Belle Vue -V- Northampton

Cairns is a young man who as stated is making steady progress in his career. I was shot down by other members stating he shouldn’t miss league meetings for SGP commitments but Will and all the other young brits are our future stars. Riding in Europe can only improve their growing skills. -
IainB, British Speedway needs our youngsters to gain experience from the best in the world and I for one have no problem with them wanting to do just this. We need more backup to Bewley and Lambert and riding just in our domestic league isn’t enough. Tom Brennan and Dan Thompson are getting there but it takes time and effort and I fully support any British rider wanting to go down this route.

Think we need to calm down a tad, we were outridden in both legs and we can rue this and that but at the end of the day with low scoring reserves and heat leaders not performing we aren’t going to win. Berwick fully deserved the result and I have already sent my congrats, cooper was unlucky yes but would it have changed the outcome I don’t think so. Riders have to earn a living so riding in other leagues and countries is a given. We regroup and move on to the next match.

I’ve watched speedway for over 50 years and in my honest opinion the bikes have become too powerful for the tracks. Once these riders hit the dirt line they are gone, as was depicted at the recent GP in Manchester. On the first night Frick gated and was gone with each rider subsequently following his line. I thought the second night produced better racing, but over the years I’ve witnessed riders going wider and wider only inches from the fence. I don’t have any immediate answers but unfortunately engine progress is ultimately defining the sport we enjoy. I never thought I’d see the day when a speedway rider would have a laptop plugged into his bike!

Edinburgh Monarchs Vs Poole Pirates 29th May 2026
Deltalima replied to Bitza's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Seems like we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t. The lads got stuck in and nearly pulled off the win but overall they gave a good account of themselves. You can forever call the if, buts and maybe but at the end of the day the riders can only race the opposition on track. I was pleased for Kyle as he gave it his all and that’s all you can ask for. Wills and Cooper will only learn from the experience and people thinking that they will wipe out their opposite reserves everywhere they go need to give them a break. These lads and many other youngsters are the future of British speedway and will only improve over time. -
Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
Deltalima replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Outgated in nearly every heat says it all. Congrats to Oxford who were better on the night. Pleasing to see CR and WC getting stuck in. Tracks same for both teams so you have to adapt accordingly. -
Scunthorpe v Poole 10/4/26 KO Cup second leg

Well done to scunny, it makes all the difference when your second heat leader comes to the party. Some great racing and nice to see the young brits getting stuck in. I thought Newman battled well for us and is proving his worth. Showmanship from Josh, how the hell did he control that!! Reminds me of the wheely that Loram pulled at the Cardiff GP. All in all an entertaining meeting with pluses on both sides. -
Its all ifs buts and maybes but at the ends of the day we were simply not good enough. Congrats to Ipswich who fully deserved it, hopefully the Poole management can get rid of Kurtz and Holder as no team can win any meeting with a misfiring top two and far too many times this season they have been found wanting.

Poole vs Kings Lynn 12/09/19
Deltalima replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well I have just returned home and have to say what a let down that was as upon arriving I find out that Robert Lambert isn’t here. For the paying punter it sucks and really is a kick in the teeth for British speedway. Fair play to young Chad he looked eager to please and gave it his all but the whole episode just puts a dark cloud over proceedings. I like my team to win but this spoilt what could have been an entertaining meeting. Oh well onto monday -
Maybe but Nico was caught and passed by both Becker and Morris down the back straight and never troubled them after that. I just don’t think that we have the pedigree of riders that wolves and Swindon seem to have. jack and Brady will no doubt improve but Brady again was found wanting in Heat 15. I just don’t see that sharpness and mental ability to deal with the pressure.

Poole v Belle Vue Thurs 2nd May 2019
Deltalima replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nice to see Richie getting amongst the points but Josh struggling. Think Belle Vue just ran out of steam but its early days, Bewley looked good for his first few rides then tailed off but I.m sure that’s down to fitness. I thought Lidsey looked a promising prospect considering he has not ridden the track before but he attacked it. The rest of the Poole team got stuck in and were rewarded with a win which I”ll take at the moment. Very surprised with motm but maybe the sponsors saw something I didn’t”!! -
Poole v Somerset. prem B 27/8/18 12.30pm.
Deltalima replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Every time we face Somerset Brady has a mare of a meeting so if Jack was Poole’s No8 I think the opposite is true! As already stated Richie is a concern and their are still too many inconsistencies within the team that will hurt us further down the line. Even Chris was a little subdued maybe cause the track wa slick and he had no dirt to work with. I was talking to Kevin Smith during the meeting and some of his observations were spot on. Let’s hope the lads up their game tonight and keep the score line close or maybe scrape a win, I live in hope!!!
