The current format was designed to cater for TWO young British riders ,with limited Elite experience , to develop and hence the reserves were protected from the heat leaders. Unfortunately, the TWO young British riders at 6 and 7 only lasted for one year and then the likes of Auty and others appeared at reserve, The present Elite format is now outdated and not fit for purpose and I sincerely hope they get rid of it. At a minimum, just go back to the present PL / NL format

A great final is set up over the two legs. As with last year's final , both teams are capable of winning the title.... form books don't count..... just doing the business over the two days I make Belle Vue slight favourites and hope that I am right.

The Poole reserves scored 22 , Holder scored 8 and the others scored 5 between them. 5 points from 3 riders gave the tie away to Wolves. I am delighted to see Poole knocked out as are many others. Well done to the Wolves and I look forward to a great Final.

Although the odds were well against Lakeside, they rode well and there was lot of good racing. Well done to the Aces and roll on the final.

I went to the Workington Glasgow league match and it was the best meeting I have seen at Workington for a long time. Good luck to Workington in 2017

I won't be back at Coventry whilst they continue not having concessions... I have not reached concession age yet. However , as a matter of principle , I will not go.

When I asked the promotion a while back , they said it would be in October after the play offs are out of the way. Recent rumours were that provided they can get a strong enough line up.. only time will tell. Personally , I think they should put the meeting on with the best available line up .....

What a stupid statement to say that no Lakeside fans will come up. I agree the number will be low but there are still some dedicated loyal fans who will come.

After the late start to the season and clashes galore with trying to rearrange , it is no surprise that our main day has not been used as much as it should. It will rectify itself next year. last Wednesday was my 28th meeting at Belle Vue this year with potentially 7 matches left..... It is great to get back to lots of home meetings in the season. Years gone by it was minimum 22 meetings as opposed to recent years with 16 / 17 or so and finished by the second week in September !!!

I have no objection to Poole signing Lindback.... but an assessed ave of 7 is ridiculous... No 8 in the World re this years SGP ..... won Cardiffs SGP,,,,,,,,,present SGP riders in our Elite league are averaging much more than that and some of them are below Lindback in the SGP. No wonder the National Press take little notice and give minimal press coverage to Speedway.

The centre green presenter , Simon , has now resigned. His Speedway knowledge was minimal which was transparent in his dialogue throughout the year.

Cracking racing with 12 good races out of 15. Best league match I have seen at Workington in a long time.

Most enjoyable match with a lot of good racing. Once again , the weather forecasters got it wrong. Jack Smith was impressive and it was great to see Sam W ride well and get a great score. pleased to see young Joe Lawlor get a good paid win.

Let us hope that this damage and obvious extra costs do not sink the Devils and that they will be in the league next year.
