  1. For the integrity of the league, ALL fixtures should be completed, otherwise the NL might just as well run challenge matches all season except for maybe 1 cup that all teams enter. That way meetings should be completed.
  2. I hope it rains for the rest of the month so these clubs don't complete these fixtures. Then it will show how pathetic they are, and how much disdain they show for the sport. Eastbourne can't ride on the warmest day of the year because there is a Football match on 3 hours later, and now Coventry can't get a tractor to go round for a few times in 7 hours.
  3. If you all ran meetings during the summer when Speedway is meant to be run, you could all be packed up now instead of sitting around watching in the damp and cold.
  4. To be honest, both sides had probably had enough by then and made a gentlemans agreement. As for the curfew, I really don't believe there is one as I have been going to Rye House for many years and never heard of one before and several times in the past have been at the track until nearly 11.pm. It seems strange that one week when results matter, meetings can go on until 11pm, then the following week when the second result doesn't matter after heat 13, it suddenly becomes a curfew issue.
  5. As stated by your own promoter, only the Ref can call it off early. Don't blame Lakeside as I suspect Peterborough weren't that bothered either.
  6. Meeting would not have been restaged as it had passed the point where a result could be declared.
  7. Now that Lakeside have got through to the Final, will Workington stage a double header to complete the League fixtures.
  8. Respect due. It would have been very easy to call it off and accept defeat, but to battle on against the adversity shows what can be achieved with some effort.
  9. How do you know Lakeside are refusing to ride? Are you there? Why would Lakeside refuse to ride as they are 12 points ahead on agg and unlikely to concede 4 5-1 in the last 4 heats. If meeting is abandoned, result would stand and Lakeside go through without refusing to do anything.
  10. I am not quite sure, but I think any new club wanting promotion to the FL can't have an Athletics Track around the pitch. Also, I believe Rotherham might have been given dispensation because a new ground was planned. West Ham were just allowed to bend the rules completely because they are Premier. Any other club would not have been permitted to do what they have done(mainly moving into another clubs post code)
  11. You have explained exactly what West Ham have to do to cover the Athletics Track from being visible.(Premiership clubs seem to get away with doing what they like, as there was a written rule that stated no club can relocate within 3 miles of another League clubs postcode, which is why Orient kicked up a fuss, but were just over run) Gateshead would not be allowed to play at their Stadium if they get promoted from the NL. Looking on Google Earth, selling off Derwent Park and redeveloping Borough Park for both sports, with the Speedway behind on the old dog track would look like a good option.
  12. Generally, Football fans like to be as close to the pitch as possible and don't like viewing across a Athletics/Speedway Track. Also , it impacts greatly on atmosphere at Football Grounds. If, and I hope it does go ahead, a new purpose built stadium is created, then it would be done with the future in mind, and if Workington FC suddenly had a couple of good seasons, they wouldn't be allowed back into the FL with a Speedway Track around the pitch. Gateshead in the NL have the same problem, as if they win the League they cannot play League Football at their International Stadium.
  13. If Doyle was knocked -out even in practice, isn't there a minimum time before he can race again(7days?)
  14. As I am someone who has completely lost the plot over rules and regulations, can someone please explain the following: Kent's no1 is missing and no facility is allowed(I understand so far) so how come they now have a guest at no1, and R/R for Thomas? Shouldn't it be R/R at no1 and guest at no5, or am I missing something that is allowed.
  15. Just seen that Boxall refused a drugs test and is banned. Did that happen at the track, or earlier in the day? Also, I thought that Dugard had signed for Plymouth but is not listed as riding, and is there a facility given for Webster.
  16. I would imagine that someone related to the BSPA must be reading this forum, so wouldn't it be nice for once, for them to come on here and fully explain what the actual rules are concerning rider availability for Poole's match tomorrow. As far as I know, UK has priority on a Monday over all other Nations Speedway, so if Josh decides to chase the cash in Poland then he should get the mandatory 28 day ban, and Poole should only be allowed a NL rider in replacement. If Poole have a complaint against it, then they should be the ones insisting to Josh that he has to ride over here, as he is contracted to them. If any other facility is made available to Poole, then it just shows that the rules are a farce, and it's another nail in the coffin.
  17. The way Speedway is at the moment, take 100 away and Cubs will be running in empty Stadiums.
  18. Slightly off topic, but Darts was removed from a lot of Pubs and more eating tables put in. 3 Pubs where I used to play did this saying that Darts is on only Friday nights, but people eat 7 days a week.
  19. This is the time for all clubs to stick together and for once forget self-interest. They all need to refuse to ride anymore meetings until the BSPA come out with a full and comprehensive explanation as to why they have suddenly stopped clubs from riding on a Friday Night. Are they going to compensate any fans that have bought season tickets on the back of the published fixture list at the start of the season? Fans have been treated badley for many years now, but this surely has to be the final straw. This farce has to stop and a complete overhaul and rethink needs to be done openly and with all clubs having an imput.
  20. Can someone please tell me what other events are held at the Stadium that suddenly prevents Coventry from riding, when their fixtures were known ages ago.
  21. Is anyone else going to this meeting, or are they all watching the Football?
  22. I can see a manipulation of the averages now to let some clubs pick up Rye riders.
  23. Maybe to allow Belle Vue to move their racenight to Friday, and make sure all their riders are available instead of Championship sides having preference. It is no secret that BV are in dire sh*t and Bspa wouldn't want to loose another team, let alone the the NSS being left idle.
  24. When is the deadline for signing riders.
  25. I don't go to Speedway to see so-called big names, I go because it's Rye House v Whoever. I go to see the 7 Rye riders against 7 riders from the opposition. How many times have a Team turned up only for their star man to have been injured last night in Sweden/Denmark/Poland etc. I won't go if it is pre-publicised that the away side are running R/R + 2 guests. I also think that if a rider is going to be out injured for more than 28 days, then they should be forced to sign someone else instead of running R/R all season. It is nice to have riders such as Bomber, Scotty & KK at Rye, but I would be just as happy to have say, Wells, Shanes & Garrity riding, as it would still be 7 Rye riders. I think most people go to Speedway to watch a match, not individual riders. On a previous post about fans stop going after LA left Swindon, why didn't they all return when Doyle(so called star name) was there. It isn't about Star names anymore, it's about 7 Riders in a Team, on a night that suits and continuity of a fixture list.
