No it doesn't. They have play-offs for promotion but the team top of the league wins the league and gains "automatic" promotion. In England anyway, Scotland may be a little different. Play-offs are still good though IMO.

It's cheating. But to some the punishment is worth it. Patrick Head (F1 technical guy) once said (and I'm paraphrasing here), "They make the rules, it's my job to push them to the limit and beyond if I can".

The riders listed are not there to make the grade. They're there to make up the numbers so those who will make the grade have someone to beat. What was the alternative?

Ive never once heard anyone condemn Joe Screen doing it in the race when Mark Loram won the World Championship. He clearly shut off on the 2nd bend and let Mark pass him to get the 2nd he needed to guarentee the title.

Where is it in the rules that a rider can be retrospectively excluded for dangers riding? The only rule I can find says, "070.10.13 Foul or dangerous riding The Referee shall immediately disqualify any rider team whom he considers indulges in foul, unfair or dangerous riding. A rider, who, having started in a heat does not make an honest attempt to ride to the best of their ability, as judged by the Referee, shall be guilty of an offence, which may entail disqualification from the heat or a penalty. There shall be no protest or appeal against a Referee's decision to declare a heat completed or as to his statement of foul, unfair or dangerous riding. If, in the opinion of the Referee, such conduct produces an advantage to the rider (or team) involved or affects the chances of one or more riders, the Referee may stop the heat and order a re-run. If any rider is unable to cross the finish line as a result of foul, unfair or dangerous riding on the part of another rider who, in consequence, has been disqualified, the disadvantaged rider shall be deemed to have finished the heat in the placing held immediately before the foul, unfair or dangerous riding and allowing for any advancement in placing following the disqualification of the guilty rider. A similar system shall apply for a rider/sidecar team who, in the opinion of the Referee, has deliberately laid down his machine or has left the course in the interest of safety."

My only issue with using Lambert is he was poor in the Under 21 SWC semi-final.

Tell you what, you show us Middlos better record then. Then I will admit that Middlo should have the job. Middlo has made 2 podiums, one or Poole and once at Reading. His record is as follows... 2001 - 6th 2002 - 7th 2003 - 5th 2004 - 2nd 2005 - 4th 2006 - 3rd 2007 - 4th 2011 - 6th 2012 - 6th 2013 - 7th When you look at that record, Middlo was pants. Rosco is already out doing him!

I dont hate all thing Poole and yes I am generally anti-Poole because I think theres a lot to be anti-Poole about. I certainly don't like Middlo as a person (just from reading his twitter and comments like "it's what all kids do isn't it" when Ward took drugs and evaded the Police FFS!) and rate him very lowly as a team manager. We're constantly told he can turn poor riders into good but nobody has ever given me the name of a rider he's done that with. Yet I can give you the name of Jason Doyle. 4 seasons at Poole, going nowhere. Left to work with Rosco, then Morris and now Norris Allen and look at him. World Cup star. As for 4th, it's not great but look at it realistically, Who should we be beating and who should we be losing too. We are realistically not going to beat Poland, Denmark, Australia or a full Russian team (I actually think if Russia sent their best 4 riders they could win the SWC) but we should be scrapping with Sweden while beating the Czechs, Americans and Latvians. Last year we lost to the last 3 names teams plus Sweden, this year we beat them! Surely you can see how last year, finishing 7th was epic failure (to quote the kids) while 4th was sort of what we'd expect. What we have to do now is make sure we build on it. Don't go, "4th, yeah, thats alright" we now have to say, next year 4th is the minimum target but the year after we want 3rd and the year after the win. Be realistic, we're not going to win the SWC today or next year. Lets get a team, with King, Cook, Stea,d the Worralls, Lambert, Garrity etc out to Denmark, Sweden and Poland to race. Frankly even Germany and Italy would do - lets just try different tracks. Did you know Craig cook has raced 1 meeting outside the UK!!!! He should not be using the SWC to get that experience. He should be whoring himself out to German promoters looking for meetings out there each Sunday so he gets to try different tracks and then speaking to Polish clubs and offering his services in any challenge or individual meetings they have. 4th was an OK result. Rosco used his joker correctly (admittedly I would have probably put him in for Steads 2nd ride but minor thing really). I would have also taken Stead out of one of his last 2 rides and put Harris and probably even King in - at least they looked like possibly getting a point - unlike Stead who stood somewhere between little and no chance.

They gave Ruml a go because 30 year old Fisher was injured and they have nobody else. Who do you think they left out to be able to use Ruml?
