Should be thankful he's a 5 and not a 7 as the rules say.

No, the riders pulled out as they didn't want to be reserve. So after trying all the riders who were eligible the staging country were asked to pick reserves. They picked Craig Cook who said no, so they asked Bomber who said yes. Then, amazingly when Zagar pulled out, them same riders who didn't want to be reserve wanted to ride in the meeting but it was too late then, by being reserve it meant Bomber was next in line.

Sgp/bsi And Sec/one Sport It Is War Now
SCB replied to manchesterpaul's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Gollob can't have the place now. You lot are phenomenal. You moan that riders who decided they didn't want to be reserve for the GP challenge should have been offered the place in the 1-16 and NOT the reserve (completely negating the point of a reserve). And now you're saying a rider who has quit the GP's should get his place back now things have changed. He didn't want it a week ago he can't have it now. I turned down a job in 2008, do you think I can go back and ask them for it back now as my circumstances have changed? -
Riders get dropped for no reason all the time. Lemos not the first and won't be the last. In fact I doubt it's the first time he's been dropped and it's not been his fault.

Katajisto score 0 point from 1 ride in 1 meeting in 2013. He rode in 2013.
-
Life is unfair. Surely an extra club able to ride against them means extra income....
-
Mark Blackwell did as you suggest, rode in the Danish League in the late 90s and when he wanted to ride PL was told it would have to be as an 8 point rider as the rules say. I don't see why it would be any different now. The rules says, GP rider or SWC final = EL 8. Rode in a pro-league then it's PL 7. Rode NL then it's a 3, otherwise it's 5. Henning was a 7

Tai Woffinden Versus Range Rover Sport (autocar)
SCB replied to JT's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Agreed, I think he looks a mess but at 29 I appear to be old before my time. The few people I have asked say he looks cool, in fact my 24 year old sister often asks how he's doing and her boyfriend thinks he "kool" or whatever the cool word for cool is these days. He's certainly got the sport noticed far more in the last few months than anyone or anything had in the last 10-15 years! -
20k? Haven't Sky just agreed a new deal? Surely that'll cover the 20k easily. The IoW could then "rent" the air fence off the BSPA so after say 10 years the airfence is paid for. Owing to the fact the IoW have 9k they have paid the rent for 4.5 years already.

The Darren & Sharon Boocock Speedway Scholarship.
SCB replied to marcusthepom's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Marcus, if life throwing crap at you is failing then everyone has failed. What you have done already for the young Brits on the previous tours proves you have not failed at all. Theres been a blip and I'm sure everyone involved understands that. All the best for your recovery and fingers crossed you're in a position to continue with the scholarship in the future -
Well reading all that you'd never guess sportowefakty is the SECs media partner would you? Isn't it Gollob that has spat on polish speedway here and not the FIM? And were the Poles saying the same about a couple of Poles qualifying for the World Under 21s when they started the meeting as reserves? No.
-
I'm very much behind the Bomber for the GPs campaign and can't wait to get up at 3am or whatever it is to shout at my tele for him during the first GP in March but this post did amuse me.
-
Buczkowski had already withdrawn by then. Once he'd withdrawn as he didn't want the reserve spot he could hardly lay claim to the place in the starting 16.
-
It matters not when Zagar pulled out. Harris was already first reserve by then. The first reserve would have been Pavlic as of the day after the last semi. If he chose not to do it then it would have been offered down to various riders from th qualifiers. Nobody wanted it. They asked Craig Cook who said no and then Chris Harris who said yes. So Bomber was 1st reserve, then a rider withdrew (Zagar) so why the hell should all those who withdrew in the previous couple of weeks get a phone call? Chris Harris was first reserve as all the others had pulled out.
-
No they couldn't, this is the point. Any other team would have read the rules, realised he was a 7 and probably decided not to sign him.
-
So just to confirm, nobody wanted to be reserve as that might mean not riding. Then Chris Harris agreed to do it. Suddenly a rider pulls out and all those who turned down the place before want it? Sadly, it's too late by then as Bomber had accepted it following their rejection. They had the chance, the turned it down, bomber took it and has subsequently got lucky that one of the Gp riders has quit giving him a place. Proof you should never give up maybe?
-
fair enough, I just assumed they'd go to next in line but if that's the rules then fine.
-
My irony meter just exploded!
-
People moan and bitch all the time about Bomber and his wild cards, he qualifies by right and people still moan! If no Emil then it's Troy meaning Danny King is 2nd reserve
-
Ah the old, "he's a nice lad", all speedway riders are, we're constantly told that. Emilalis comments were a bit harsh but in the scheme of things, if we never see him again I doubt many will lose any sleep

Air Fence Safety Performance - Research?
SCB replied to Elephantman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
thats the same theory that says remove air bags from cars bad out metal spikes on the steering wheels. Spikes for steering wheels!! -
Only speedway fans could possibly think that signing a good team is a risk as they may get injured. Yeah, play it safe, sign a rubbish team.

I for one am looking forward to seeing a time machine. -
Nah. You get, "I like cars too"
-
He won't even start at reserve. His 5 point average is higher than Starke, Wrights and Todds
