  1. Let’s get things in perspective, he’s been around British amateur meetings for quite a few years, rode in a few second halfs and would struggle to hold down a NDL team place so let’s not call in Trumps ICE army just yet.
  2. Isn’t the rule…..can’t guest unless named in another Premierships one to seven ?
  3. The sports own ‘constitution’ is being broken to try desperately to find another club, but then the sports rules are constantly being broken so what’s another one.
  4. Even though you wrote it twice…..you couldn’t be more wrong. I’ve attended as many NDL meetings as Championship and been to Mildenhall many times and always enjoyed it. I just have an opinion you obviously disagree with.😊
  5. Do you actually think they discuss ‘ what will the fans think ?’ at promoters meetings ? I very much doubt so. I was told by a former promoter that when ever disputes occurred between them at their get togethers the first thing that Chapmen and Godfrey used to say was that they would close their tracks as they made their money on stocks cars , and there the guys who run our sport ! Fans do not get considered in any aspect of the sport. This Northampton farce, which is going ahead , could be the biggest circus the sport has come up with.
  6. That’s 1 out of 14, although James is still a good rider, I don’t think your going to get another 13 of a similar standard.
  7. Why ? I have my own opinion so don’t need to ask myself as I think I know 😊
  8. 10 years ago speedway was quite rosey. TIMES HAVE CHANGED .
  9. No, that would spoil the press release and I can’t wait to read it myself.
  10. At the moment there's some disappointing names in the seven, must be struggling to get riders.
  11. Just how do you think that should happen ? They can’t magic up riders , the MDL is only just viable now and constantly fails to fill the teams with four riders. The ‘Powers that be’ need to look at grass routes and get kids on 125’s so that we have a future rider base.
  12. Thank you for responding, nice to know that a promoter does read the comments. I fully understand your explanation but it doesn’t change the fact that regular racing on the set race night is traditionally what most fans prefer. I see the Tigers recently released fixtures show all the home meetings will be on a Saturday evening which just emphasises my point. I attend Redcar with three friends and as we are speedway addicts we also attend Workington and Berwick depending on the opposition ,this will obviously now rule out attending Tigers home fixtures if we decide to keep following championship fixtures as our preferred viewing. We do enjoy NDL meetings but championship is our preference so we now have a dilemma of what Saturday speedway we follow. As you have stated , speedway is no longer the same as the ‘old days’ much to my regret and I don’t follow the NFL so don’t care what they do but, for once , a season ticket doesn’t work me for me as Fridays are my ‘ home ‘ meetings ( although I live 35 miles away ) and Saturdays are Workington or Berwick as we like the variation. I know this is are personal choice and nothing to do with Redcar but it’s worked so well in the recent past for us. I do hope Redcar thrive this season but I do shake my head at some of the strange decisions made by the sport in the last few years. Good luck for the season , I will be attending most Friday evenings 😉
  13. Expecting the standard to be below the current NL as they won’t pay for the likes of Lambert, Scott, Mulford etc. Be interesting if the dates clash with other National League fixtures as where will they get riders from ?
  14. I’ll have a bash at possibles…. Kerr, Mountain, Barker, S.Lambert, R. Lambert ( unlikely ! ) , D.Phillips ( if still riding )……now I’m struggling…..
  15. As recent history has shown the local area has no desire for motorsport in the area or rugby ! If you have driven around the area you will release that the inhabitants are mainly Asian and they just don’t get motorsports so any fan base would have to travel and combine that with the costs of upgrading and developing a dilapidated stadium means it’s never going to happen no matter how many times people insist on bringing it up on this forum.
  16. Don’t need more NDL teams just better management as it’s now a place for championship second strings and so no longer a development league for new , young British novices.
  17. Speedway fans have always preferred regular weekly home meetings, whilst I appreciate theres too many Friday clubs ( should never have allowed Scunthorpe or Glasgow to change ) theres just too many blank weeks in the key summer months. Its all right the management saying the dates are reserved for this and that but what happens if you dont qualify for this and that ? Can see crowds dwindling this season.
  18. Just heard that theres a two day training session at Glasgow on a MONDAY and TUESDAY starting at 8 am . Im guessing the kids must all be off school then ?
  19. Glad I waited for the fixtures to come out before renewing my season ticket as Ill not be doing it now, massive gaps in home fuxtures in the prime summer months and only one home fixture in July !
  20. “Many tracks offer opportunities and different organisations offer these to facilitate new riders.” Well DUKES, can you list these ‘ many tracks ‘ ? As theres now only 16/17 tracks in the country and I can think of only around 4 that provide REGULAR sessions, this will improve with the inclusion of Buxton and a few sessions at Glasgow , Mildenhall. Amateur meetings are virtually dead now.
  21. I think the chairman takes the fans for fools and when challenged by a ‘new’ promoter on the subject he was told to ‘ stop complaining’, so basically do what you want, not what the rule book says.
  22. But the chairman INSISTS all clubs are paying the set rate of £15 a point for no.1 and £10 a point everyone else, so it must be true ! 😉
  23. A sad state of affairs that sums up the state of the sport. Whilst I admire the academy set up the club have the National League ( it’s no longer a development league ) is just becoming a watered down championship with second strings ( Simon Lambert ??? ) and non Brits being brought over to fill team places .
  24. Well the side has been announced and there’s quite a few surprises. Both Pijper’s were expected but not Ablitt. Then throw in the ‘retired ‘ Trigger ! Add an unknown Aussie in Sadler ( he must be part British ? ) Didnt expect Southwick to be back but he’s a catch. Ward slightly surprising as I thought he’d prefer a more southern track . Not sure how they’ll line up think it will be Sadler and Ward at reserve which is a gamble, an unknown quantity and Ward blows hot and cold. Slightly disappointed all the local boys have gone and thought Halder was worth a team place all day long. The way this league has been changed means it’s no longer a development league and so this is what you get with experienced riders getting places and the odd non brit. Still, its a team and not a bad one on paper.
  25. We won’t need one if they don’t sort the mess out soon.
