Just £10 more than Redcar charged then.

Nora Speedway
Fortythirtyeight replied to Rob Dyer's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Just to clarify, Redcar do not run ‘Nora’ speedway events. They do rent the track out to Flat Trackers who run under Nora but no speedway is run under those regulations. -

If you read the latest news from Eastbourne then it’s championship only from the landlords. -

Which one ? The IOW version or the British Amateur League ? which is run at Scunthorpe by Richard Hollingsworth, who runs all the amateur events there. -
My apologies.

Boston and AMSA ride at Scunthorpe in the British Amateur League using the same format, perhaps they would be interested ? -
Not new as Scunthorpe ran the same events last season with four teams taking part and are looking to expand the ‘ British Amateur League ‘ in 2023 but good to see more opportunities out there .Pehaps I.O.W. could join in with Scunthorpe and have a seven team league ?

Insurance is all sorted by the organisers , as for the S.R.B.F. ……you would have to ask them, but my assumption would be you’re not competing in a S.C.B. controlled event so you may miss out on that benefit.
-
Incorrect. Any officially licensed rider competing in an ‘ official ‘ SCB controlled event is covered by their minimal insurance. Hence second half juniors are covered etc.
-
Looks like the same format as Scunthorpes ‘ British Amateur League ‘ but perhaps aimed at a slightly lower standard ?

Yes, 77 Jubilee year if I remember rightly, v Teesside . Very different to a permanent speedway track but it did the job. -
Don’t know why Rothery keeps getting mentioned. It was a shame he packed in but he’d fallen out of love with it before so no great surprise. Muff might not like a Friday night track due to work, Rathbone appears to have zero confidence but can be be good Douglas is a steady three pointer. Nothing else northern based out there so grab a ‘ commonwealth ‘ rider and two low pointers , if you can find them.

The rules are written in pencil…..very lightly !

Northern Junior League 2023
Fortythirtyeight replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Is he not at Berwick ? if not, there’s 5 other teams he can compete for a place at. -
I think you mean the NJL team as he’s not quite ready for NDL yet, but he may get there this season.
-
Think Edinburgh / The Acadamy or whatever or going to be the strugglers unless they manage to sign Clegg and two Australian newcomers
-
Embleton has gone to Berwick, Douglas , Rathbone and Lyden yet to be named in any team, Hagon to Belle Vue.
-
So why set the points limit so high ?
-
Only to the degree that 2/3 British riders are denied a place.

Northern Junior League 2023
Fortythirtyeight replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
The detail is…if the 5 or 3 rider is in a declared NDL team then his partner needs to be a non NDL rider. So, for example , Berwick can field Mason Watson ( below 5 in a declared NDL team ) with Kyran Douglas ( a 3 NDL average but currently NOT in a NDL team )…..I think. But if they decide to field to field a current 3 average NDL rider then his partner still should be a a non NDL rider …..I think. But then they COULD field two current NDL riders just to give them rides but one of them won’t have his points count , as some sides did last season ! it’s speedway rules, your not supposed to understand them! -

So just to practice three starts ? I’m sure Workington can let you use their tapes. -
Exactly, not taken seriously as ALL clubs were supposed to take part.
-
Don’t care about averages, it’s supposed to be a development league to help British riders …..isn’t it ?
