  1. It was always going to be a strange decent to run 2 sides a NDL and a Championship side
  2. I’m sure Mike Smith rode for the Vikings around 2000
  3. He was a star that year and I’m sure every rider rode at number1 that year
  4. 17 years today Hull Vikings completed a treble at championship level by winning Knockout Cup, Young Shield and the League in 2004 , sadly out of the 7 riders Emil Kramer died 12 yrs ago in his homeland in a car crash and Garry Stead is now in a wheelchair following a speedway accident . The other 5 riders were Paul Thorp,Ross Brady ,Emiliano Sanchez, Joel Parsons and Magnus Karlson who brought silverware to Craven Park ,. Great days and great racing back then in the 2nd tier that had 15 teams competing at that level with no riders that doubled up in the league higher back then. The really sad thing is out of the 15 teams competing in that season 9 of them are now defunct teams Hull Vikings ,Workington Comets, Stoke Potters, Isle of Wight Islanders, Rye House Rockets, Exeter Falcons, Somerset Rebels ,Reading Racers & Newport Wasps so the moral of the story is support your local side and speedway or we won’t have speedway to watch in years to come
  5. I’m sure the next to be announced will be Ben Baker
  6. No one knows how the “Rising Star “ situation will pan out for the second season next year and I’m sure only one of the twins are classed as a rising star
  7. Anyone heard any rumours of how the leagues will be set and the Team average to start the season
  8. Brilliant words from Scotty Nichols in the interview on tv ,praising the Peterborough riders from no 1 to 7 and dedicating the win to Colin Pratt a true legend
  9. A sportsman should take pride in what he does in both leagues
  10. If I was a Redcar fan I would be livid with how Tofty is riding tonight compared to his poor scoring at Edinburgh earlier in the week
  11. This decision is taken in the best interest of the Rider himself and the riders in whatever heat he competes in , it’s not a measure to hurt Leicester its to protect Hans
  12. I’m hoping it rains and the track gets really wet ,let’s see the Pirates crying again
  13. Well it’s semi finals day and Leicester travel to Poole tonight ,I think this will be a lot closer then people will expect . The Lions will be chomping at the bit after being picked by the Pirates for the semi clash at Gaters Paradise ( Wimborne Rd) . Both sides will have guests in there side and it will depend on them on how this tie will go . score forecast Pirates 49 Lions 41
  14. Why should Scunthorpe be thrown out of the competition 1~ they fulfilled all there fixtures before the original cut off date and didn’t need the extension 2- Scunthorpe had medical cover and an ambulance for the first leg So I’m sure it’s Leicester promotion who is at fault ??? please get facts right
  15. What has Godfrey got to do with this ,I’m sure Rob will want the meeting out of the way and close Scunthorpe speedway for the season . Some people are delusional
  16. I’m sure all clubs use volunteer organisations for there ambulance cover and medical staff . This then has to be headed by a fully qualified paramedic , surely there is a St John’s type organisation what would provide a service and be local with a trained paramedic in the same situation . A sad situation when by mid October there will still be two semi finals and a final over two legs still to be raced and it’s mid October
  17. Now you know that the league original cut off date should not have been extended
  18. That is a p*ss poor side ,so glad I won’t be there
  19. Can’t see Dougy been back at the EWR but in Tero and Theo’s absence I’m hoping minimum change to be fair , Ellis will be on a cracking average so if possible let’s sign him up . Rumours circulating that TJ is Redcar bound is possible now that Jake has become a Scunny asset as Iron Scorpion has stated what happens to the rising stars ?? I will go on been 2 young guns in each side so hear goes Adam Ellis ,Jordan Palin,Dan Gilkes Connor Mountain ,Jake Allen ,Simon Lambert Stevie Worrall
  20. I’m sure meetings between promoters up and down the land have already been taken and agreed . But with this season still running in the Premiership and championship getting towards the final playoffs there won’t be any concrete news on next seasons set ups until this seasons finals are complete
  21. Anyone go in the clubhouse after the meeting if so what was the announcement ?
  22. Agree 100%. Sides that pushed on with meetings will now have a bigger chance of rain offs in October and potentially lose money on a rain off
  23. If the original cut off dates would have been adhered too by clubs then this weekend would be finals weekend
