  1. That would be a proper nights entertainment. Waitign to see if either of us would manage 1 or 2 before we were lapped!
  2. Well good news for Mick Horton, I'm cheaper than Danny King! Sign me up!
  3. Because the rules allow ANY rider to replace a rider in the 1-5. But either Poole have played "fair" of the BSPA have decides thats silly. But the rule actually allow any rider with a lower average to guest. The rules do NOT state a team has to have 1 tier 2 and 1 tier two. The rules do state a DECLARED 1-7 must contained 2 EDRs. Nowhere does it mention what tier the EDRs are in anyway. There you go. you're wrong. Can and EDR that has moved into the 1-5 take a TR? If they can, then someone can guest for them too. If you can't have a guest for them then an EDR can't have a TR either.
  4. But they're not signing a rider, they're using a guest. There declared 1-7 still would have had 2 EDRs. How is it different to the fact Robbo could now guest for Ellis? He's not an EDR. Luckily, common sense has prevailed but it does show up the rulebook for the festering pile of crap it is this season, AGAIN! Poole havent tried to twist anything. I don't believe they have ever tried to use anyone but Auty. When I tweeted about it last night 3 Poole fans replied either say I was wrong or that it was stupid.
  5. While that makes some sense, the issue is that by riding in the 1-5 he is a 1-5 rider. In fact the rules state 1-3 ride at 1,3 or 5 and Adam is doing exactly that so he's a 1-3 rider but not a 1-5 rider but an EDR A guest assumed the status of the rider he is replacing. So anyone guesting for Ellis IS an EDR. And how do you explain the rule that allowed any Brit PL rider with a lower average being eligible to guest for an EDR? Robbo could guest for Ellis now as Robbos EL average is lower. Robbo isn't an EDR. And they can't both be replaced by 8 pointers, one of them is always in reserve and the rules are quite explicit, an EDR in reserve can only be replaced by an EDR or a PL rider with a lower PL average. You're doing the typical speedway fan thing here of making up rules in your head to suit a situation you don't like. Fine, don't like it but don't make up rules.
  6. He's a confidence rider whos not a heat leader. Combined the two and it's a disaster.
  7. Thats the logical, maybe even moral argument but not what the rules say! This one could be great fun. When is an EDR not an EDR? When is a 1-5 rider not a 1-5 rider? Can Kai Huckenbeck replace a rider that started in the 1-5 but is now in reserve for Lynn? None of it is clear at all. Even I don't know and I like to think Im someone with a reasonable understanding of the rules!
  8. He's done nothing. 4 meeting (6 with the Elite Shield) and he's done nothing. Whats he scored? 7 (form 6), 5,4,4,3,5,3(from 3). Why would you keep that if you can being in a 7 pointer? We have 3 points to play with can't replace the reserves (EDR/draft rules), there are not 10 point men to replace KK or Bomber, Garrity is well liked and steadily plodding. That means one of King or Woryna has to go. What 9 point man is out there to replace King? And as bad as King is he's averaging over a point more than Woryna who has apparently "done well" - and thats from heat leader, replace Woryna and King drops to second string where he flourished in 2015 - you know, the season where we finished 2nd in the league and only injuries to our two most difficult to replace riders killed off our play-off hopes. So who would you get rid of and why? As I see it, Bombers scoring often improves as a season progresses, KK is KK, who the hell knows! King IS a good second string but shouldn't have been signed as the heat leader (should have kept Joonas), Jason is ok enough at second string, Sarj started the season terrible for both the Bees and Witches but has found a little bit of form in the last couple of week and Josh Bates is as wonderfully inconsistent from ride-to-ride as anyone can be but IS a decent little rider. Even Woryna for a 19 year old lad taking his first rides in the UK isn't bad but it's more how do you fit him into the team than why shouldn't you drop him. I don't think we're a million miles away. People say, "it'll take more than one change" - last season we lost 60-30 at Leicester in a challenge, made one change and won there about 50-40 3(?) weeks later. One change can make a huge difference. It could be enough to at least give us hope that a play-off place can be fought for rather than we battle with Leicester for 7th!
  9. I don't think thats true. An EDR in the reserve berth can only be replaced by another EDR (or a PL Brit with a lower average) but there nothing in the rules that says Ellis can't be replaced by any guest. Someone suggested to me but he still has "EDR status" so can only be replaced by an EDR, I counter that with he clearly has heat leader status as he was riding at #3 tonight!
  10. Isn't he? Who is he answer then? I'd say Bjerre is a top 20 rider in the World, there only a handful of the World top 20 riding in the EL this season (Puk, Doyle, Holder, KK, Zagar) and if you look at last season Polish league averages the only EL rider ahead of him is Puk (by 0.2 of a point) so Bjerre is about as good as it gets. We're not getting Greg, Woffy, Nicki or Emil so we have to be realistic. Who do you actually think if better than Bjerre? I actually think if Bjerre does sign it makes us a long stronger. We suddenly have a rider at 3 who can score 7-9 a meeting it also mean King drops to 4 where he can score 8 a meeting (its what he averaged at #4 in 2015). If we do get Bjerre we should have the best top 3 in the EL, probably even the best top 4. Ok we fail at reserve but we've got to make the best of a bad situation now, we can't do anything about the reserve berths but we can try and sign Bjerre.
  11. And if you do question it (and turn out to be right!) you're called thick, biased or both by one of the senior guys at the BSPA. For that reason the sport will never stop trundling on from crisis to crisis.
  12. So what we're saying is that if Bjarne is missing, Holder the one above can have a ride and Newman the one above him can have 3 rides! So basially Poole will be the strongest they have been all season and will gain form Bjarnes absence *Currently choosing to ignore that Kyle could be missing as it's not so much fun in my winding up - obviously it stands to reason I hope Kyle is feeling better soon, he may be a dirty Pirate but I do like him (and will one day convince him to leave Poole and sign for Coventry!)
  13. That back straight view at Carmarthen was the best ever in speedway. Only place to come close was the exit of the 4th bend at Exeter - two totally opposing tracks 😂
  14. Makes my rained off trips to Peterborough in '99, Lynn for the pairs in about 07 and Ipswich in about 09 from Newport and Cardiff seem pretty irrelevant now!
  15. Matt will just postpone Wednesday meeting - like he did a couple of years ago when something similar happened!
  16. TBF you were watching of free of charge, hopefully due to a mistake. I'm not sure what you have to be disappointed about. Meanwhile some of us have paid for BT Sport only to find out it was available free of charge, how disappointed do you think we are?!
  17. Wasnt the Cardiff shale stored in a moisture controlled environment and checked for moisture too? The year it was nearly called off.
  18. I think the rules are a total mess on this one and they have not thought about what will happen if an EDR goes into the 1-5, is he still an ERD or is he a 1-5 rider? and obviously vice versa, if a 1-5 rider drops to reserve is he still a 1-5 rider? There is no definition of a 1-5 rider. It's often said the rules are badly written and I'm not sure they are. But in this case I don't even want to try and second guess what the BSPA will come up with!
  19. You've miscounted, Hancock was passed 5 times on his own - that's without a single other pass being counted. Not s classic by any means but for me for pass marks, we saw a few decent heats along the way. But no, it won't be remembered in years to come.
  20. All they had to do was used the draft riders EL averages and return to the old format. They could have said that draft riders started in reserve regardless of average anyway so wouldn't have been an issue. But no, they didn't and everything become a massive farce.
  21. Fair point! Christ this could be twisted any way you like 😂
  22. Raises an interesting point. Kings Lynn can no longer replace Busk-Jakobsen with Huckenbeck. Your #8 can only replace 1-5 riders.
