Great rider around Plymouth and if it was just a result business for Ben Barker I think he would be superb. the issue I have is his machinery and how he seems to have a bit of an ego around Plymouth. again I’d love for him to prove me wrong, and as you say the points he scores is very good but would someone like palm toft score nearly as many and be more of a team player ?

1 - Richard Lawson - 8.51 2 - Alfie Bowtell - 4.77 3 - MPT - 7.33 4 - Kyle Newman - 5.43 5 - Danny king - 8.95 6 - Anders Rowe - 3.98 7 - Henry Atkins - 2* ( to be confirmed I assume ) Think I’d go along those lines. 41 points exact if that’s a potential limit. I would like Brennan but think he’s unrealistic. Also Nicol and heeps but think they will be on most teams radars as well.

As examples….. ( I know these are not necessarily realistic but using as examples) brady Kurtz… what would his champ avg be ? 2021 prem average - 7.35 2017 chanp average - 7.65 I assume you’d times it by 1.5 meaning he would be on an 11 average ?! Or would he be on his old champ average ?

Looking at possible team members for next season and scrolling threw previous Greensheets. Few questions, if anyone can help…. 1) if a rider hasn’t rode in the championahip but rode in the premiership last year how do you convert the average ? 2) if a rider rode in the championship the season before last would it be that average used ? Further on from that if they rode in the championship 2 years ago but prem last year would you use the old average or converted average ?! Any help be appreciated

Agreed I think Bowtell is on a 6.78 average next year ( could be very wrong, but his green sheet Column for a guest is 7.33 take 5% for home advantage then take 2.5% for being British) 1 - Lawson - 8.73 2 - 3 - Bowtell - 6.78 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - Atkins - rising star 2* based on 41 point last season means remaining is……. 23.49 for 4 riders

2022 Teams & Points average
Doners123 replied to Tosh1218's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just to open up discussions….. Are there any riders that people think are on low enough averages to improve considerably ? on to high averages that teams will find difficult to get them in ? any foreign riders that may realistically sign in the championship ? -
Any clues

Riders that spring to mind and depending on limits and things. bowtell atkins crump cook kelleher Rumul king lawson harris barker Just say we have to have to build the same as we did last year so 41 points including a reserve from the graded riders. easiest choice is number 7 and that will be Atkins. Should imagine on a 2* as he was last year possibly a 1* if he’s been out for a few months. Lawson is confirmed so that’s 2 riders. personally I’d look at king and Harris next both big points but I think that we would ha e enough as a whole to get threw meetings. so currently I have…. 1 - Danny King - 9.22 2 - 3 - Chris Harris - 7.89 4 - 5 - Richard Lawson - 8.73 6 - 7 - Atkins - 2* Total - 27.84 Remaining - 13.16 Wishing Bowtell is on a 3* ( possibly 4* reserve list ) wishful thinking I know as I think Bowtell is on a 6 now which seems high but I do really like him, it would be a struggle to have him away from home as a 6 point rider. Main reason I didn’t put him in any teams is because I’ve no idea what average he is on as he’s down as 3*. I’ 1 - Danny King - 9.22 2 - 3 - Chris Harris - 7.89 4 - 5 - Richard Lawson - 8.73 6 - Bowtell - 3*/4* 7 - Atkins - 2* Total - 30.84 or 31.84 Remaining - 10.16 or 9.16 if it’s 10.16 I’d go, Newman and Rumul/Zane or Barker/3.01 rider. if it’s 9.16 I’d go maybe Rumul and Zane The other way to go is take a gamble that barker is going to be committed and have reliable equipment. If he does and bowtell is still a 3* reserve is go….. 1 - Lawson - 8.73 2 - 3 - Barker - 7.05 4 - 5 - Harris - 7.89 6 - Bowtell - 3* 7 - Atkins - 2* This would leave 12.33 for the final two positions. Could go….. 11.98 - Wells and Newman 11.33/11.48 - Palm Toft and Rumul/Kelaher 12.14 - Roynan and Crump

It’s a shame that with the state speedway is on still want to take digs at other tracks. I can assure you that Plymouth fans, riders, helpers and anyone in Plymouth have loved this season and could t be happier. I’ve loved this season involved with Plymouth and there’s a real buzz around the place and excitement for next year. Plymouth will be a big team next year and have success. crowd was 850 last night I believe and the season high was just under 1000 vs Birmingham. Crowds have grown and grown this season as stated by mark in his after match interview last night. The issue is when people can write as they wish on a forum it’s easier to talk rubbish and hide when you have an agenda against someone. id full support all tracks and not put them down every time because sooner or later promoters/fans/managers/riders will get sick off the rubbish online and jack it in and then before you know it you’ll have no teams to take aim and dig at. what’s your actual issue with Plymouth speedway ?! what do you do to help speedway clubs ? I have no idea who you are for all I know you could be a promoter, rider, manager or a fan but I’m Intreagued. for what it’s worth I hope it’s a good crowd and good meeting at Poole tonight and fans go away happy and return.

