Doyle is leading the GPs on a GM but buying one of them won't win me (or a random NL rider) a World Title any time soon so why expect it of a Gerhard? It still only as good as the rider twisting the throttle and setting it up with his mechanic.

Brilliant, an out of form young Brit dropped for an our of form Pole who the Poles don't want. And we wonder why we get spat out the back in the SWC. I could understand if it was someone better, but is it?

TBF I seem to remember the plan was not to have the fastest engine that was going to win GPs and World Titles but to have an engine that was good enough for the run off the mill league rider that would save them money over a couple of season. Well so far it's won more than expected (even if it is just a single GP) and it would appear that its saving riders money and doing what it promised. If others want to spend loads on it to make it faster well thats up to them but thats not its purpose.

Stats do suggest that this is a walk in the park. But Rye have a team of Wolverhampton track specialist. It will hopefully be closer than people expect and it's never difficult having to watch Harris, Nicholls and Robbo at Monmore.

Speedway World Cup 2017
SCB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Craig Cook has a bad meeting and the Brit say, "give him a chance bless him. He's not got the experience" yet go to Poland and see one of their riders have a bad meeting and he crowd have 50 foot banners made up for the next week calling the rider a pussy and they boo, jeer and throw stuff at the riders. As yourself why the Poles win and we don't. Steve Worralls interview after that last place that a few raved about, said he was, "pleased". You should never be pleased with 4th. Take positives from it but not be pleased. We Brits have the wrong mindset. We should go into theee meetings thinking we've won't it. Over the last 20 years the Swedes have been no better than us but they have four World Cup titles and all 4 were in meetings where frankly, before beat 1 nobody had them down as favourites. In 20 years I make it we've only beat Sweden twice and both times in the U.K.! -

I have no issue with critisism of the BSPA, I have no issue with refusing to ride because they're not doing things properly. I've said a number of times (including this week) that the BSPA should be doing what Woffy says as he has won World Titles so knows what it needs. But there is no need for him to be a twit towards the fans. -

Ask yourself why the fans are saying the things they are about him. Ask yourself why the fans are criticising him. Ask yourself why the fans are pissed off with him. The fans didn't wake up one day en masse and randomly decide to start on our best (in terms of talent and success) speedway rider for a generation, maybe ever! Theres a reason for it. -

Only riders I've ever booed is Nicki because its what we do. Love to hate him. But otherwise you're right, silence is much better. Means you don't care and his being an antagonistic dickhead isn't working. -

The guy is a dick and is doing all he can to antagonise British fans. It like he wants to be hated. Sad thing is if he was not such a knob his on track success could very easily make him one of the greats and most well liked British riders ever. -

The issue with Lambert is he's doing what Cook did. Happily plodding along in the PL (Championship), ok fair play he is having a go in Sweden and Poland but doesn't scoring big points in the PL give him too big a sense of self worth? The making of Doyle was having the PL safety net taken away. Maybe Cook and Lambert need the same. About 4 years ago the BSPA brought in a "dobling up for 2 years only" rule, amazingly 2 years later they dropped it. Had they not then Cook and Lambert would be riding full time EL (Premiersip) now. Cook I have a little sympathy for, it was one bad meeting after two great meeting in the GP qualifiers but scoring easy points on the weekends can't help them step up when it comes to the SWC. Why can the Swedes, Russians and Latvians step up when they have to but Brits rarely do? People are getting excited about Worrall and he did a little better than expected but he's still some way off being where we need him to do - but in his defence his career is moving forward year after year (that one terrible year just before the draft aside) and seemed to change his lines and style as the track changed tonight. Anyway, good to hear Rosco say he's got a few meetings lined up for us in Poland in 2018. edit - I feel Ive been a bit harsh in Worrall in this post reading it back. He did a good job tonight., He should be congratulated for that, he shoved his middle finger up at those who doubted his team place this week. And Im pleased for him. He was always the obvious choice. -
Many thanks for running the competition again! With my record on these forum games and my winnings from the bookies I can only assume the BSF memebrs are making a fortune as you're all so much better than me but I make a good profit! If you're not gambling you all damn well should be!

Do people still think Roscos tactics were correct? We have no tactical options tonight. Had Lambert been in reserve and one of King/Nicholls been in the team we could have at least given them a couple of rides rather than Cook and Lambert. -

Certainly makes it more interesting! The SWC is always a bit like this, you get riders doing things they shouldn't do. -

Ageeed. On form (last 10 Premiership meetings) the Aussies top 7 are Doyle, Batch, Masters, Morris, Kurtz, Fricke, Holder (Chris)and then Jack. Using away averages Josh G is higher. AFAIK, Jack Holder doesn't rise in Sweden or Poland for them figures to be relevant. http://speedway-stats.co.uk/RiderForm/10/2017/1 -
Within 14 years newspapers will be dead. The only way they'll survive is online. And it certainly won't be by charging people a subscription as weirdly people like to have something physical when they pay for something despite not wanting to buy papers. Speedway Star might cope as its current average aged 60year old readership will be 80 and refusing to switch to online sources.

They were punished, of course it was cheating. If it wasn't cheating then they wouldn't have been punished. We all know its a rule after Hancock was excluded in a GP for not trying. -
I'll go with the following please Dudek and Zmarzlik Lambert and Cook Lindback and Lindgren Emil and Kudriashov

In the days of Crump, Adams, Wiltshire and Lyons I lived the Aussies but since that lot retired they've been replaced by a bunch of moany, arrogant gits. So I loved tonight -

You advised someone to drive past Cardiff to Bridgend to catch a train to Cardiff. That will never not be mad! -

The Aussies have Kurtz, Holder, Fricke and Morris. What do Denmark and Sweden have? -
I'll try and make it a bit more interesting by picking Kudriashov in place of Laguta please.
-
I did notice. I even picked Troy rather than Holder to try spice things up. I'm now hoping for a Holder meltdown and Troy to think he's back at that Danish GP he scored 20 in. Sadly when it come to the others there wasn't anything I could do.

Because you never see riders doing anything like that anymore...... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10206483731073755&set=a.10206483730313736.1073741828.1284136682&type=3&permPage=1
