Think Cook could be very competitive if he was to qualify for the GPs. Needs to drop Workington and get himself riding in Sweden & Poland full time next season. -

I suspect you won't be saying the same thing in a week's time when we fail to retain our Silver Medal. -

King has been really poor this season - was he really the next guy in line for a team spot? Stupid question I know but I assume Fricke will now take all of Doyle's rides? Just making sure the rules for the SWC are the same as usual before I edit my programme -
Swindon Robins Vs Wolves (29-6-17)

Yes perhaps and I recognise that, hence why I said our no5 in general (whoever that may be) will have to score better if we are to seriously challenge Belle Vue in my view. -

He only scored 6 at Poole too. Will need better from our no5 away from Monmore if we are to retain the title. -

I know he hasn't been great for Leicester this year but he has been riding at no4/no5, I thought he would do OK for us at no2 but I guess not! -

You can get a different opinion from one doctor to the next though. A blanket ban on riding after a concussion is definitely the right rule, the question is what the duration should be. -

Sounds like Rosco is running the Swindon team about as well as he is running Team GB this year! -

Well, Morris shouldn't be allowed to ride if it was indeed a concussion but consistency isn't exactly British Speedway's strongest attribute. From: www.britishspeedway.co/2017_speedway_regulations_website.pdf 8.1.1 Where a rider is withdrawn from a Meeting, due to injury all instructions given by the Medical Officer and noted on the Injured Riders Certificate must be adhered to. 8.1.2 Where a rider suffers Concussion at a Meeting then a fixed period of Suspension will be automatically applied to the riders SCB Registration and the riders FMN will be notified. The minimum period of Registration / Licence suspension will be: Over 20 years of age: 9 days (or more if so indicated by the MO) 16-19 years of age: 12 days (or more if so indicated by the MO) 15 years old and under: 23 days (or more if so indicated by the MO) 8.1.3 Riders, having served the mandatory suspension or other instructions so given regarding other injuries must provide written evidence from their own GP, Surgeon, Specialist or the Meeting Medical Officer, that they are fit to ride prior to resuming racing. -
Compared to the start of the season, still a slight rough patch. But hey ho I guess going off the result of 1 heat is better evidence His away scores have been great though so maybe Monmore doesn't quite suit him like Sheffield does which is understandable.

The Race For The Play-offs

Batch is in very good form at the moment so a good choice of Guest although I'm not sure how he usually goes at Swindon. As for Morris and other Speedway riders, you can't have a fully ticking brain if you actually choose to get on a 500cc engine with no brakes! -

Any idea what will happen at Thursday's meeting? I assume you'll have a Guest for Doyle and possibly for Morris too? -
Howarth seems to have hit a rough patch of form lately at Monmore when compared to his impressive early season start, hopefully he can get back to that sort of form soon.

The Race For The Play-offs

I agree that Belle Vue are the favourites for the league. The injury of Mark Riss is a real shame for us. I do think the B fixture between us will tell us a lot of what to expect though as the A fixtures were with the unchanged teams. -
Poole V Belle Vue Bt Sports 26/6/17
Perton Wolf replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Deserved win for Belle Vue who were the better team at successfully avoiding all the holes and bumps in the Poole track. Must be awful for the riders to ride on. Embarrassing for the top flight of British Speedway that we expect very good riders to consistently put on a great and SAFE show of entertainment with a track like that. Excellent coverage from BT - good to have Natalie presenting with Nigel and Kelvin on commentary instead of doing both jobs like they did on Sky Sports. Belle Vue looking the favourites for the league in my opinion (although we are close behind) but the B fixtures between us and them may tell us a bit more! -
No problem with Clegg being used on Monday since the tie is basically in the bag anyway. Obviously think we should go for a better option such as Ellis, Starke or even Perks for our league fixtures though.

Not me but that's the risk you take in signing him on a bargain average at Reserve. Once that spell at Reserve is done and his average is inflated, he's only going to be very average in the top 5.

Wolves V Leicester 12th June
Perton Wolf replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good win in the end. I feel that Mark Riss is improving with every extra meeting on the track, was putting in a few practice laps after the meeting too. Great to see Freddie back from his injury with a full maximum. Masters and Thorssell solid at home as always. Schlein didn't make any gates which was strange for him but rode well to pass from the back in some races. Don't think Greaves will score any points until his equipment is sorted out after his nasty crash at Ipswich on Thursday, was well off the pace last night. Howarth is proving to be a solid no2 more often than not. As for Leicester, I was once again impressed with Kim Nilsson. Sharp out of the gate and clearly rides Monmore well.
