  1. We attended the meeting tonight. In Edward's first race, he pulled up on the 3rd lap and coasted around to the finish. We assumed it was a mechanical issue until they announced that he was being attended to by the medics. He was then withdrawn citing a "wrist injury".
  2. What time start is the meeting with Kent Eagles. Also, it says 2nd leg, when will the first leg take place.
  3. I also got a notification that the old forum had crashed and would not be returning, and a link was attached to the new forum. I signed up and after several days this one returned. I now look at both to see if i have missed anything.
  4. I am afraid that the council are spineless. Why have they just stood back and looked at a Stadium being illegally destroyed, and watched buildings being constructed without planning permission. They should of gone and locked the gates and put up a barrier to prevent entry, until a resolution has been agreed. I imagine the Council will just relent in the end to save a further long drawn out battle.
  5. Thanks. Will be attending Friday's meeting with Poole so will have a look.
  6. Thanks for the reply. Now that i know that there were Chargers & Spires Badges produced, i will try contacting Oxford to see if they have any left.
  7. Hi All, Could anyone tell me if there were any Oxford Spires/Chargers metal Badges produced. Thanks.
  8. First time visit and this is my observations. Firstly, why is there no signs anywhere directing you to Northampton Shaleway. Driving along the Bedford Road(A428) towards Braefield, where you turn right into Horton Road there should be a big sign pointing the way. Not just for Speedway, but what about the Stocks who get far bigger crowds. Parking was easy and organised. Once in the Stadium, the Burger Bar could of done with a third person serving. Prices were a lot cheaper than i have been paying at many Cricket Grounds this summer. Long queues for the bar(on a hot night) and again they could of done with another person serving. The crowd was bigger than when i went to Belle Vue last week. I'd guess 1,500-2,000. Racing was ok but mainly follow the leader after the 1st/2nd bends. Why was the track not watered more often. After heat 4 & heat 7 the tractor graded but no water put down. By heat 9 things were getting uncomfortable with the dust, apart from being on my hair & skin, it was starting to make my eyes sting. At interval after heat 10, track was watered and rest of meeting was bearable with minimal dust. Not to many problems getting out after meeting ended. Overall though, an enjoyable evening and i would attend again, but not on a regular basis as i live 70 miles away. Was told they are putting a roof on the stand in the close season and only other thing is could they not have a scoreboard, for those that don't fill programmes. Surprised there isn't one for the Stock racing.
  9. Why only a proposal for a possible Speedway site. Why not build the Speedway Stadium first, then do the landscaping and play areas, finally build the homes.
  10. i have just tried it on my Laptop and it says "your programme will start soon". I thought it started at 2pm, it's now 2.15pm and nothing.
  11. I have clicked on the box for the Speedway(on HBO) but it's not loading or showing it
  12. For those people who have already been to Northampton. is there any merchandise available yet? I after a couple of metal Badges if they have produced any yet.
  13. Has anyone got the heat times from tonight please.
  14. Are there any Kent Eagles Badges available to buy?
  15. I thought when Hackney closed and they demolished most of the buildings in and around Waterden Road for the 2012 Olympic site, that a Speedway Track was to be incorporated somewhere within that site.
  16. They may be good at welcoming fans, but not very good at sending out merchandise purchased online. Took payment rapidly but not replied to 4 further emails.
  17. And probably bust again before the season is done. I understand that the crowds have really dropped from the opening day. Maybe because there hasn't been a really successful team, and next season must be a worry as people won't turn out to see a side lose every week. I would guess that the area of Workington can only appeal to a certain amount of Speedway fans, and most of those will only go if the Comets are winning all the time. Hope i've got it all wrong,(and good luck) but it must a worry.
  18. My point was that with Football getting about 800 or so, and Speedway getting on average 800+ or so, 50% of those people probably go to both. I can't see why either one would want to go in direct competition with each other. Both could of been changed one way or another, but it seems strange that they didn't want to.
