Peterborough Panthers 2020
Bald Bloke replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
5.79 seems a bargain ave. I know his best years are gone, but given an injury free season he should put a point on that. Wright would be my first signing. Good solid rider. I'd have him at Lynn in a heartbeat. -
FFS.. I've been corrected by Tell again I looked at the wrong column...….. Lynn are still second to the Robins

You think Swindon has problems.Lynn finished second bottom, but second on team averages to the Robins. 45.26 to 45.16

Crowd has surprised me, seeing what's at stake. Hope the weather holds out. -
Not my job, but Lynn have to many riders that ride the AFA well, but are poor away. Not picking on one rider, there are several like it. Heres an example.... TJ has a GSA of 6.41... His home average for 2019 is 7.71 …. his away average is 3.78 Charles Wright has a GSA of 6.58 …. Home average is for 2019 is 7.13 …. His away average 6.38. He goes ok at Lynn. I'm pretty sure Charles woud average 6+ home and away for the Stars. We need a few riders like that imho. The Stars need riders like that if they are serious about trying to win something. You have to grab points on the road.

He has lost money at Peterborough, he has said so himself. Judging by the crowds at Lynn, I think he has lost there as well. Speedway is not a money making machine, it's a money pit. So it's cost him £1000's. He spent 6 figures at Peterborough, before a wheel was turned. He didn't do it to make money, that's for sure!! If Buster did underwrite the Ippo promotion, he was the only one to put his money where his mouth is. He has his haters, and your one of them. But if he walked away from the 3 clubs today, where would speedway be?

I hope that's still the forecast ?. Looking forward to watching this. Hopefully a good crowd for the cameras too. -
As I see it the reason is simple, our riders haven't been good enough away from the AFA. While it's great to have "Application, attitude and passion", does it have "far greater importance to the value of a riders impact for the team"? It will only get you so far imho. You could put a Championship side into the Prem, and they won't win anything with all the application, attitude and passion in the world..

Having "someone who knows what they are doing" wouldn't of saved the Prem league and BT deal this season. He was the only one that put his hand in his pocket, and probably lost money. I'm not saying he is the right man for the job, He's set in his ways, that's for sure, but where would the Prem have been without him this season ? Gone maybe. Cabbage patch , well they go together with webbed feet around these parts
