite both being below the 7 point average the UKV&I expect?
-
Some serious claims there then! Especially for anyone on a multi-year visa sacked early on You have this the wrong way around! Be thankful the UKV&I have picked the off season to do it rather than choosing to do it in March-October thus meaning clubs being effected during the season. It's not UKV&Is job to make sure British Speedway runs smoothly - if the BSPA (and it's members) had done it job correctly, this would not have happened.

So prove that potential, show he's good and then come over. We're not giving out work permit for training, they're meant to be for top class performers.

What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.
SCB replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So what 3rd rate footballers that need work permits are playing in League 3? Footballers have to have played in 75% of there countries international games in the last 2 season. And that country has to be a top 70 country. -
Doesn't matter. If an EU worker is available to do the job, no work permit should be given out. Regardless of how good the work permit rider is or is not. Remember when Eastbourne had to drop Krys Cegielski for Mark Loram in 2003? No work permit for Cegeilski because there was a Brit out of work.
-
Have you read the post? I said that the list of rider I mentioned could replace the sub 7 pointers - the Pooles, Camptons, Proctors, Sedgemens, Manzares of the World. And all you do is lower the points limit by a point if there are not enough riders. But you know what, by all means argue with the government. I guarantee you'll lose, even if you're right.

Funny that as when I posted the tales on this forum about getting off on technicalities for speeding and parking this forum went into meltdown calling me all sorts. So no, it's not considered acceptable by most
-
Actually, my statement was, "It amazes me that Mason Campton is potentially going to get a 3rd season in the UK and has yet to hit a 5 point PL average. There are Brits who could do what he's doing who don't have a job." and I have listed 4 of them. There also Ash Morris and even Chris Mills depending on fitness to make it 5. As for 22 riders, take out the 7 effected EL riders thats 15. Fisher and Josh Grajczonek who I think most would accept are probably of the right level so you're down to 13 riders needing to be replaced. We need someone to replace the likes Segemen, Smith, Manzares, Skidmor, Davies, Douglas and Campton. So basically a few 5-7 pointers. But it's 13 riders basically. So here are a list of 7.... Compon, Wilson, Ellis, Bunyan, Jacobs, Morris, Wright. 7 Brits and amazingly 7 Aussies/Americans with an average under 7.00 - amazing!
-
Adam Ellis. He could do Campton job. Average is 0.01 higher too so is the same standard of rider. Bunyan has an identical average (4.66), Joe Jacobs only half a point lower. Ben Wilson 0.2 higher. So thats 4 rider I have just used to replace one Aussie.
-
Riding in the Premier League doesn't make a rider "World class" either. It amazes me that Mason Campton is potentially going to get a 3rd season in the UK and has yet to hit a 5 point PL average. There are Brits who could do what he's doing who don't have a job.

What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.

Kurtz doesnt need a work permit - mum, dad, gran on granddad must be British. The issue is that clubs are not allowed to employ work permit rider as they've been so crap at doing it in the past It's reality. How many work permit footballers do you see in leagues 1 and 2? Work permits are meant to be for top class people, I'm afraid that being PL is not top class. See the hoops even PL clubs have to sign footballers and you realise how easy speedway has had it for years. And it's OK people saying they're commonwealth, they're our international cousins etc, you have the rise of UKIP to thank ultimately - people wanting clamp down on foreigners, this is the result. -

Clearly more than the BSPA when it comes to working out who is or isn't top class. Letys be honest, theres not a single rider listed in the first post that is "World class" is there? So none of them should have a work permit. Why are we letting in rubbish riders who add very little? Grajzonek and Fisher are the only two close to it. Incidently, I think Kurtz has GB nationality in him somewhere. His brother certainly had dual Nationality. -
I think UKBA (or whatever they're now called) are basiclaly saying, if you're, "internationally established at the highest level" (as per the work permit regs) then a 7 point PL average shouldn't be an issue should it?
-
Thats a good point. In Tim Stones 10-12 years of running Newport he must have had no more than 1 rain off a season. Anyone at the Welsh Open in '02 (or maybe 03) will remember it pouring down until start time - at which point Tim said he'd get the meeting on but start 1 hour later - by about heat 10 he had dust on his track and was watering the track All morning it had poured down with rain though. The disadvantage was the track was always dusty, it held no water.
-
Well at least they're slowly getting somewhere then!
-
This is what bugs me. Why arrange for both of Roberts clubs to be riding away on the same day. Peterborough could go to Redcar on just about any of the 20-odd other Thursdays in the season and there not be a problem. So why pick that one? I get bank holiday clashes for a rider. And clashes where his second team are riding away on the riders other clubs home night but both riding away is stupid.
-
The government,. While people are voting for UKIP and wanting foreigners banned, the government have to clamp down on foreigners. That means limiting the work permit rider who come in. I dont see why people are so upset at the prospect of losing a few 5 point riders?! "I'm not going to speedway any more because Mason Campton has been forced out" - said nobody ever!
-
Thats my reading of it too, a rider has to be under 25. So 24 or less on March 15th. Lets be kind here and say Jan 1st to be consistent with the FIM - Sam Chapman was 25 on the 1st January thus not UNDER 25.
-
I'm guessing the biggest issues is getting enough heat out evenly over the full width of the track. i'm guessing it was more like a load of these, http://www.masterheaters.co.uk/gas-heaters,92.html than an actual jet.
-
How much can I stick on Poole? Coventry have gone safe, solid and dependable. Basically Lakeside! Will get 3rd or 4th and then fail in the play-off semis.
-
Think about how big an area a speedway track covers and so just how much sheeting you need. Let go low end estimate, a 300 metre track that is 8 metres wide. I've not allowed for the fact that going around the outside of the bend it'll go further so you can probably add on a good 140ish metres. So now you need 440 metres of sheet at 8 metre wide to cover a 300m track. Thats about £5-6000 based on a quick internet search. I don't get all this fancy cut to size with velcro rubbish that Swindon used. Just have a load of 30-50m sections and over lap them on the bends! Over laps means less chance of water seeping under too. The issue is, try folding up 3500-4000m2 It takes up loads of room! And time! Anyone who has ever tried to fold up a 6x4 metre sheet will tell you that. Personally if I was a promoter, I might be prone to give it a try. If it all fails at least I have a load of tarpaulin to sell on ebay
