  1. West coast warriors or Workington warriors. Then again scrub the warriors as a rugby league team 9 miles away are called that, them jam eaters fra rubbishehaven
  2. This is taken from our 2nd thread looks like more teams than Poole can have threads in 2 league's https://cumbriacrack.com/2021/12/09/vandals-put-paid-to-workingtons-speedway-dreams-for-202
  3. Could be bad news for the GP, the millennium stadium is classed as a indoor venue by the Welsh government, so strict numbers and covid rules, an upcoming Tom Jones and stereophonics concert has just been cancelled due to strict rules !! Things can change but does not make it easy for the promoter to sell tickets not knowing if the event could go ahead
  4. Would be no cables/pipes left to reconnect as they will have taken them to the scrap yard for money
  5. Unfortunately this issue the speedway track is in the middle of regarding the caravan people, is all down to the local council and politics, apparently all councils are supposed to provide a site for said people,( Don't ask why !! ) If the site is not provided the said people park anywhere and claim they are being victimised, this then adds to the time the eviction order comes through to move them on, they know all the Dodge's !!! In the summer said people have parked on school playing fields, children's playground, car parks, and even outside the local council office, each time eventually moved on via court order ,at a cost to local council tax payers, and leaving a massive mess of God knows what to be cleaned up, again at a cost to the local council tax payers. This has being going on for years but now getting a lot worse, Don't know if similar happens in other parts of the country. Got to feel for Andrew and the band of helpers, but IMO some serious thinking to be done, does the project carry on and risk further damage etc or bail out !!! I'm not being negative just saying as I see it as a local, but will be down to support the speedway when it opens (hopefully ) ,also may have a spare couple of quid to sponsor something.
  6. 5 days ago they broke down barriers that were stopping access to Northside area, now gypos are back (after been off for a couple of months) and this weekend lots of damage caused, make your own mind up who caused it !!! And the local police are doing an impression of French police in Calais. I see nothing
  7. Sad breaking news looks like gypo c#nts have caused lots of damage around the venue got to feel for Andrew and all the helper's.
  8. H18TORY is spelt like this up in wukinton marra
  9. Maybe waiting a while to see which way covid rules are going ? Wales have stricter rules than England
  10. But gets away with it !! Hope they start and watch him moving like sarge
  11. Think other rounds of the GP2 are nite before the GPs as I think they are run on normal speedway tracks, but with Cardiff being specially built, think they are worried the track would be damaged before the main event
  12. Looks like them white lines have been painted with snow THJ you can stay in bed longer
  13. Think mason campton ended up being a triple medal winner but was not riding for Glasgow H18TORY
  14. Oh dear looks like it's gonna be a wobbly inside line. Especially if you have drowned your toon sorrows
  15. No time marra got to be up at 5 to work in a local engineering company then home to do housework etc as my wife's disabled so very little time to put me feet up, but find time later on to do lots of fishing on this forum, you be surprised to how many big catches I get up the toon you need to start winning or you will be going down. Enjoy if that's the phrase watching the toon
  16. You got no work to go to THJ ? Sat watching telly all day
  17. The temporary road over the railway line Opposite Asda was removed a while ago after a new bridge on the road to the docks was built, so park up near the big pile of logs and walk round the locked gate 5 minutes down the road you will see the track on your right hand side. Also a small car park on the right just over the bridge, but the caravan people were parked here the other week
  18. Easier and cheaper to fly up from the south these days, £24 each way from Luton !! have a bike and local mechanic for home matches.
  19. Cos Mr Godfrey said Workington can't ever run on a Friday
  20. Lots of trees and earth moved to make the track as big and wide as it is now,. Not clear on the photo but on the infield coming out of 4th bend (Rh side of photo ) is an electric pole about 8 meters from the curb, this was on the outside of the original training track near where the refs box was.
  21. Sorry Geoff been at work,so no reply and I'm not in the know, just doing good guesswork and putting out any info without spoiling anything for the people behind the project, THJ will be well in the know as already mentioned, but was told road plannings will be laid down on top of any mud banks
  22. Maybe not the first time said person has broke a contract/verbal agreement alledgely !!
  23. Maybe Glasgow can have bonus points for not winning the league or cup !!
