  1. Possibly but Max Perry did ride for the Monarchs NDL team last season so the experience should be beneficial.
  2. Think the Stadium will look very well on Saturday and I hope the fans will be suitably impressed with what has taken place in the last 3months. It is a work in progress but is coming along nicely. I'm sure the fans will see some top speedway on what is forecast to be a nice day. Should be a great start to a weekend festival of Championship Speedway, can't wait. πŸ‘
  3. Depends on the wind direction mate. Forecast possible Northerly on Saturday which could blow any dust to that end . Sure Steve will be utterly focussed on keeping an adequate level of moisture in the track .
  4. Yeah it is looking good at the moment. As a Worky fan i'm a bit the other way so far.
  5. The Comets promotion did some off season track work at Leicester, could that have helped the quality of racing ?
  6. Drew looked very good at a recent practice day at Worky, could have a big season if his machinery holds up.
  7. Get yourselves back down John, can't believe two such big Speedway fans can have lost all enthusiasm for a sport which is still a great watch. Best wishes to you both πŸ‘
  8. Good to see you posting THJ, haven't seen you for some time so nice to know your doing alright. Still doesn't feel right not seeing you and Pauline at the Speedway alot of fans would love to see you both back supporting the Comets.
  9. Yeah first season in UK a big challenge for Fraser. Tate and Antti will have a bit of added pressure also with us only having one experienced heat leader. I would like to think Jacob Hook could kick on and we could see a reinvigorated Jye Etheridge. Gonna be interesting watching how the wbole team performs in a 2025 Championship that looks a fair bit more competetive than the 24 season with some particularly strong looking teams. One thing for sure, it is gonna be vitally important to win our home meetings as an absolute minimum to have any chance of making the playoffs.
  10. Not great that and makes very little sense.
  11. Yeah does look a good gater, smooth on the bike and appears to generate good speed on the inside line. Looking forward to watching him round the GT Tyres Arena.
  12. yeah he looked good, good scalp for young Fraser πŸ‘Œ
  13. Always enjoyed the Border Trophy, good pre season warm up with a bit of rivalry thrown in.
  14. Anyone know whether the Border Trophy is going to be competed for this season ? .
  15. you sure ? seen or heard nothing else re this.
  16. I believe Worky only expressed an interest and to give it due consideration. If someone else jumps the gun and goes to press then perhaps they should hold their hand up and say so. Never ASSUME because it can make an ASS out of U and ME.
  17. Interesting signing wondering how he will go around Armadale. The Championship is looking very competetive next season with a fair number of new faces freshening things up nicely.
  18. The Klindt was superb for Worky in the treble win of 2018. I had so much more respect for him by the end of that season. It may have helped that he had his mates with him in the team in Rene Bach and Rasmus Jensen but he was a strong character himself and I have fond memories of him from that season. Nobody really knows how any signing will turn out but I think Plymouth have made a sound choice. Be great to see him at Worky.
  19. The only person I would believe here is Andrew. I would bet if there was any truth in it he won't be owed anything now.
  20. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/mar/23/who-haul-speedway-out-of-1970s-back-into-affections-uk-viewing-public#:~:text=Speedway has a singular financial,%2C it doesn't work. Not much changed in 5 years.
  21. used to love Zorro, top rider and entertainer.
  22. Would imagine all clubs are running on a limited budget just some more limited than others. One thing I would say that doesn't apply to Andrew is that he is very vocal. A generally unassuming guy who loves Speedway and achieved something worthy of praise. He has done this through sheer hard work and a shrewd business eye which has enabled him to acquire services and materials at a cost that has made the project achievable. He is probably not in a position where he can afford to suffer sizeable financial losses every season. He wants Championship level speedway to be sustainable while supplying the fans with top entertaining racing in the process. The least we can do is support the club.I believe it is a 10 year project so don't understand why you feel it doesn't seem promising after only 2 seasons. At the very worst the future holds NDL racing.
  23. Hi Woke 23 , for info it's Andrew Bain not Baines.
  24. Yeah probably tipped the scales in him not returning. From a supporter view point Craig appeared to let the club and himself down toward the back end of the season. Not turning up at Redcar apparently without notice isn't what fans and management expected from the skipper. It's a shame because everyone loves a local hero to get behind and that was Cookie.
  25. thought the poor crowds at the SON looked worse. Always enjoyed Cardiff weekend especially when the Pairs were held at Somerset on the Friday.
