Whoever the 2 pointer is , he isn’t going to get much riding in the NDL with only 10 matches or less .

Newcastle speedway
Fortythirtyeight replied to Justgotmecpc's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There are a number of examples of only ONE promoter being at a club, you only have to look down the road at Redcar who have only had one on a number of recent years under Havelock and his follow up Keay. And before anyone mentions it CVS was not a promoter but a director as the rules did not allow you to ‘promote’ at more than one club but then we know how rules can be interpreted in speedway . -
King's Lynn Young Stars 2023?
Fortythirtyeight replied to Bagpuss's topic in National League Speedway
Bit touchy aren’t we ? I simply asked where the riders were to come from ? Grass track is in just as bad a state as speedway, very few meetings , even less youngsters on proper slide type machinery. You are actually right in that we don’t do enough to encourage people into taking up the sport but that’s a vicious circle, they see the state speedway is in and don’t give it a second thought., but it’s not me you want to be having a go at, try the BSPL! -
‘Pay’ comes in many different forms in this sport .
-
and ‘policed’ by the very people who give them….
-
Winning shiny objects means little to most riders, money means a heck of a lot more.

King's Lynn Young Stars 2023?
Fortythirtyeight replied to Bagpuss's topic in National League Speedway
and just where are all these extra NDL standard riders coming from ? With the rumours that Workington and Kings Lynn are entering that’s another 14 to find. Yes, there’s a few coming through from the 250’s but only a couple and no doubt they will simply replace the few that traditionally ‘retire’ over the winter so let’s not get carried away with ‘new’ teams coming along as there simply isn’t enough competent riders to go around. -
No, they usually end up where they can get the best deal.
-
Heeps! Can’t see Redcar wanting him , can’t see the King / Worrall option either. Isn’t Mulford a grass tracker ? Redcar will have a third of their home fixtures on a Sunday so doubt that works for them and may cause issues with Riss riding in Poland. If Kerr doesn’t come back can see an Edinburgh heat leader who guested a few times being linked. The limit will be higher than 38 now there are so few teams.
-
Can’t see Matt Ford letting his favourite rider go anywhere, if he’s releasing a heat leader more likely Worrall. With Wright already in and Jenkins and Edwards as assets they are probably in, don’t think they want to change the team much from last season as Kerr and Riss were very popular so I’d think Newman would be looking for a track closer to the south coast and Anderson might be the sacrificial one . Jordan Stewart to reappear with a NDL ‘star’ to come in ?, Pijper-Boughen-Harrison-Trigger ??? as a big gamble .

You may wish to check how many of your astute three are actually on the top table committee and therefore already in a position to make sure the right decisions are made. -
Glad your not picking the team then as Jenkins did very well for us and will improve again next season . Newman still lives in Poole so is very unlikely to be signing for a northern club for a full season.
-
Your not going to get doubling up-down banned, those that are here now won’t cut their earnings in half and still continue to ride. So you won’t get guests banned either as there aren’t any replacements of the same calibre just waiting in the pits. As there may be less clubs next year that will only exasperate the problem as less meeting means less wages and possibly some ‘imports’ thinking twice about coming over perhaps ? Look at your Bears team this year, how many doubling up? and a couple trebling up ! Now how many times did you use guests ? You can have a number eight if you want one , but he/she won’t get used , they never are, look at the Premiere leagues no.8 rule this year, didn’t work, they even brought guests in and kept the no.8 the same ! Lets hope they come up with something though.

A pity the clubs didn’t make more of an effort then. -

So he/they didn’t stage any but they competed in two matches , one more than the other two teams. Just another speedway idea that wasn’t thought through are tackled with any enthusiasm. -

Are you sure ? I thought Jason Pipe sorted Peterborough matches out as he was moaning how difficult it was to get riders to commit to them. -
So Barry Briggs, umpteen times a champion, was wrong when asked why he signed for Wimbledon saying he needed to learn to ride the tracks he found difficult ?

Armadale Devils v Belle Vue Colts
Fortythirtyeight replied to edmon's topic in National League Speedway
‘ Big Money side ‘ ? In what way ? -
Yes, council own the whole motorsports park and have tried to pass it off previously as there is no guarantee of safety in any council owned land these days even if you do have a lease.
-
I did say FIM who control the strings for ALL GP tracks.

Which is basically what I’ve said , and I don’t get the Star .
