I agree that a scoreboard should be at every stadium but then I was brought up at Wimbledon who used the dog racing boards they had from the time I started going in 1959. They had the heat result, time and score up on the board. Could be very useful if the speakers were not working too well.

Chocolate pudding with chocolate custard by any chance!

Please put the Q&A onto the website. I enjoyed the video of the NICE 2v Challenge, just wish I had got to see it live.

Thank you for that information. Very sad whenever a rider get hurt.

Now you have us all in suspense over what happened in heat four! How about the polite and impartial version, if such a thing ever exists in sport.

Will British Speedway Survive ?
Chris116 replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is called Isle of Wight, Smallbrook Stadium! Sadly not going to work the way we would all like. -
I have two model railway magazines on subscription and one of them charges me £3.45 a month by direct debit. Maybe you need to push your bank a little harder as Bauer Media can do it with their bank.

Because Scumball is the god of TV and the press. At the very least they should be showing a mixture of sports and moving towards summer sports of which speedway is one that is shown on a regular basis. -

My thanks to both Isle Of Wight and Edinburgh for the videos they are showing while there is no live speedway. Also looking forward to the double header from Eastbourne tomorrow. I have no doubt that other teams are also doing this but those are the three I know about and they deserve our grateful thanks for their efforts. I wonder how many away wins will feature???? -

Will British Speedway Survive ?

Don't promote it to kids, promote it to the parents as something to take the kids to. I never understand this thing about not running on an evening when there is school the next day. When I was at school my parents took me every week to Wimbledon which ran on a Monday evening and there were lots of other school age kids there. Why are today's families unable to do what families happily did in the 50's and 60's? -

Promoting to young families is a very good idea in my opinion. The young adults will hopefully become lifelong fans and their kids become the next generation to take their kids and so a production line of new fans is created. My grand father took my father who then introduced his girlfriend to the sport. He married that girlfriend and they introduced me to the racing at a very young age. If you can introduce under 16's some of them will become lifelong fans some will drop out but possibly return later in life and some will not like racing and will find thing they enjoy. The important thing is to maximise the number in the first two groups and to do that you need to attract the 25 to 40 year old with their families and friends. -
Shame it is on Facebook. I used to enjoy keeping in touch with people who I know on there but sadly two years ago I got an obscene message from an unknown person. I therefore wrote to Facebook with a copy of the message to ask them to block the original sender or take such action as they thought fit. They wrote back to say that as I had sent them an obscene message I was banned for life and no further correspondence would be entered into! So I sent them a message to say they could put Facebook where the sun doesn't shine and I have never returned although a number of friends have told me how I could get around their ban. As far as I am concerned there is no way I would ever return although there are many times I wish that I had never complained to them. Please can you do the live streams on other formats so I can enjoy the videos?

World Finals World Finals - Out of 10
Chris116 replied to RPNY's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I was taken to the 58, 59, 60, 62, 63, 65 and 67 Wembley finals with the 59 win by my hero Ronnie Moore being my favourite. My mother loved the 62 final as Peter Craven who she adored won. I had not wanted to go in 62 as the Spedeworth F2 World Final was at our local Wimbledon but I had to wait until the second meeting to see the Spedeworth cars. By 1969 I was deemed old enough to go by myself to the Superstox (as the Spedeworth F2's had become) World Final at Wimbledon while my parents went to Wembley for the Speedway and my mother was very unhappy when she got home and found that her Stock Car hero, Alan Wardropper, had won the Superstox crown! Sadly she never saw him race with the Gold roof as he went to South Africa for a winter tour and retired from racing before he returned to this country. The Wembley atmosphere was, as many have said, magic. But then Wimbledon with a full house for either Speedway or Stock Cars also had that magic feeling and so did many other tracks. An empty stadium will never get that feeling even if the racing is wonderful. -
The late, great "White Ghost", tragically killed at Sydney Sports Ground in 1951. Rode for New Cross, Newcastle and Ashfield (Glasgow). Having been brought up on the large Australian tracks things did not go well for Ken at New Cross, hence the move to Newcastle who he moved with to Glasgow. I know my father thought he was very spectacular but I never saw him as I was not born until three and a half years after his death.

Will the premiership start on time?
Chris116 replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The original question was " Will the Premiership start on time?" Simple answer - NO Nothing else can really be said about the question unless you expand it to "When will the Premiership start?" Simple answer - No one knows what is going to happen in the future but if anyone does I suggest they invest in the Lottery. -
Definition of "expert" An "ex" is a has been and a "spert" is a drip under pressure. Just watch any TV news channel for proof of this.

Right now I have actually started to understand why my wife watches "Judge Judy", no news and a small amount of humor (note it is not "humour" in USA and wife is american. I keep trying to explain that the language is called ENGLISH so we in ENGLAND have the say in how it is spelt but she just doesn't understand.

Wishing a speedy recovery to Martin and all the very best to all at the Warriors.

The strong possibility that there would be no medical cover sadly means how many people might pay becomes of no interest. Very sad but we all need to help each other through this and hope that we, businesses, sports and life as we know it survives. -
If you don't test then you appear to have a very high number of deaths per 100 cases which is exactly what I would have thought the government would not want but maybe they want the panic to continue, who knows. Must make life for health professionals very difficult, you have my best wishes doing what at the best of times is a pressurised job.

The likely cancellation of the first three months of the season and possibly longer.

I thought I heard something to the effect that the reason why the UK government did not want to close schools was due to the fact that they thought the kids would then end up either being looked after by the grandparents who the government want to keep away from kids or the kids would be playing on the streets and spreading any virus or colds they may have to even more people than by being at school. All governments are trying to do the best for their country but the media hysteria is making rational discussion and decisions almost none existant and certainly very difficult.
