This is brilliant.
-
Weather looks hopeful. Cold but dry.
-
Having to change this meeting from the Friday has caused far more issues than the original plan, but here you go!!
-
Cook will prove the doubters wrong this season. What an Incredible message to send out.
-
Typical Speedway story - you don't get stuff like this in the Premiership. The scale of it is breathtaking when you see that, a couple of weeks ago someone was asking if the terraacing was going to have any kind of gradient - when you see it now it's huge.
-
Not if you don't have Sky tv - I have no dish, and the only reason to get one would be to get access to box office which isn't available on any other platform.
-
Ah...apols Scotsman, I thought you were talking about Glasgow and had a panic attack
-
Too cryptic for me......who?
-
Crazy situation continues where I have to watch pirated BT sport and Sky Box office, but I'm more than happy to pay for the Speedway on Sky Sports via my nowtv setup. It is impossible for me to get BT sports unless I continue to pay up my sky broadband but set up another connection via BT or Virgin! TBH I don't think this kind of bundling should be allowed as it restricts competition. But there you go.

I'm hoping common sense prevails, and we agree to get rid of this rule for Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Cities in England are far enough for this to make sense, but it's a loophole up here (and only because Edinburgh are so far out of the city in our direction) - Glasgow and Edinburgh are separate. Let both clubs run when they like and they can both prosper.
-
They are now consulting with both clubs apparently so it will get sorted out.
-
TBH I can't see it...... but I hope both sets of supporters rise above it and enjoy the home and away matches. Can't be bothered with hassle in the crowds and speedway doesn't need it.
-
I'm actually starting to wonder if it's not a ruse to get the fans in !!
-
Speccy's greet re-tweeted by SpeedwayGB I see. Lol. * I can't believe that in thirty years as a speedway promoter, and given all the banning etc done this would 'astonish' him.

Lets see if the new improved BSPA say something on social media today. Just an acknowledgement they are aware and will make a statement when considered is enough. That's how things work these days. See Armadale have moved their Belle Vue friendly.

Edinburgh are losing out. I know of a few people who have stopped going completely (after being weekly attendees) because of the attitude of the main promoters. FACT. For Edinburgh getting the main sponsors as directors should help sort out the autocrats, but unfortunately can't see it warming relations with Glasgow. We will hold the Semi, never fear, and will continue to move onwards. As a small note to our Edinburgh friends when they compare our promotion to theirs, or even to Whyte and King. The first thing Facennas did was buy the stadium and renovate it to a world class standard, even opening a 7 day restaurant. Bringing in matchday entertainment. Crowds have trebled. Young people are there every week. While Edinburgh's promotion have spunked cash on titles and have nothing too show for it.
-
There's no mafioso about them, but they are a huge business with all sorts of promotional and organisational efforts going on. All I am saying is, they are big fish who can only increase interest in Glasgow speedway. Armadale could have had some of it, but choose instead to be obstructive.
-
Why shouldn't they choose a Friday? I'm sure they picked the Friday because it's the most appropriate night other than the Sunday. They are proffesionals looking to maximise commercial opportunites, and are probably flabbergasted to find a) Edinburgh are even allowed to behave this way That they would choose to do so. And if Monarchs were really EDINBURGH monarchs, they wouldn't even be able to protest.
-
Edinburgh are playing with Fire, tbh. The Glasgow promotion are extremely wealthy, hard nosed businessmen who do not like to lose. The kind of people it would be useful to keep onside. What I'm not sure of, if Edinburgh object is their objection automatically accepted? would seem crazy as I'm sure any forward thinking organization would throw this out in a second.

The weathers as unpreditable as ever. People seem to be brainwashed into thinking we didn't have a temperate climate before global warming.
-
Sounds a good idea to me. Especially after our tapes farrago last season. *Sarjent would still be accused by of jumping at the speed of light, travelling back in time or something.
-
See the Mckenna's have joined the directors. Aside from all the nonsense, I think this could be a good thing for Edinburgh, as they have experience of running and marketing a profitable commercial enterprise. * Just seen Blob the mole had already posted this. Apols.

National Speedway Stadium Opening Tickets Now On Sale
damosuzuki replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
At Glasgow you can stand At Bends 1 or two, but given it's a banked track it's not worthwhile. you are trying to peer downwards over a barrier and being sprayed with Shale. At a lot of tracks, though, if you want to see the passing on these bends the best place is nearer the start line. Edited to add - the Smoking shed is on Bend one at Ashfield. Always popular. Is it going to be possible to walk, say from the main stand around to the terracing via 3&4? I enjoy a walk round the track meeting different people etc. at the speedway. -
I'm actually quite happy the more things descend into a Poole / Belle Vue slanging match. Big things happening, big season ahead and it starts in a few short weeks. Can't wait to see the stadium on the 30th - albeit only on tv
