Newcastle did nothing wrong. Neither did McGregor. They both applied the rules as they are written. They are clear. Whether they are fundamentally right or not is a different question all together.
-
If that's so you will lose at least three tracks!!

I'm sure it was announced on sunday that there was no speedway next week as everyone we are due to play is already riding, and that we will be back on the 17th against Sheffield. Sheffield will have rider priority, even though it is a rearranged fixture, as the Leicester fixture is only a "challenge" and the league fixture will take priority.
-
Err No. Sheffield are in Newcastle on the 17th. I did hear that Redcar were offered a double-header yesterday to get both matches out of the way, but declined.
-
As i've said before the main problem is that the Redcar match is a re-arranged fixture and Robert had already signed a contract to be in Poland BEFORE this fixture was arranged. Still Redcar must be kicking themselves as I believe they were offered the option to run this as a double header to get both fixtures run and they declined.
-
The main problem is the fact that the Redcar fixture is a re-arranged date, and the Polish play-off dates have been in since before the start of the season.

It certainly wasn't because it was wet. Anything but. It was full of holes. People complain about pot holes in public roads damaging cars. Imagine riding a bike at 60mph with no brakes while turning and you can't see how deep the hole is. It was a bit like that. Apart from Paul Starke in heat 4 nobody broke 60.0 last night, and generally speaking the guy who won was a good 2-3 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack, except there was no pack, and everyone was well spread out.

Yes, but he wasn't really making any attempt to pass anyone. Ther track was terrible and dangerous. It hadn't been touched since the "fours" until yesterday. all the ruts that were left over were just filled in with loose stuff. And it just cut up in places and there were holes everywhere when you looked closely at it. Douglas came very close to wiping out Kyle, as Kyle went around the outside of the first two bends in heat 10, as he straightened up in a rut. There was a trench like hole at 90% to the track halfway around bend 1. If you were leading you had half a chance of seeing where the holes were. If you were behind you had no chance because of the dust. All of the riders thought it was dangerous (After all if they don't race they don't make money). The only real passing was on bend 3/4 when the rider in front got into bother by lifting or straightening up unexpectedly. Right decision in my opinion even tho I'm not likely to get anything back. Give the promotion a bit of credit (if the £5:00 offer off is correct), they are not obliged to give a refund/discount of any sort as the meeting went beyond heat 10.

HT always gives good fair comments on Scorpions meetings. Had Auty and MPT ridden as they usually do . the win could have been for Scorpions. However they obviously didn't like or couldn't get on with the dry dusty track! so no blame on them! That's why I like the night meetings....please night meetings next year Rob! The first match was anything but dry and dusty. They couldn't ride the 4 inches of cr*p on the track at the start. They were actually sweeping water OFF the track on bend 3 just before the start and there was a small lagoon on the inside of bend 1.

Redcar V Edinburgh 24/8/17

Talk to the stadium owners. Won't allow Newcastle to do anything to their precious centre green. -
I would think there is every chance they both could be away next year.

Nope!! Not even a brownie point. (I'm that confident, Not) -

I've done all the home and away apart from a weeks holiday earlier in the season. I vaguely remember thinking against Edinburgh that it looked good that we were all in team suits again. But that was the only time as I said. I could just as easily be wrong. Cannot find proof either way. -

I thought he got them the same time as Robbo. I'm sure he wore them against Edinburgh when Robbo first appeared in his. Tho the following week he was back in his other suit, so whether it didn't fit comfortably or I'm mistaken I don't know. Can't find any photo's of the Edinburgh match to prove either way. Thought they would have been in the Peterborough prog but they were all from the Ipswich? match. -
Not really. Glasgow haven't had many free dates either. Besides the winner races either Scunthorpe or Peterborough and their 2nd leg isn't until 22 september. I think it's been agreed that League fixtures take priority because of (the supposed) televised promotion/ relegation match, which is already in the calendar.

Jack Holder And The (lack Of A) 9 Month Ban

I'd be really interested to see what happens if Torun get a rain-off and it's re-arranged for a night Poole are riding. -

You can't even come close to compare the two. Stave was granted compassionate leave to attend the birth of his daughter, as any employer in any industry would do. In fact I believe it's part of employment law nowadays. -

Having a UK visa only affects the UK. If you have a UK visa it doesn't necessarily mean you are free to ride in europe, although their work visa restrictions seem to be less restrictive than ours. Similarly being refused a visa or breaking visa conditions in the UK doesn't mean you will be refused as visa to ride in Europe. Indeed I seem to remember somebody's visa expired and he didn't meet the new criteria to get it renewed so he spent the season riding in continental leagues. -
For Holder or Bacon? You are still one short. I would assume that Holder was named in the original 1-7 advised to Newcastle 72? hours beforehand as per the regs. They probably would not know FOR CERTAIN that he would be riding for Torun this weekend, especially after his poor performance last week. Personally I would fine Peterborough for deliberately fielding an understrength side. And i would fine Holder for a no show. Let's say a guestimate as to how much he would earn riding in Poland x2 + £1000.

If that were the case then he'd be top of the averages which he isn't (Or are there 10 to 20 other riders who are too good for the championship). Must be a hell of a track at Torun (which it isn't) if he thinks riding 3 or 4 meetings at the end of the season for a poor polish team is going to bring on his career leaps and bounds, as opposed to honoring your contract and earning respect rather than the instant readies.. Three or four years down the line no doubt he'll be bleating like his brother when someone dumps him (and it probably won't be a british team).
