Zabiks biggest issue was 2 massive injuries. That said, he spent some time at Poole, you'd have thought magic Middlo and Fantastic Ford would have got the best out of him.
-
Ivan won a lot down to psychology. People knew you couldn't beat Ivan, Ivan was a pro. But in that race the Poles beat Ivan, wound him up and he made a silly mistake. Ivan threw that away.
-
Is this confirmed? Because this tied with the 7 year deal rumour would be madness.
-
On what basis did Grieves deserve one? Moved around between Glasgow, Wolves, Berwick, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Redcar throughout his career.

You don't have to be good at something to know someone else sucks at it.

starmans not average anything.

And thats his prerogative, I'm not knocking his opinion, he may be right. But my point is just that ex-riders don't always make great ideas men. Ove Fundin once suggested make tracks more bumpy and rutty to produce better racing. Easily one of the greatest riders of all time, easily one of the most stupid ideas ever. Ole Olssen was another of he greatest rider ever but he gave us how many years of rubbish slick-fests in the GPs?

Nobody has said he should have no opinion. everyone is entitled to an opinion. But just because he could ride a speedway bike better than most 30-odd years ago doesn't mean he knows how to make the sport a success now.
-
What makes PC any better at knowing what is good for speedway than anyone else? Yes he could ride a bike but that doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about. He's right about jumping the start though.

Tai Woffinden - 2415 Nick Matthew- 272 Ben Skinner- 260 Rachel Atherton- 242 Gary Hunt - 83 So it looks like Tai didn't just win it, he trounced it. I got this by counting the number of times each of the nominees hashtags were mentioned on twitter, so the votes are easily verifiable by anyone - thats the beauty of a twitter vote rather than email, phone or carrier pigeon. -

I have no issue with the sport being labeled a minority sport, because that is what it is. The sport gets all the coverage is deserves from the BBC. -
Somerset dropped a rider averaging 4.5, brought in one who got closer to 7. They went on to win the Premier League. Hindsight says what they did made perfect sense. I agree at the time it was an odd move.
-
I seem to remember he was sacked from Newport for bitching about the club with another rider. Certainly the rumour at the time.

Premier League Doubling Up Or Is It Doubling Down.
SCB replied to spin king's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just be informed by someone else that actually, PL takes priority, unless the EL clubs owns the riders. So Plymouth do get priority over Barker. it also means Recar get priority over Lawson - otherwise Spin Kings list is correct -

I think you have Barker wrong, Birmingham will take priority as he'#s been there a few season, this is his first year (back) at Plymouth. other wise that makes sense. -
Matt Ford has let the cat out the bag, we all know we're getting speedway on Sky. Like last year with the GPs just sit and wait.

Neither had I but now I have. Next time I'm channel hopping I'm more likely to watch a bit of cliff diving knowing we have a World Champion contender. If the cliff diving people do the same with speedway it can only be a good thing. A bit of cross sport promotion can only be good for all the small sports involved. -

TBF, even if it is a little confusing, I think it's fair and I like it. -
At the end of the day, he chose to become Australian. Therefore you'll forgive me if I don't get upset that a foreigner can't double up while there are Brits out of work. Yes the BSPA may have messed during the season mentioned (and more fool them!) but would it have killed Nick to wait a year?

Premier League Doubling Up Or Is It Doubling Down.
SCB replied to spin king's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Apparently if the rider is your asset you have priority. If not its down to who the rider has raced for longest. So Coventry have priority over Fisher as hes a Bees asset but they play second fiddle to Workington on Howarth as he's a Comets asset. Yet Jason Doyle is not the asset of either Leciester or Somerset so as Jason has raced for Somerset previously but not for Leciester then Somerset get priority. Looking at that list the only three I see being an issue are Steve Worrall, Kennett and Starke as they all have new EL and PL clubs for 2014. -
Rules are if you ride in a pro-league you come in on a 7. Did Kurtz ride in the Danish League? Yes or no? As for unproven, in his Danish League meetings he beat Kenneth Bjerre and Kenneth Hansen. So maybe a 6 point EL average would be fairer?
-
Why are other promoters accepting this? He should be a 7.
-
How many meetings has Aussie speedway given him?
-
I'm sure when I went back in about '05 we parked up in Portsmouth, paid about £25 (and the average PL price was about £12 at the time) and that got us the Ferry, train up the pier and bus there and back. We missed the bus back because it went as soon as the heat 15 finished and nobody had told us it would leave quite so quickly but that aside couldn't complain about the price. Nice little stadium and club house too from what I remember of it all them years back.

The Danish license is irrelevant. The only time it matters is that 4 Americans come in on 5's. It doesn't matter what your license or passport, if you have ridden in a pro-league (so Denmark) then you come in on a 7. If a Brit went and rode in Denmark and then come back, he'd be a 7.
