  1. Agreed. Theres a lovely photo on twitter of him in McDonalds with a young fan after the meeting at a time when other riders were off out getting a nice nourishing meal in a nice restaurant. What a star!
  2. Say the guy who wants to work for the BBC, talking about the guy that works for the BBC. Sound to me like you're jealous of my success Sweetie xx
  3. Have you EVER had anything even the tiniest bit positive to say about anything in speedway other that Poole, Matt and Middlo?
  4. Is the FA the football managers association? If not, you're argument is flawed. So take the regulatory and oversight role off the BSPA then. Thats the real issue, not that a promoter is in charge of the group of people that exist to represent the promoters. Sure, tell yourself that. He didnt make things awkward because the "wrong" people were trying to run things? He didn't try and steal Max Fricke? Sure. As for Coventry/Peterborough. He was given both clubs Sky money to move into the EL. He didnt give a rubbish about Coventry or Peterborough then did he?
  5. Not the case. It's that Nick can't be reintroduced to the team until after 28 days. Nothing to do with Thomas. No rider if dropped can be reintroduced within 28 days.
  6. It was over half full. The backstraight plus bends 3 and 4 were pretty much full. As was the lower and middle tier all that way around so that's over half. And the capacity is only 62k for speedway anyway. Speedway fans really can't do maths can they? Empty eh? https://twitter.com/steph_jane_webb/status/889418776520863744 So assuming there was NOBODY on bends 1&2 and the backstraight that photos must show 20-25k. So easily 15-20k people in the bottom two tiers on bends 1&2 and the backstraight.
  7. Thorsell and Wolves should be told if Thorsell is not at BV tonight (the original fixture) then not to bother turning up for a month. Rules rules are rules, you can't break them just because you signed a contract that you knew would mean a conflict.
  8. No they're not banned. Flammable air-horns are banned. Non-flammable ones are allowed. So the attendance was 40,234. So a bit more than the 32 and 35k some people suggested, I'll claim my 42k guess was pretty accurate.
  9. It only takes for each of the top 3 to have a score of 4 or 5 and one of Zmarzlik, Woffy or Emil to score 21 and suddenly you have them up in there battling. Obviously the top 3 looks like providing the winner now but a crash in a GP or bottling it in a later round could just allow someone else to sneak in. The two Poles will have huge pressure on them, but will it being shared be what they need? Something about Dudek I don't think he'll do it - so get your money on him now!
  10. I find Greg dull and the gushing over him nauseating but it would be diabolical not to offer him a wild card if he only just misses out. I don't think he will miss out though.
  11. So if we had a Speedway Fans Association you'd suggest not having a fan as chairperson? Or the SRA shouldn't have a rider as chair person? It makes perfect sense for the chairperson of the BSPA to be a member of the BSPA
  12. 3900, actually. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/districts/poole/8437263.Speedway_stadium_chiefs_explain__fiasco__over_tickets_for_final/
  13. Previous years have been 35-45k depending on your source. I thought this year was quite full compared to other years so would put it slightly in the higher end. So I'd guess 42k A half empty 72k stadium is still 36k and I think it was over half. I know some people moan about Cardiff but for me it's brilliant. I love it, I've loved them all. It's just magic to turn up at a speedway meeting with 40000 others, see a reasonable meeting that is guaranteed to be on (we'll gloss over it bearly being off about 4 years ago). I just couldn't imagine not going. It's brilliant. It has its faults, it has things that can be improved but the argueembt that it's too expensive baffles me. I've never paid more than £30 for a ticket and for me, that's great value for money. I've paid that for almost every event I've attended in the stadium - the exception being a very early football game that they FAW heavily subsidised. As for cost, what do people want? Move it to London but I work in London 1 week a month and I pay £150-190 a night for hotels, so is it really expensive paying £100 in Cardiff? Bear in mind if you move it to London then you're also not getting a £3 pint but you're paying £5 and every meal is 20-30% more expensive too. Maybe I'm a little biased as I don't have to pay for a hotel for Cardiff (just £80 with of taxis over two days) but I don't get this, "expensive" thing at all. If you want cheap drive down on the day, pay £25 for a ticket, enjoy the speedway and drive home. It's cost you about £8 more than standing in a gloried field in grass banking at 80% of UK stadia. And how often when you go to an way meeting anywhere do you stay over? 32 year old Shawn wakes up on GP day and gets as excited as 10 year old Shawn did xmas day. It's bloody brilliant.
  14. Prices? It cost £25 for a ticket yesterday. £25 for a speedway GP, £25 for an event in one of the best stadiums in Europe. How much do you think they should charge? Why would anyone going to Leicester, Wolves, Birmingham, Manchester or Sheffield go via London? Cardiff goes directly to Birmingham and Manchester. Once in Birmingham you minutes from Leicester and Wolves and certainly closer to Sheffield than going via London. It's Cardiff, not Timbuktu! I'll admit the extra hour would make a huge difference for any further than London (where very few speedway fans are based) and the Midlands.
  15. Someone might want to tell Kings Lynn, Danny Ayres and Simon Lambert this.
  16. If Swindon want to throw this meeting to give Rye House a chance of catching Poole for 4th that'd be nice
  17. Notice you didn't disagree with the bit about what's (not in) your head
  18. Maybe Craig Cook can sign for Swindon and Poole next week too to supplement his earnings? And Wayne Rooney is going to play for Leicester and Oldham too this season. I really don't see the issue with sports teams making sure that their signed riders are available to them at all times.
  19. I'd always loved watching Neil anyway but getting to watch him every week in his couple of season at Newport was a joy.
  20. Typical Poole, things go wrong and the fans leave. The ones who stay boo the riders. It happened in 2009, was brilliant laugh at one man and his dog booing Bjarne Pedersen
  21. Where has this Swindon team got this run of form from? They that good? Or have they got lucky riding teams at the right time? Good luck to them! Always nice to see an under dog do well
  22. Remember when BV called a meeting off for no reason and blamed a burst pipe? They got a fine and point deduction, will Kings Lynn get the same?
  23. My work contract has an exclusivity clause. Most do.
