  1. Well, the weather looks good. Will be great to finally see a sky meeting and hopefully they get a good turnout and it's a good advert for Speedway.
  2. The league stage isn't over regardless of the result. We have a team that could win away at Berwick, but we should surely get something at the Dale. * the BBC has now got it fkn SNOWING in Armadale on Friday
  3. Aye I'll keep politics out. Scotsman is actually a reasonable Edinburger
  4. ♫ but love don't pay the rent...........♪ I'll do my bit though, always taught to help those less fortunate than myself. As such will be travelling through on Friday night, cash in hand. No thanks required.
  5. murder for places like Scunthorpe and Redcar, while the PM makes sure he doesn't pay his taxes. Nice
  6. Must admit I didn't know Ford had as bad a record as this. Muddlo's outbursts on twitter are always a laugh though.
  7. Lets keep this thread going until Fisher's testimonial.
  8. Totally agree it was a cracking meeting, and a good turn out. And the racing was at times breathtaking. 40 odd races All for six quid!!!
  9. Ford probably realises that if Poole start losing all the fairweather fans from JP Morgan etc will disappear so does anything he can to stop that happening. The Statman's of the world are not enough to keep the club going.
  10. That's not what I meant - I'm saying that faced with the choice of what's good for the league as a whole, the other clubs OR Poole winning - I believe Ford is unable to put the common good above self interest. It's understandable for a sports team and it's the winning mentality, BUT it can't be allowed to dominate the thinking at the top table. The rest of the clubs need to vote in something that will specifically disadvantage the big, money teams and the big money teams need to accept it. Realistically Poole / Belle Vue are going to be near the top every year and that's right and proper, but the whole point in Speedway averages is to try and level the playing field. If you look at this years EL it's anything but - so it isn' tworking imo. I've always thought, I might not fancy Ford much as a personality, but any supporter - me included - would surely love him as their promoter. Edited to add. I do not believe the EL will continue with it's current 8 teams next year.
  11. Very much looking forward to this today. Great weather for Speedway in Glasgow. Overcast, very pleasant and track should be in good nick. Good luck to all the entrants, should be a lot more racing than our last meeting against Edinburgh
  12. Glad Poole are successful off the track, long may it continue - but hopefully they don't win the league this year. I get the impression Ford would rather shut down every club in the league before letting them beat him, which is a pathetic mentality. We've seen what this attitude produces with Rangers/Celtic in Scottish football.
  13. I realised it hadn't been posted here and wondered what people thought. I'm glad for ANY Speedway team to be succesful but think Ford comes over as conceited. And dresses like a used Merc salesman.
  14. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/14406415.Speedway__Ford_has__no_sympathy__for_clubs_that_fail_to_compete/ While I understand his desire to win, surely he realises that he needs teams to compete to have a succesful Poole team. Do Poole need the other clubs in the EL, or should Poole just adopt a harlem globetrotters role and avoid the riff raff ?
  15. All I'm concerned about is us getting some form of points next week, a very handy 3 for Berwick tonight. Etheridge and Bewley haven't been given a chance to be fair - early days. However, hoping for no improvement next wk. Don't need to worry about Fisher, Clegg et all tbh.
  16. Should they be repairing it bit by bit or should they have bit thebullet and relaid the whole thing properly?
  17. the weather looks fine in Manc to me.... the sooner this is over with the better - belle vue must be terrified something happens again.
  18. The fact is £17.50 is a pittance for the luxury on offer at Cashfield®
