I took a walk past the Beaumont Park this evening & the gates were open. Someone was there driving a tractor with the bowser on sucking the water out the drains & off the track. The track was very very wet with big puddles & like a sludge bath . With more rain forecast till around 9pm tomorrow & a dry but cloudy day Saturday there is not much to help the track dry , I think the damage may already be done for Leicester’s track & Saturday will get called off due to an unfit track.

Much more rain like we are currently having here in Leicester & Saturday will be in severe doubt IMO. No doubt the track will be flooded at this time & with rain not due to cease until early Saturday morning I fear it might be soaked in too deep to do anything to make it raceable.

I was told the same thing that Poole would still host the first next week if Friday is cancelled. But with Leicester now running the Premiership Pairs on Tuesday & a double header the following Saturday I can’t see how they plan to run it.

Poole - Wednesday 26th October Leicester- Saturday 29th October Glasgow - TBC It says Glasgow are taking part but there is no date scheduled for their home leg, I can see this being ridden over 2 leg only. Also have to wonder what sort of team Glasgow will have with Ostergaard retired, Hume injured & rumoured Nicol is back in USA ?

If Poole is called off on Friday then i am lead to believe that the plan is for it to be restaged Sunday at Poole & the 2nd leg at Leicester pushed back until Tuesday

Correct Poland are relaxing their rules around how many countries riders can race in but in return they will have more call on riders I.E if Poland rearrange a fixture for a Tuesday & a rider is due to race at Plymouth , the rider will have to race in Poland. Saturday night racing will always be an issue with Poland because they like riders to practise the day before & then select a squad for the Sunday.

So it appears Leicester can’t even organise an end of season party without getting it wrong !!!!! It’s just been announced its being held on Friday 14th October let’s be honest it’s highly likely there will be an important match the next day. So I don’t envisage many riders wanting to attend the party when they can’t relax & have a drink because they have a big match the next day where they could be alcohol tested. The club have had a whole year to organise the party & plan it for when they know its very likely there will be a match the next day clueless !!!!! The words pi55 up & brewery come to mind.

Nick Morris will not be with Leicester next season. He is moving up a league in Poland which will not allow him to race regularly in UK on a Saturday night.

This is getting beyond a joke are Plymouth going to keep postponing until they can get better guest & can host the 2nd leg ?

All sports cancelled for day 1 of mourning (Friday) then Sports needing a high police presence are cancelled for the weekend with all other sports to resuming from Saturday. I never knew Speedway was such a high risk sport to Police. They will be complaining when we are racing play offs in the final week of October

Saturday 17th September is the next time the Lions will race at BP. After arranging Cubs matches on 3rd & 10th to avoid Polish 2nd Division plays offs finals which would have ruled Nick Morris out if his club made the final but they didn’t. They tried everything to get a fixture for the Bank Holiday weekend but non of the opposition teams we are due to face could raise a full team so declined to come. But it’s now looking likely there is going to be speedway at Leicester right upto 29th October

Leicester tried double headers bs Edinburgh & Plymouth alot of fans complained & it cost the club a vast amount of money. Also the reason NDL is running on 3rd & 10th Sept is because its Polish Div 2 & 3 play offs finals so Leicester could have been without Nick Morris .

Monday is a protected race night for Premiership racing & with Dan & Joe number 8’s for Sheffield & Wolves they are required there

All i was told is we can’t run on 27th or 28th for reasons out the clubs control So I can assume that is conditions of the lease with the landlord , lack of medical cover because they have other bookings or local council regulations over noise because I know they were there measuring noise disturbance a few weeks ago.

Leicester won’t run mid week unless there are cancellations or they run out of Saturdays. The financial implications due to low crowds of running on any other day then Saturday or Sunday makes it not worth opening the gates.

All this talk of where & why is Richard Lawson not riding for Poole. He has decided to guest for another club in the best interests of British Speedway

His test was non negative. Which is a diplomatic way of saying it was positive. If it was inconclusive he would have been asked to take another test. Nobody can come on here & defend Ben , he broke the rules (knowingly or unknowingly) so now must serve his punishment.

NDL meetings are arranged on 3rd & 10th September because that is the Polish middle & bottom tier play off finals over 2 legs. So Leicester would be without Nick Morris if his club make it. But if you look there are only NDL fixtures on those dates throughout the country.

Interesting developments. Max James has had a brand new kevlars made up in the Leicester Lion Cubs branding so who is he coming into replace ? He already had a Lions set now had the Cubs ones made specifically .

Ben failed a drugs test & will be banned so he is not losing earnings nor can he have any claim to compensation. The B sample taken is merely to dictate what illegal substance was in his system to then decide what form of punishment will be handed to Ben. If its recreational or performance enhancing drugs then his ban will be much longer then if it was an excess or banned painkillers. Some painkillers are banned in sport on safety grounds due to side effects such as drowsiness which is far from safe & endangering the other 3 riders on the track at the time so it’s reckless to sign into a meeting as safe to ride if you have taken such strong painkillers which won’t go in Ben’s favour.
