Some of us didn't buy tickets because we guessed being opening night there would be teething problems. But my god this is the teething problem or all teething problems! Even cynical little me is shocked at home bad this farce has become! I actually feel so sorry for the BV fans right now.

The thing is, his average is now 5.7 He will make a mockery of that as a second string. As we can fit in a 7 point man for Woryna and form next week that can be a man off the heat leader list too, thats the root I'd go down. Nope, King is just NOT a heat leader in this format. Was dreadful for Birmingham as one and did a poor job last season as one. Regarding Bates going into the 1-5, his average is exactly 4, as is Woryna. But as on the last set of GSA Woryna was higher he stays higher for riding order purposes. So Bates stays in reserve.

The rulebook does NOT take this into account at all. The only thing it says is the rider above gets a ride. So according to the rules only the reserve can take the R/R rides but logic dictates that Fricke gets one too. I bet nobody in officialdom has asked the question or even through about it. edit - just tweeted Lemo and Rosco to ask.

King's Lynn V Poole 27/4/16 7.30pm (skysports)
SCB replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Was just about to point this out. Ellis and Newman will get new averages from their first 2 home (so not last night vs Coventry), Swindon away and Coventry away this Friday. They will become effected from next Friday (the 30th), according to my maths Adam has to score more than 3 less than Kyle (so either more than, the same or within 3 points) to go into the 1-5 and either one of them is almost certainly going to be a heat leader baring a disaster (for them) of epic proportions - which as a Bees fans I hope happens but don't expect to happen. If Adam had any sense he'd sit behind Kyle in both reserve races if he can and try and drop another 2 points more than Kyle as he'll score nothing as a heat leader but will carry on scoring big as a reserve! Lose a couple of point in one meeting to gain many more in later meetings. And this is why speedway fans stop going. -
So certain riders refused to do it. I refuse to jump out of a plane but I don't propose stopping those that want to do it from doing it. I refuse to watch the only way is essex but I don't see them removing it from the tele because I don't like it. Bring it back and anyone who doesn't want to do it can have that discussion with their team manager when the time comes. Meanwhile those who want "do it for the fans" can do!

Well, those of us who were slagged off as pessimist, naysayers and the like are looking pretty spot on now. Notice how those who called us these names have all gone into hiding recently?!

Why did they get rid of it? I think I can remember everyone I ever saw, the rider in the the heat and the effect it had on the meeting because it was so great watching a rider trying to come from 15 metres. You had 4 possible outcomes basically. 1. Opposition rider tries it, opposition rider succeeds, you just seen a great rider where a rider has had to come form 4th. Brilliant, well done. 2. Opposition rider tries it, opposition rider fails. You laugh, hahaha he's not as good as he thinks. 3. Your rider tries it, he fails. Ah well, nothing lost, the reserve or second string he replaced was going to come last anyway. 4. Your rider tries it. Your rider wins! WEHAY! What a hero, you go mad. I've seen all 4 and all 4 lead to various memories. Newport doing it at Swindon in heat 11 against a heat leader and getting the 8-1 then going on to win (Newport couldn't win at home so to win away was a shock!) after some mouthy Swindon fan giving us rubbish up to then. He skulked off when Wato come form 15 metres I've seen Chris Harris do it at Swindon too but also "fail" a couple of times (he still got 2nd so fail is harsh) I remember Carl Stonehewer doing it at Newport, catching the two Newport riders by bend 3, diving under them through the infamous Newport 3rd bend crater and ended up in the fence and having the mother of all strops and stomping up to the referees box. But also remember the greta Moggo doing it for Stoke at Newport and getting the 6 points and the Newport fans giving him quite a cheer for it - despite being the opposition. Bring back the 15 metre gold double tac sub!

Agreed. 5 year old me love Joe Screen because he did a whole lap on one wheel. I didn't care much for the racing but that was amazing, it mean that Joe was a favourite of mine all his career, pretty much off the back of seeing him do wheelies all the time. OK as I grew up I also realised he was a pretty exciting racer too. Then a few years back if you asked me the best meeting I'd seen I'd have told you Newport vs Glasgow in 1999. Newport were 8 down going into heat 14, so Newport put Craig Watson off 15 metres for double points. Glasgow Sean Coutrney made the gate ahead of Frank Smart but on lap 2 Frank went inside Sean and Sean fell off. Ref excluded Courtney, all hell broke loose on the pits bend with riders, mechanics, promoters etc all fighting. Crowd went wild, lapped it up. In the re-run Newport got an 8-1 and needed a 4-2 in heat 15. We somehow got the unlikely 4-2 in heat 15 to record a 47-46 win. It was brilliant, a win from nowhere with a fight and a last heat decider. I watched it back a couple of years ago. A totally rubbish meeting with 2 passes (one of them being Wato from 15 metres on a Glagsow reserve) but my brain told me it was one of the best meetings I had seen because of the 15 metre double, the fight and the last heat decider. It's NOT just about 15 heats and that is where speedway promoters are going wrong.

Poole V Coventry Ela. 20/04/16
SCB replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This bees team is doing pretty much what anyone with half a brain knew it would. Piss poor third heat leader, naff reserves, poor second strings. Good top two but both are inconsistent. Now had one of them second strings started in reserve and the pointless available been used to replace the other second string with someone competent the team would be very different. The management messed up, they should have put their foot down with Garrity as any good management would do. The day you have the lowest people working for you making demands is the day you cease to manage! -
Sarj actulally has a very good record in reserve races at Poole! his last visit was terrible though
-
The politics and rubbish off track are rubbish. But the actually sport of 4 riders racing for 4 laps still excites me as much today as it did as a kid.

How bloody hard is it to arrange fixtures when both teams have all their riders available?! -

65-28. KK to score a maximum, the rest nothing. Keep our averages down but I have a bet KK will average 9 so need to keep his average up -
Christ, I agree with starman!

Wolves started with a team full of ifs, whats and maybes. It looks like they're all coming good!
-
It's stupid that on team could have two double uppers and 2 EDRs who are doubling up who all have PL priority yet Coventry of their 4 double uppers have priority over 3 of them so I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to sign Barker - and I don't just say this because it's Coventry, I'd say the same of any team.

Bspa Warning About Live Streaming
SCB replied to robert72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think you're missing the point. When all speedway was on Sky Sports you paid for Sky Sports. Now you have to pay for Sky Sports, BT Sport and Eurosport. You're better off with a monopoly than multiple providers whos combined cost is more than the original monopoly provider. Speedway being spread across 3 channels means it costs people more to watch. -
Christ, Skidder1 is human and can make mistakes
-
Apparently had bike problems in his first after that then lost to Iversen twice, beating him once and lost to Lambert twice. Had he been our number 1 and not out with KK he would have score 8 - when you have a good team mate you will generally score less. Not great no but far from terrible.
-
The Bees riders, with the exception of KK and Garrity who did a little better all did as I expected really - be that good or bad! Of more importance now is Rorys fitness and when we'll next see Woryna in a Bee race suit.

They open the periscope stream on their phone, seeing where it's being filmed from. Walk to that area, wait for the stream to start up, stand in front of the phone. Caught red handed. It wouldn't be hard to do. It's not like the terraces are packed full of people! -
He could do a job in the EL tbf. I doubt he'll be back full time though now, apparently has a good job and has a family now.

He's riding at Ryan Fishers testimonial in June and in the American SWC squad.
