Only guessing not sure!!! good rider and a mega association with Newcastle which is still going strong they had some great sides Joe/Tom Rod Hunter,Ron Henderson, Blackadder, and later Carter they were a real force in a very good NL.As for Dave only see ride twice for Halifax and once for Cradley my uncle who first took me said he was good he kept harping on about Forrest, Booey ,,Younghusband and he was a fan of Les Sharpe who he felt was very inconsistent. -

How long did it take Ivan to master the Brough track ? and how much different was it compared to today's track i have only been to Brough twice once in 1978 and once in 1984 after there venture into the BL.I enjoyed both visits Malcolm Holloway once told me he found Brough one of the hardest tracks to ride and i can remember him being very disappointed with his performance in one of the WC qualifying rounds there in either 1984 or 85.? -

Thanks ORLOV god those owners don't half screw the promotion annoying really because the club we all love has done a hell of a job surviving every year since 1949. -

I did not know that Ray to be honest one of the problems we have in speedway are clubs not owning the stadiums.I don't if i am right on this and if Poole are the same as Swindon i think Swindon get none of the parking money / drinks food revenue and maybe even the programmes maybe ER or Grachan would know if that is correct.?? -

Just saying the Swindon promotion have as much control as Ford has at Poole that's all no need to be so so prickly.!!! -

Do the Borough of Poole own Wimborne Rd.? -
A great result for the Stars last night great to see young Lambert get the lot i think tonight it will be a lot closer than most of us think. It should be a home win Lewis Rose had a nasty off at the weekend and a few knocks last night so it will be interesting if they book a guest for him be nice if the Robins can build a bit of momentum after last night's great result.

Fair play to Rosco his record with riders over the years is very good well more than good. I like Adam never been so convinced of him as Rosco but liked him at Ipswich/Lakeside also has done very well for the Robins a few unlucky crashes along the way has hampered him a bit. He now can kick on also I want him to be a big player in the Championship he is well capable of being in the top 20 riders of that league and that is being negative he could even be higher than that.

Are you that naive the sport as a whole has to prosper to make progress it is not all about one club your club or mine Poole need clubs to race against your philosophy is as long as Poole do well everything is rosy no it is not your club needs teams to race against and year by year that gets more difficult for most clubs.

Totally wrong how many average foreigners have Poole employed over the years quite a few.You need to look LONGTERM Belle Vue have proved it can be done have faith in the Brits your side on the other hand only employed Brits if they fitted in with the averages Starke, Newman, Howarth,Ellis all treated shabbily.

Your memories of Americans in British League (1970-90)

Sigalos was a real class act and was good anough to be World Champ a great style really fast Cook improved no end from being a four pointer into a world class rider.Looking back to Siggy IF Siggy, Penhall, Gundersen,Lee,Nielsen,Sanders,Carter, had stayed around what a era that would of been. -
1968/ 75 i would say those eight seasons were his peak years Ivan was a absolute superstar his level and consistency was amazing .But we often forget how good a team man Ivan was was brilliant after Belle Vue with his Exeter and Hull teams and was very unlucky with Hull when they nearly won the league. 1972 ( with the greatest side ever Belle Vue ) and his Exeter career was my favourite period as a rider remember him in his classy white leathers he looked twenty years ahead of his time a real ICON of our sport.
