  1. IMO the 3 point reserve rule is bringing in guys who may / would not be going into the premier otherwise, I am sticking to my guns and expect Bewley on the scoreboard on Friday Ayres got well ahead of Carr against Coventry and overtook twice(?) The reserve berth is going to be interesting!!!
  2. Massive improvement at wunderground as well...... Here's hoping
  3. Had Matt Ford signed Dudek when he had the chance none of this would have happened.
  4. Riding a speedway bike is not easy or like riding a motocross bike. My mind is open on Bewley and Etheridge.
  5. The signing of Fisher being another example. Losing Sedgeman and Cook, I expected them to be looking at Grajzonic,Kus type of riders. Nothing much happened and then they signed Fisher who may or may not be his former self, but looked to have half retired at best. And given the level playing field in terms of no 7 - to leave it to the last minute and run the audition was poor. And as for Etheridge he may turn out to be decent - but I know as much as the Edinburgh promotion do. Don't like to speak to soon as Edinburgh may come good, but there's too many decent looking sides in the Premier to make it look dangerous to throw away averages - and not to get near 42.5 in the first place.
  6. On a serious note I prefer Sundays but I'd have thought Friday evenings would still attract the families
  7. Great photos. If you had shown me these 10, 20 years ago I wouldn't have believed it. Crowd, atmosphere, even the wee kid in the tiger suit. Awesome.
  8. I'll be interested to see how Bewley looksup against Carr.
  9. Done it myself when I was younger - booked a course costing 60 quid and got all manner of discounts. Age limit is the way to go - Maybe under 20 or something.
  10. I don't think it's that big a deal, but what on earth are Kings Lynn up to - cancelling a meeting with no explanation whatsoever? I can't get my head round how anyone would think that's appropriate behaviour towards customers??? Buster - the reason will come out whether you like it or not, and the lack of communication is actually worse than the National stadium opening. At least the Belle Vue promotion had the guts to stand in front of the fans and explain. Come on ffs, how do speedway promoters manage to undermine all the fantastic work they do over and over again. and that's a load of bollocks as well, as if periscope threatens Speedway, they should be encouraging people to film and share heats to get the public interested.
  11. Tempted to head through for this and keeping an eye on the wevver. It has the makings of an interesting meeting. I think Edinburgh will win, and take Bewley to get a point or two.
  12. As a Glasgow supporter (remember we won hee haw last season) I hope sincerely we stay in the premier. I've seen how Scottish football went with blowing cash on big foreign names, no thanks. People talk about Speedway as if it's a special case - it isn't. FOOTBALL is the exception. If you market and package a minority sport well, and make sure it stays competitive it can succeed. It will succeed. Dropping the admission price would be bonkers. This is a professional motorsport with 14 riders on non production machines. Sometimes I wonder where Speedway fans were in the past - it was worse up here in the eighties at various points!! Remember Blantyre ffs.
  13. tldr However, don't agree that Speedway is too expensive, do agree Elite league becoming a joke and independent chairman required.
  14. I'm not putting it down to that. The loss of cook and Sedgeman and the gaining of fisher and Bewley mean Edinburgh are going to be average this season Imo. Etheric however may outperform his assessed average. Clegg today was v disappointing and fisher was unlucky but also unimpressive
  15. Thoroughlly enjoyed that today, and there was a bit of racing in the later heats. We look a very solid side. Garcia and Ayres impressed again, terrific.
  16. I amin Glasgow and I can tell you all that it is fine and improving. There was heavyish rain at points yesterday, but the winds and at worst drizzle mean that there is nothing like the water around that there was even last week - when the meeting was on. The forecast is brightening throughout the day. Getting ready right now. Looks like a very pleasant April day to be watching speedway!
  17. The reserves and lower orders could make for exciting racing tomorrow. I have no idea what Etheridge or Bewley will be like, but I liked the look of Garcia last week.
  18. If you have a decent internet, you should get NOW TV. Then you can hire the full sky sports package for one night £6.99 or a week - £10.99. No subscription required. You don't need to pay for any pf the other stuff - so I don't payfor it during the football season, and in this case won't be paying my £10.99 this week
  19. Amen to that. Big crowd, decent weather, no injuries, and good racing. Here we GO
  20. I don't tjink there is anything dodgy going on. Once the football season is finished and we are into May there are plenty planned sky matches.
  21. Superace,is it possible to walk round the track at the new stadium. EG at Glasgow now you can still walk right round in front of the standbut get your ticket checked at the actual entrances to the seated area.. so could you be on the terarcing and walk round to the pits?
  22. ah.... That's it then, just a load of bollox from PC Murdoch.
  23. Tigers don't have five directors ...... and didn't. Please substantiate your story.
