  1. The ref can only act on what he sees ..... Or what is reported by an official, but ...... That's where the "3 monkey syndrome" kicks in OR the "gob" that wants a rider banned As I've said before, speedway is a high adrenaline sport and red mist is almost certain to descend occasionally For the record, I do not condone mechanics involvement except to pull the hyper riders away and calm the situation down
  2. Or take it to personal messages and give us all peace. It's in the past now and won't be changed so it's time to move on as you will obviously never agree
  3. That was shaping up to be a very interesting meeting with some cracking racing as both teams were really going for it but the downside of our sport reared its ugly head again. Firstly best wishes to Lewis, Dan (and Sam) I was told that Lewis's chain broke so that would explain his sudden stoppage. It looked nasty but full marks to Max Clegg who laid his bike down in a heartbeat or it could've been much worse Poor Sam must've wondered what the #### was happening when Dan's runaway bike clobbered him from behind. First report is that he has lost some skin from his arm and a groin injury. Dan and Lewis will be huge misses to us and NC ...... Get well soon lads
  4. I don't know how these Federations get away with threatening riders to get their own way! They organised the fixtures for the same day so the fault is entirely theirs! I suppose we should be grateful they didn't want Mark as well and Kevin is on the wrong side of 21
  5. From last night's programme:- Erik is off to Finland tomorrow for the third leg of the World long track Grand Prix. After the second leg in Holland on Monday Erik leads the Championship by eleven points. Tomorrow was also due to be the day that the European Under 21 Team championships take place. When the German federation realised that Erik wouldn't be available they changed it to Sunday. Erik declined to ride in that event, preferring to be at Newcastle and that prompted the Germans to threaten a ban
  6. Well done Glasgow, taking no risks and doing what was required...... It's up to you now to keep the trophy North of the border
  7. Pity we have to go without Erik who goes well at Brough, we'll need a big effort from everyone else
  8. OK I'm bored but here goes:- Sing this little ditty to the The Carpenters, Rainy days and Monday's ....... Talking to wee Dan and feeling old Forecast's the same again, nothing ever seems to change Hanging around nothing to do but frown Rainy days on Fridays always get me down Some they say to cover up the track Either way we're sure to take some flack Hanging around listening to the others scoff Rainy days on Fridays always pxxx me off
  9. I'll be watching this one wishing I was there as I think it will be a cracker. Safe meeting for all and may the best team win..... Being Scottish..... Hope it's Glasgow (did I actually say that?)
  10. I would've been gutted if we hadn't taken a point at the end after such a close meeting throughout. Just goes to show, you can never write our lads off, it was harder without Ryan but they got on with the job Well done to both teams for what sounds like an excellent speedway meeting (wish I'd been able to go) The boy Dan...... Superb!!!!!!! 100% talent and a natural on a bike
  11. Will be tough without Ryan, whereas their changes bolster them, but I hate to say that the damn Friday forecast may intervene again
  12. I don't necessarily want to see anyone banned. Speedway is a high adrenaline sport and these things will happen from time to time, I still don't condone it but two wrongs don't = one right
  13. Taken from updates site Quote:- "Fisher off in ambulance but not before Starke rushed over and attempted to assault him while Fisher was still lying under the air fence" I am well aware Ryan is no angel but I have heard from some supporters today who were there and have said that the "red mist" was all Pauls and the referee instantly turned on his exclusion light Get well soon Ryan
  14. Not very confident after last night, but you never know what these 7 lads can produce!!! I hope Kevin has sorted out whatever was wrong Safe meeting for all
  15. I wasn't there so I can't comment on Ryan's move on Paul but everyone seems to be dodging the fact that Paul attacked Ryan whilst down and injured and that is not acceptable behaviour And before the Weegies all dive on their keyboards re - Sam, I didn't condone his actions either and said so at the time...... You cannot defend the indefensible and that now includes Paul
  16. Hope Ryan is ok...... Don't envy him a trip to hospital, hope he gets seen quickly Well done Sommerset and good luck to Jake in the U21's
  17. Still stuck at home and gutted not to be at OTA tonight (or Sheffield tomorrow) Safe meeting for all. Tough meeting ahead
  18. I have a question too plz...... I was under the impression that every race in a GP had to be decided over 4 laps and could not be awarded. I was happy for poor Bomber that the race was awarded BUT ........ What is the rule?
  19. Sorry but I may be the only person happy with a rain-off last night as I wasn't well enough to go and was gutted at missing Cookie! Sad news for Panthers89 but I'm glad Graeme sorted your refund quickly and I hope you enjoy Berwick tonight. Cookie is usually majestic round Shielfield
  20. Thanks boys, wish I'd been there to cheer you on but at least it kept my mind off my sore leg for an hour and a half....
  21. Ryan was hit by the Rye House rider which caused him to lift in the first instance so ref called it right - 1st bend all 4 back
