  1. Many thanks to all fans who travelled to the meeting yesterday in spite of all the changes. Thanks to the riders who did attend and still managed to provide some entertaining races. Well done to Connor Bailey on the win, it's been a pleasure watching you fly round Northside and at times Redcar this season. In the likelyhood there will not be a third tier next season i'm excited at the prospect of rejoining the Championship. The increasing costs are a slight concern bearing in mind what happened to Laura. I hope Andrew/Steve are able to get the required level of support from team sponsors et al to help with the increased financial burden. Andrew spoke about infrastructure work planned for over the winter more specifically toilets and a stand. The energy and dedication of the whole team is admirable. British Speedway cannot afford to lose anymore clubs, i sincerely hope we see the return of Peterborough an excellent race track which always provided great Fours meetings and Wolverhampton. Hope we see you guys back asap !.
  2. Good post on the money. I`ve attended the Championship Riders Championship and the Championship Pairs this season, both had riders missing and in the case of the Pairs riders that early in the meeting looked like they would rather not be there. Fans deserve better.
  3. To me this is very much a self interest reply that dumps all over any rules. This is exactly the stuff that creates the mickey mouse sport accusations aimed at Speedway.
  4. Always been box office has Bomber, never lost his brilliant bike control, his passion or determination. His previous spell with the Tigers was arguably one of his poorest ever.
  5. Congratulations to Glasgow Tigers. Just reward for a great club with great fans . Enjoy it guys .
  6. Not a great night for the Bears which is a shame. Jason Edwards can hold his head high, great win over Basso. Uninspiring performance from the Bears No1.
  7. Yeah fully with you on points raised. Think there"s more chance of these younger riders turning up. Connor unfortunately may well miss our final two meetings which is really disappointing.
  8. Announced tonight on BSN that the NDL Riders Championship Sunday week will be streamed on BSN.
  9. Totally agree with all of that, thoroughly enjoyed it and great weather to boot !
  10. Every heat in every league meeting is a competition of one pair against another. The point score differential and trying not to finish last should make it more intriguing. How to ride Pairs was expertly demonstrated by Bomber especially in the semi final in keeping Lewis Kerr at the back and protecting Basso. Compare that to Rich Lawson in the first semi, he just didn't know how to do the same with Danny King in order to give Ben Cook a chance of getting into third , eventually King passed Richard to take second and make it a 7-2. Difference between night and day.
  11. Bomber showed what Pairs is all about in the semi and final. Well done Glasgow !
  12. Sick of certain riders rubbing spectators noses in the dirt, disgraceful.
  13. No they have already scrapped the Fours which was hugely enjoyable at Peterborough and one of the season highlights for myself personally.
  14. Berwick promotion have announced they intend running the Bandits next season but not the Bullets.
  15. If true then it's a familiar but disappointingly despairing tale. Just wonder how Phil Morris is gonna sort out British Speedway it's a big task but i hope he can make a difference.
  16. Something needs done to help preserve what is left of the once high prestige that this meeting was held in. The winner used to get a brand new bike, does anyone know what the prize is these days ?
  17. The promotion have chosen loyalty in sticking with certain riders, when I say I feel for them its in the context that this loyalty hasn't been reciprocated by improvements in attitude, determination, riding ability and more especially in Luke's case mechanical reliability.
  18. Turned into a lovely afternoon down at Northside. It was great to welcome the Belle Vue Colts their fans and the neutrals that made the effort to support us today thank you. Hope the Belle Vue fan that took ill just before start time is okay. Connor Bailey showed today what an accomplished determined racer he his rapidly developing into. It was great to see him get his max and regain the track record into the bargain. He was well supported by Luke Harrison another young rider who is coming along very nicely. Unfortunately the absence of Ace proved too big a hurdle to overcome a Belle Vue side that with the exception of jack Shimelt were solid throughout. Not quite sure why Comets didn't go with R/R at No 2 again today. Like has been stated already I found myself feeling for Andrew , Steve and all the team at Worky Speedway with regard to the performances of the Skipper and Harry M not just today but throughout the season. Surely the guys know that the consistently poor form they have shown for whatever reason has an impact on attendances and ultimately the promotion who have worked tirelessly to bring the sport back to Workington at unknown personal cost. I would like to think they have apologised for their showing over the two meetings where they scored 7 points between them from 18 rides.
  19. Unfortunately most of our riders have been slower from the gate than the opposition and yes a couple of riders have been unexpectedly but consistently disappointing.
  20. Northerly wind in Worky this morning, usually well sheltered when in this direction. Dry and partly cloudy at the minute.
  21. If Poland have first call on riders then this should be taken in to consideration when the meeting is scheduled. This stuff just further devalues the sport in the UK and is avoidable with better planning.
