Plymouth v Scunthorpe 5.7.2025

I’m going to gamble and say Alfie B rider of the night … let’s see how that goes. -
🔥 GLADIATORS SIGN GP WILDCARD DANIEL KLÍMA! 🔥 🏁 Plymouth Speedway are thrilled to announce the signing of 22-year-old Czech sensation Daniel Klíma, who will make his debut for the Gladiators on Saturday 5th July at the Coliseum against Scunthorpe! Arriving on an assessed 4.00 average, Daniel will join Mitchell Cluff at reserve, giving the team a strong boost 💪 as they continue their charge for a Championship Play-Off spot. Daniel is no stranger to top-tier competition — with experience at Stal Gorzów and Grudziadz at U24 level, success with the Czech National Team, and a Wildcard appearance at this year’s Czech Grand Prix, he’s a rider with pedigree and passion. 🗣️ Promoter Mark Phillips: “We have seen in recent weeks that we can be strong and competitive at home against any championship team, however we have been lacking some firepower on the road, especially on some of the bigger and faster tracks. The option to bring in a very promising recruit with lots of European experience, a real desire to carve out a career in the UK and a fixture schedule that ideally suits joining us, it was an opportunity we couldn’t ignore. The fact he comes in as a 4-point rider is a bonus and gives us possible scope to further tweak the 1-7 of the team should we feel the need. It’s never a straightforward decision to replace a rider like Ben, especially when he has grown up within the club. I sincerely send my thanks to Ben for his Gladiator efforts this season, and continue to look forward to working with him with our SWTR Centurions.” 📆 Be there to see Daniel’s debut: 🆚 Scunthorpe 📍 The Coliseum 📅 Saturday 5th July Let’s give Daniel a warm Gladiators welcome 👏🙌 #Gladiators2025 #WelcomeDaniel #SpeedwaySigning #PlymouthGladiators

Trigger has been released from the championship team, up to around 8 points for a new rider.

5th July this weekend home vs Scunthorpe.
-
Teams are as planned for Plymouth but missing Riss and Mulford who go R/R and Morley in. Morley will be interesting to see how he goes again back at Plymouth normally does well. also good to how cluff and trigger do knowing after this meeting klindt gets a new average and potential some big points to insert a team change.
-
What average is Morley on in champ ?

PLYMOUTH V POOLE, KO CUP 1ST LEG, SAT 24/05/25.

Shock Poole lose and blame the track 😂 maybe they need to look at the underperforming riders. I did think Sargent is a decent upgrade on Marson and would have had more points but starke stuck him in the fence. I really like the look of Thomsen around d Plymouth as well but unfortunalty the way Poole have built there team if more than one of the top 5 are not firing then they will get these results. Has cluff had a night that has maybe saved his job but I worry for trigger now as I’m sure there will be a change/s with the points that have been freed up from cluff and also the points that will be freed up from klindt. all in all a great night for the glads but I still feel Poole will go in to the next round. -

Big night for cluff and trigger really. One of them has to step up hopefully. -
Currently what average is NK on that he will convert to ? That’ll be the key figure.
-
Surely two points won’t be lost on rebuilding it’ll just be 2 points towards further riders we could sign.
-
Never knew that, thanks for the update. I thought with bomber in on Saturday Plymouth could have had a good chance to beat poole again at home but with trigger and cluff at reserve it becomes a struggle as I’m not sure either could quite do 10-12 points like lasse or Alfie could.
-
I see on he Speedway GB website cluff seems to have got a reduction to a 3.00 rider. this ironically could hinder the glass massively if it means lasse or Alfie are not at reserve.
-
I feel like you put those one of those 2 in place of say a cluff this team comes very competitive especially at home. could be the difference between play offs and no play offs.
-
Is this 3 home and 3 away or just 6 in general. if it’s 6 in general then Klindt I believe will complete 6 after the next meeting. Could be a huge curveball To other teams if the promotion have the points to play with and make a change.
-
Confirmed team Ben trigger joe Thompson chad wirtzfield Kai Ward charlie southwick Morgan williams ryan Ingram no idea if this is a sold team but can’t see the top two losing many.
-
What is the National league team ? Started a thread on the NL pages but very quiet.
-
Great to mark and the volunteer team widening the back straight track between bends 2 and 3. also agreed a 5 year lease with the land owners so really good news for Plymouth speedway. no matter what anyone says mark deserves huge credit for keeping Plymouth speedway alive and improving on the track. Along with I believe a new 500 club package for hospitality members on bend one.
-
Mitchell cluff signs
-
Great to have a team in the NDL and double up in the leagues. Would love to try and build a team but honestly no idea. I assume trigger is an obvious one.
-
Current team id have something looking like is this. its a shame as Nico and D Thompson would have fit. really is a limited number of heat leaders avalible. With this in mind does anyone know the following ….. 1) what’s the conversion rate in from prem to champ ? 2) if someone for example has a 2022 champ average but has a 2024 prem average which takes the lead to build from ? 1- 2- Gilkes - 5.07 3- B Barker 5.83 4- J Thompson 5.62 5- 6- Bowtell - 5.07 7- Trigger - 3.00 Total remaining - 15.41
-
I have a feeling there could be a shock rider riding for Plymouth this year at 1 👀
-
Thing is Plymouth have never had an issue getting a number one in initially. It’s getting a replacement in that’s tough.
-
Barker on a sub 6 should make Plymouth very difficult to beat at home next season especially if the limit is 40.
-
The reality and the shame of this forum is sooner or later clubs will close down and so will speedway. The sooner people on this forum realise that they could build the sport up (admittedly only a tiny bit) but every little helps.