Credit where credit is due Plymouth and Mark in particular have proved everyone wrong this year. They joined in late, set up the team so that they could get decent crowds in all season and cemented the club for next year. people gave them no hope and they go into the last 3/4 meetings with a slim chance to get there. Bringing in Lawson gives that slim chance a bit stronger and may also look towards next season with possibly signing Lawson next season. I believe this team would have happened earlier but crumps injury didn’t allow it. it would have been a lot earlier this change happened and Plymouth would have been even stronger all season. there’s a chance they get in to the play offs and if they do they could win it.

Plymouth have 6.98 spare with new averages. Should Eastbourne not finish the season and riders released, id be going….. 1 - Pedersen 2 - Rumul could easily be cook 3 - Crump 4 - Kheller 5 - Lawson 6 - Edwards 7 - Bowtell still leaves 2.11 spare to use could swap for example Cooke or zane for Tom Brennan or Kyle Newman. other options could be riders riding in Poland that have finished there season and have not made the play offs no idea who I’m sure others could say. suppose it depends if Plymouth have an outside chance of the play offs if Eastbourne pull out
-
So today the true set of averages come out for Plymouth and sees Jason crump on a new average off 6.98. This is something I believe Plymouth were hoping that would happen at the start of the season and means they have around 4.96 to spare. Bringing in a rider in place (for example) of one of the riders on a 4 would give 8.96 spare. A rider under that average would include someone like Lawson. This would give the support needed to Jason and Bjarne. Be interesting to see if they change the line up or keep it as they are with minimal meetings left.
-
Is quite funny that ! Unlucky really crump got injured as could have had a few points to spare with to tinker the team with and strengthen. I think Plymouth’s team next year could be very good now they have survived this year and got Gary may in, personally I think Gary is going to make a huge difference.

Plymouth v Edinburgh Tuesday 3rd August
Doners123 replied to BobC's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Heat 14 if you can watch is a must watch. The pass from bowtell and same were superb. also zane to hold off masters and Worrall in heat 15 was superb. -
I do t think This team was ever put out to win the league as silly as it sounds. It was put out to get fans in the stadium, and it has done that. The job this year was to get the club sustainable through this year and in to next year. reminder we started a lot later than most sides, nearly a whole year behind those that kept the riders from the season that never ran. personally I think we are close. 12 points on a heat leader was always going to be a tough ask and had he rode he’d have probs got a 9/10 average freeing up 2 points to put towards a stronger reserve from 3 points to 5 pushing Dillon or Zach there. The club as a whole has improved everything massively from the stadium to the track to the food selection in the cafe. from when mark took over to this moment in time it’s complete opposites. And he deserves every success and well done that go his way

Plymouth v Poole 13/7/21 CL

Steve I’m impressed with how sour you are about the draw. suppose it was someone else’s fault that king went threw the tapes ?! -
Plymouth v Poole 13/7/21 CL
Doners123 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Awww did little old Plymouth not let the big bad pirates win. for what it’s worth, both cooks excellent. Zane superb already scored more points in one meeting than goret did over all. Pedersen superb , crump will take 10 or so points in his 2nd meeting back. rumul tried hard and had a superb battle going out wide for beat Nielsen. ruddick is struggling and hopefully he can push on and start scoring. bowtell bit of a mixed bag this evening but he mixes it with all riders and give us a bit of strength in depth. I like Poole think they are good Stefan didn’t have his best meeting, strange choices by middlo but on another day they come off. take the draw and we crack on to the next meeting. I can’t help but think Plymouth might just make one more change to if there’s riders available to strengthen us. -
Plymouth v Poole 13/7/21 CL
Doners123 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With that means cook, Dayon and Stefan can take the rides. how many are they allowed to take each ?! if Stefan is allowed to take all 3/4 rides then it makes Poole considerably stronger. -
Looking at the latest green sheet it seems to show that Alfie bowtell has moved to the rising star spot in place of Ruddick.

Plymouth v Poole 22/6/21 K.O. Cup 7pm
Doners123 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very good meeting. Superb crowd even against the football. Plymouth only lost by 8 which against a fantastic Poole side isn’t a lot. I think cook and rumul are starting to get to grips with the track and looking good. Won’t be long before they start scoring points. However goret is a real worry and must be on borrowed time. I know this season for Plymouth isn’t about winning but if the new averages come out and there’s points to play with Goret could be in trouble. on top of that goret could go down to reserve and bowtell in the top 5, this would make us even weaker as I’m not sure goret could actually beat reserves where as bowtell is starting to push heatleaders all the way. If replacing goret pushes Alfie back down to reserve it’s a no brainer. Plymouth are getting closer and closer. -
Can anyone tell me when riders get new averages or how the averages/green sheet work this year. intrigued with bowtell in good form and goret and rumul not so good form when/if a reserve change may come in. on top of that pedersen and crump to maybe get a lower average or if they maintain. However I know crumps only rode in the one meeting. any help appreciated

Cook starting to come alive, he will be the big one of the three new ones. we could be one rider off a play off team….. im backing this team.
