  1. I am finding it very hard to keep my interest as SWR have stopped running the late train that enabled me to get back to Wimbledon from Poole meetings and Wightlink have cancelled the late ferry that enabled me to get home from Warriors meetings. IOW is also affected by SWR not running the late train and the BSPL stitching them up. The fact that Wightlink are one of the Warriors sponsors just puts the icing on the cake!
  2. Because the alternative is a five team league! Try thinking about the whole sport instead of following the BSPL normal policy of only thinking about the track they run / you support.
  3. The figure 8 track is only used by Bangers. The Stock Cars only use the oval track.
  4. I have never been to Mendips Raceway but understand that that the bends of the current track are tight and also the track is on the side of a hill. Sadly I do not think it would be possible to have a speedway track either on or inside the current track. EDIT:- I have just had a look at some photos from Mendips Raceway and maybe the bends are not too tight for an inside track but the centre green area appears to be raised which means a lot of earth moving would be needed.
  5. While it is possible to lay shale on top of a tarmac track as has been done at Northampton, it has to be remembered that the South Western based F2 Stock Car drivers do not like shale and would not be happy to have one of their tracks changed to shale.
  6. I use the ferry to catch a train back to Wimbledon so I hope that things change soon. The club are always so welcoming that I would hate to miss out due to the catamaran being cancelled.
  7. The quote appears to have vanished! I am very interested in what is happening with the Warriors as I want to visit at least twice during the season but currently a day trip is not possible due to the sponsors cancelling the boat that runs after the end of the meeting.
  8. Do the same as we did last year is the only plan they ever have.
  9. I feel sorry for King's Lynn having to suffer with your manager. I was a regular at Rye House for the last few seasons and he was the worst manager ever. What he says is rubbish and his tactics are even worse.
  10. At Rye House during the last season and a half before it closed the Home riders would do a lap of honour waving to the crowd most of the time. In 2019 I only went to two meetings at Isle of Wight and there the home riders always come round and away team race winners were encouraged to do a lap of honour by the home promotion.
  11. The BSPL preview lists five riders plus rider replacement with Danny King not mentioned!
  12. I forgot West Ham, Reading, Belle Vue (the real one with The Bobs big dipper at the end of the home straight) and Somerset. Makes my record even worse!
  13. I think I am a jinx. Regular at Wimbledon, Hackney, New Cross, White City (London), Crayford, Romford, Rye House, Arena Essex and Skegness plus visited Cradley, Coventry, Canterbury, Rochdale and Exeter. Only tracks I have seen racing at that are still running are Eastbourne and Isle of Wight.
  14. It has a new look every Thursday with news and photos.
  15. Berwick, Glasgow and Cowdenbeath are all under the Scottish FA. It is English FA who don't allow a track around a football pitch. As I understand it the reason is they want the crowd to be closer to the pitch.
  16. Sorry, I don't know when the rule was introduced.
  17. I saw racing at Romford, it was a VERY narrow track with a concrete wall that was the fence. It existed before the FA made their rule.
  18. The big problem is that the FA will not allow a football league team to play at a stadium that has a speedway or stock car track around it. The Scottish FA don't have the rule which means that Cowdenbeath Racewall is allowed around the football pitch.
  19. When I was involved with Arena Essex, on the Stock Car side, we were told that catch fencing had to be installed but the two sets of H&S who were involved said they would close us down if we built it according to what their opposite number wanted. Took a lot of work and some cunning to get something they would both accept. I lost all faith in local councils at that point.
  20. When we had our first injection both the cards had mistakes crossed out so when we had our second injection we both asked for a new card with all the details correct as we said that the airlines would not accept any corrections. That was no problem and we now have them correct.
  21. My wife and I had our second injection on Friday and we were both given the cards with our name, date of the two injections and what batch/make of vaccine we had received. It appears that different parts of the NHS are doing things differently.
  22. Talk about Bank Holiday doubles reminds me of the TRIPLES my parents and I went to for a few seasons. Rayleigh Speedway in the late morning followed by Rayleigh for PRI Bangers and either Anglia Rods or Mini Rods in the afternoon followed by the dash to Wimbledon for the evening Speedway. All done on public transport from Southfields with my mother having prepared a good lot of food that we had to carry around but at least the bags got lighter as the day went on. In later years White City and Walthamstow doubles were also good but did not involve Speedway.
  23. The Speedway Tavern earlier this week both Barry and Martin made it clear that the lack of consultation and discussion was the real problem.
  24. I hope they can remember where they stored all the parts and there has to be a question on when they will be allowed into Wales to collect the parts with the present rules around movement.
