I almost put this in my original post - despite some valid points, it is a recurring theme!

The double up thing really irks me, especially when Premiership teams have riders missing because they're riding in the league below (it's supposed to be the top league after all). I probably won't bother with a season ticket for Wolves next season as I'm sick of seeing riders missing for multiple reasons. Get the Premiership on fixed nights such as Monday and Thursday, then stick the Championship on a Sunday evening or something like that if possible. If you're good enough to be riding in Poland then you shouldn't be riding in the Championship anyway.

http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/6036/ The article speaks for itself but basically he's not riding here next year if we don't move to Monday and Thursday set nights apparently. Not sure if he is on a VISA or anything, maybe one of the Swindon fans know? Also calls British Speedway a lot more dangerous than Polish Speedway because the standard is dropping. But I was wondering how many deaths and really serious injuries there has been in Poland in comparison to GB? I'd guess that there has been more in the former rather than the latter. Then goes on to criticise how poorly tracks are prepared in Britain compared to Sweden and Poland. Raises some valid points to be fair, Buster Chapman in particular should be singled out for the farce he has overseen at Kings Lynn this season which has badly damaged the reputation of British Speedway. The sport needs new direction and a new person to lead it (a CEO type figure)

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
Perton Wolf replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well, we lost by 12 with 2 extra points for a tactical ride so make that 14. Masters retired twice with bike issues Not to mention he's only half fit, as is Riss R/R for Schlein only got 4 Freddie had a rare off night Not a foregone conclusion if we were to make the final (we might not yet) but we will see. Playoffs are a different ballgame usually. -

Masters and Riss still half fit No Schlein No Howarth Lindgren struggling Comfortable win for Swindon as predicted. Masters needs to get his bike issues sorted out by the sounds of it too, packed up twice costing us 4 points tonight. -
Well that's one cat out of the bag, Swindon won't be picking Wolves in the semis. Straight from Jason Doyle: ''“We need to get the best pick possible, we don’t really want to have to go to Wolves and try to race them in the semis.'' http://www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/sport/15504433.Doyle_striving_to_secure_Swindon_top_seed_finish/

Rye House V King's Lynn - Tuesday 29th August.

Probably so but can we just have Kings Lynn relegated anyway? The top division is already enough of a joke at times without Chapman running a club into the ground. -

Kings Lynn deserve to be relegated really. -

Bunch of spoons, I was hoping the Colts would win but left after the first 4 heats after all the last minute changes/injuries. -
From the Swindon Website: SWINDON: 1. Jason DOYLE C 9.63 2. Adam ELLIS 5.00 3. Tobiasz MUSIELAK 7.30 4. David BELLEGO 7.76 5. Nick MORRIS 8.87 6. Tero AARNIO G 4.89 7. G 3.21 Manager: Alun ROSSITER WOLVERHAMPTON 1. Fredrik LINDGREN C 9.13 2. Steve WORRALL G 6.90 3. Rory SCHLEIN R/R 4. Jacob THORSSELL 8.64 5. Sam MASTERS 8.33 6. Mark RISS 4.34 7. Nathan GREAVES 2.39 Manager: Peter ADAMS NB Aarnio for Wilson-Dean Injured Wajtknecht injured guest TBC Howarth / Schlein riding Championship R/R weakens Wolves a fair bit - means a half fit Masters, Worrall and Riss (twice) will have to take extra rides. Should be a fairly comfortable win for Swindon. Hopefully we can keep it competitive though.

Not sure they can if it's been agreed with BT.

I wonder how many were there last night, seemed like a very good crowd anyway. -
Schlein and Howarth will be missing....British Speedway needs to sort out all of this doubling up between the Premiership and the Championship next season, the only guys who should be allowed to do so are young Brits for extra experience.

Amateur hour from Wolves so far - who has rode 2 meetings, us or them? -
I still think Swindon will pick whoever finishes 4th which should be Rye but who knows what Rosco is thinking. Either way, I can see all playoff legs and ties as a whole being very competitive, unlike the BV/Lakeside farce last season.
-
Wolves have had a lot of away losses this season yes but I think we've lost by 1 point 3 times and picked up a consolation point more times than not. If we can keep the away leg deficit down to 6 points or less come the playoffs then I'd usually be confident of bettering that at Monmore. Swindon will be the favourites with Rye House as the dark horses, especially if KK can be bothered (which it looks like he is now he's not in a Poole uniform)

Sounds like there's something in the pipeline in relation to fixed race nights across the top league which COULD help bring back the big name riders, according to Matt Ford anyway. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/15482857.Fixed_race_nights_would_bring_back_top_names__says_Ford/ As for predicting what night/s it could be - maybe Monday and/or Wednesday?
-
Absolute farce how Champ & Prem teams ride on the same night, even more so when you consider that the lower league team getting priority. Sums up how badly organised the sport in the UK is when it's Guests galore for so many meetings.
-
Scored well in Poland this season but was very average for Coventry, don't think the tight and technical British track suit him as much. Speedway is full of unprofessional people, the riders are the same. In any other sport, they wouldn't be arguing with fans on twitter etc !

Riss has apparently been practising at Perry Barr tonight. Riding for Edinburgh on Friday I think too.

I don't think we are favourites though, surely Swindon must be? We haven't been good enough away this season at all unfortunately. -

Worthy of a mention also is Nathan Greaves, has come on leaps and bounds as our 2pt average no7, especially away from home. 4 points tonight is an excellent effort. He's been abysmal unfortunately, appreciate his effort but Greaves has consistently outscored him. -

Well, looks like we might not even get the league point I predicted/was hoping for. Thank God Mark Riss is back after today.
