  1. To some this will sound pathetic but trust me, that a poor choice. Most of the guys working in TV will have come off the back of days, weeks even recording and reversing for 12-14 hours a day on something else. The chance for a decent meal comes from catering and it's often bloody good. You also need runners bringing you tea, coffee, sweets and biscuits because you often don't even have to time to run off to the toilet in the run up to a show as your checking everything and can't run off during a show as you're either working or need to be there should something fail. Teams, people and companies will soon learn this and won't work where corners are being cut like this. What you'll then get are the poor contractors and companies that rather ban rehersing and testing will be off to buy food and gets drinks. If they're doing that the attention to detail slips and it's why to end up with a shoddy production.
  2. Typical speedway response. It's a rubbish response. If people don't criticise things don't get better. The BT Sport direction and camera work is poor. It needs to be said. The graphics have got better since they started which is something a few people criticised early on so rent do listen. The people dong these jobs won't, like speedway riders, cry if you say they're doing a bad job. The people in TV are big boys and girls who take criticism and feedback and act in it to make it better. Personally I've never work with so many perfectionist, so criticise l and they WILL make it better.
  3. This Swindon team is pretty meh. But to have gone 11 out of 11 and be top of the league shows how well they're all performing and how a team is more that the sum of it's parts. Rosco is working some serious magic and for that I'm more impressed than if they had just been a great team from the start. Fair play to all 9 of this season Robins and the great Rosco. edit - Musielak was an inspirational signing. But he was always going to do well, I'm not shocked about that. Bellego, and BWD to a lesser extent have impressed me.
  4. Which should have also resulted in a ban.
  5. Exactly. Lynn had to go to Somerset on a GP weekend without Holder. And BV go on a non-GP week when Bjerres not available. Why were the two not just swapped from the start?
  6. Everything I know about Malcolm Simmons I think he was a bit of a twit, Matt Ford is a cheating git. Hancock cheated. It's as simple as that. You was excluded for race fixing. He got away lightly.
  7. Try fixing a result in any other sport. See if you're seen as a nice guy or a fraud
  8. Erm, he did ride. In Poland. After he was replaced at Poole due to a season ending injury!
  9. The irony being that it was (and still is) BV fans wailing about Woffy. They say be careful what you wish for!
  10. Best thing Buster Chapman has ever done. Shame he signed them in the first place really but fair play of dumping them eventually and the perfect timing of it
  11. Shows how strong British Speedway is to have a team 6th in the league able to field such a rider in reserve.
  12. If I was Sedgmen I'd score 000 in every meeting for the rest of the season 😂😂
  13. Lets also not forget that for Wolves to gain from Woffys average, they had to suffer while it drop a couple of seasons earlier. BV didn't have the same hardship with Tungate!
  14. In answer to the question, I'm guessing he's probably not but everything has a value to everyone. If a club is willing to pay astronomical amounts Crumpy might fancy half a dozen meetings in Poland on a Sunday. But does he want to be riding 2 or 3 times a week all over the UK for a lot less? I doubt it.
  15. So we're saying Middlo doesn't have the Midas touch? That can't be true, starman says he does. Weird. BTW, it's what I thought too. IT's almost as if when things start to go wrong Middlo doesn't know how to fix things. Unlike, as you say, Rosco, who has done it at Coventry and Swindon a few times now.
  16. How can a team that started with Kurtz and Klindt be this bad? This season I bet more more than 10 riders have increased starting averages, Poole have two of them! Throw in Shanes small increase and Holder doing ok, why has it gone so wrong for Poole? Genuine question, as it all seems so odd to me. On paper this Poole team was/is bloody great.
  17. Maybe BV could replace Kenneth with Lasse and hope WestGordon1884s mates don't realise that they have a Bjerre for a Bjerre. Weirdly, when I explain the points limit to people they seem to like the idea of trying to stop one team just spending the most to sign the top 7 riders. When I explain about it's about signing 7 improving riders and not just the 7 best riders it goes down well. And team can keep the same 1-7 Coventry won the KOC in 2006, the same 7 started 2007, they did make a like for like change that season but that was out of choice. They won the league, cup and Craven Shield that season. BV could have just dropped Zagar this winter but still kept the other 6, that was their choice.
  18. Theres a great kebab shop on Caroline Street (Chippy Alley) that I'm told does a nice salad too if you don't fancy a kebab or pizza like your mates.
  19. In the words of the illustrious Ronald McDonald. Do do do do do, I'm loving it
  20. Thankfully the streamers haven't quite caught onto how good "The Boss" is just yet I'm in Media City, google maps suggests 15-22 minutes. With any luck things will go well and I'll be out by 7.
  21. Opps! Fixed Also, thanks guys. I'll just have to run very fast to the car/van and drive as fast as possible (within the law)
  22. How good are BV at starting on time? I'm working in Salford and have a current wrap time of 7.15, so will the 7.30 start mean in reality a 7.35 parade and a 7/45 tapes up? Or do BV start on time? After my moaning the last few years I bet BV start on time for this one!
  23. I've sat bottom tier bend 2, Middle on bend 3, the back straight and coming out of bend 2 and the upper tier in all sorts of places. And for me, nothing beat the top tier. If you can get front row of middle tier it's ok but I like jumping up and down while watching sport so felt awkward having to stay sat down. The bottom tier IMO, is rubbish, its quieter and less atmosphere but if you want quieter then maybe the bottom tier is the answer? The other option is go top tier and if you get pissed up Poles, a kid with an airhorn or something else annoying you then just move to somewhere better - theres whole blocks with nobody in! In fact about 4 years ago we were sat right at the back of a block and my niece didn't like it, so we moved to the front row of the top tier in line with the start gate - we explained our thinking to the stewards and they agreed it was ok but we were sat in the parade bikers seats so may need to move, when they did come along they had no issue with us being sat that. Probably the best seats as a compromise of everything for me - lower down, nobody in front of us, close enough to people for noise/atmosphere. And no queue at the bar
  24. Newport vs Somerset in the BLC in 2003. Maik Groen didnt turn up for Somerset so they needed a rider, Brendon MacKay was their number 7 so they used his mechanic/girlfriends Jessica Lamb. She could slide to be fair but certianly rtode within her self, to the point that in heat 8 Chris Schramm fell off, got back on and passed her for 3rd!
  25. Jason Lyons tried it in the early 2000s too.
