Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 17/07/17
Perton Wolf replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ridiculous if so. Better off using a Guest such as Starke or Ellis as long as fixtures don't clash - failing that, Ashley Morris at home would be OK. Mark Riss may be back in a few weeks too, or so the rumour was on here. -

I anticipated a close meeting but at the time of the crash we were 10pts up - would've gone on to win by 15 really. So, I don't think that Poole's performance was as truimphant as you make out! But fair play, a win is a win. Lindgren clearly isn't right still fitness wise either, wouldn't say he went "awol" - unlike your fully fit no1 ! -

Still not concerned about Poole come the time of the playoffs though, if we do end up riding against them. Just hope Mark Riss can get back soon because no6 is causing us a real headache. Good score of 5 tonight from Greaves but you can't have your Senior Reserve scoring 2 at home...... -

Clegg was a really poor choice of Guest, why wasn't Ashley Morris used? Unless his average doesn't fit? Not surprised Poole won though, 2 last places from Freddie at home again.....maybe he needs a break from Wolves as more meetings can't be helping is injuries. -

Masters' bike has been absolutely racked off tonight, very little speed. Could clearly see he was worried before the race even started in heat 14. -

Hope Shanes isn't too badly injured either but having Starke take the rest of his rides is a huge advantage. With Thorssell off form and us so weak at reserve covering Kyle's rides, I can only see a Poole win here. -

Clegg proving why we got rid of him earlier in the season - nowhere near good enough. Need our remaining top 4 to save us now. -

Good news, hopefully he can have a good rest for the next 9 days or so. -

Glad to hear that he's conscious. Does anybody know how his remaining 2 rides are covered now - is it by the reserves? -

As far as I'm aware, it's for withholding his services by refusing to ride. As for Batchelor, he was injured (apparently) Rode for Swindon the next day OK though -

Dackarna haven't really performed to expectations this season but that Indianera side looks very much inferior on paper so they should be able to get an away win tomorrow. -

Reserves did well in this meeting I think, just hope that Mark Riss can come back and be fit in time for the playoffs but looks like a long shot. -

Belle Vue is an awesome track (produces better racing than most of the Swedish League tracks for starters) but it is to be expected with the money that was put into the new stadium. -

Really poor from Thorssell tonight. Your second highest average rider scoring 2 points is really not acceptable. Poor night from Freddie too, hopefully he can bounce back vs Poole after 2 below par back to back meetings but you have to think that maybe he's still not 100% fit. He was getting treatment on Monday and his scores in Sweden & Poland haven't been great lately either. -
Clegg isn't good enough to be the senior reserve. I'm still hoping that M Riss returns ahead of schedule and is 100% ready come the playoffs.

Sounds like an attempt to wind a few people up -
Also, it's increasingly hard to see how Belle Vue can win a league championship (which involves winning a final over 2 legs) when the NSS is such an enjoyed track by nearly all riders. Especially your typical continental style riders such as Freddie.

Best (and Worst) Performers Season So Far
Perton Wolf replied to waiheke1's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Schlein has been Wolves' best rider away from home since joining so no surprise to see him high up there. It's also not a surprise that he's picked up a Polish club now too. -
Swindon looking like the darkhorse choice now.
-
Kings Lynn and the relevant people need sanctions/bans brought against them for tonight - what a farce.

To be fair, I watched some Swedish Speedway tonight and it was largely rubbish. There was even a 20 minute delay to fill a hole in on the 1st bend...........so it looks like it's not just always British tracks that are below par as you suggest. Besides, why would Wolves change the shape of their track to accommodate people who aren't Wolves fans? The locals are happy with the track and it produces decent racing with a sizable home advantage most of the time. There are much worse tracks than Wolves anyway, which as stevebrum has pointed out - has been voted best prepared for many years by riders. The monstrosity that is the track at Wimbourne Road needs digging up before we move onto anywhere else. And since when is Harris a word class rider? -
Swedish Elitserien Round 9

Well, that was a bit of a disaster in terms of the track and the meeting as a whole. Good to see PK rolling back the years though, best rider tonight with a notable mention for NKI. -

Poole fans feel the need to troll on nearly every Wolves thread nowadays, a sure sign of how irrelevant their own weak team and god awful track is looking this season.
