Cost Cutting For 2018 & Previous Seasons
Call me wolfie replied to Ghosty's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As you say, it will never happen -
I believe Nathan has got himself a winter job to help his financesI would say if we go for Freddie it will be Max Clegg at 7, or with Jacob it will be Nathan, each one will give us a similar amount for the 2 remaining riders.
-
Don't know was hoping more like 3 to be honest, agreed wouldn't be worth the risk at 5, surely his average wouldnt be higher than Woryna, that would just be a joke
-
The youview+ box is the same one you get with BT by the looks of it
-
Where was that? Saw him ride in the golden hammer and he beat Ashley Morris, Max Clegg and gave Dan Bewley a run for his money on his first time around Monmore, that's what I'm basing it on
-
He has 2 teams in mind, one with Freddie and one with Jacob so I'll trust he knows what he's doing. I still think Broc Nicol would be worth a punt, he could surprise a few people
-
True, their options are already very limited anyway
-
CVS is finding it hard enough to bin one of them let alone two
-
Nor a bad looking team given the restrictions but wouldn't be surprised if Holder senior was heading your way after Pooles latest signing
-
Zagar would be a 9 as no 2017 average
-
Agreed, such a positive influence last year
-
I thought that was only last year, PK came back in 2016 mid season for us Third signing to be announced today. Schlein or Ricky Wells is my guess
-
The strange part is all gp riders will be a 9 average except a certain ex world champion who will be 7.18. How is that right? Could someone please explain, I know the official reason is because he has an official 2017 average but surely that proves that 9 is a totally unrealistic figure, especially for the likes of Vaculik in his first season over here Who knows
-
Possibly, my understanding is that we have one more signing to announce this week then we can't do anything else until the number 1 position is filled, so the longer the tv deal drags on for, the more likely it is we will choose Jacob I would have thought
-
Forcing out loyal quality riders isn't the way to go,Doyle has allegedly phoned Wolves offering his services next year as he is desperate to ride over here but what chance does he have. Freddie and Jacob have nearly 20 years loyalty to Wolves between them but one of them has to be told they're not required next year. But for Sam Masters' injury it would would have been a choice of 1 from 3. The few top riders that do remain will end up with massively inflated averages come this time next year. What will happen then?
-
No Ricky Wells??? Fair enough, we'll have him back then
-
It's not a shame, it's a farce
-
The advantage of going with Freddie would be if he was struggling with his injury we could replace him with Jacob due to his lower average but not vice versa (assuming of course Jacob didn't sign for anyone else)
-
Why were they unable to vote?
-
You would think that as it was Poole who proposed it and they will be the main benefactors of it
-
CVS said on saturday one more signing has been agreed and will be announced this week, and that's as far as he can go until a decision has been made re Freddie or Jacob. Also said he was asking fans to make the decision for him as he wasnt prepared to as they have both been loyal to him
-
I wouldn't read too much into that, he lives round the corner from Pete so probably just wants his mechanic close to him
-
But just because it would be proved not viable in Leicester doesn't mean it wouldn't be at Brandon or another site in Coventry. I sympathise with your situation, damned if you do and damned if you don't
-
It's mainly to solve doubling up issues not to attract gp riders
