  1. Wrong. An employer has to be the' sponsor ' for his visa. Club only has to provide a 'reasonable salary' for the individual . Whilst there has to be a ' suitable address' to satisfy the immigration authority that can be provided by the rider, a sponsor or the club. The only true expense to the club is the ' visa ' which is less than a week's wage to a decent championship rider.
  2. I'll have to look this new sport up ' rode raced' ? not sure I know anyone who ' sand raced ' either although I know many who raced on sand or who took part in sand racing .
  3. First time I've said this about Redcar but disapointing meeting in terms of the quality of racing. Score line kept the match interesting but some of the home riders didn't look comfortable on an overwatered track and the Bandits made the best of their opportunities. Not many races to shout about although Summers had his moments , Riss started well and Wright was a class above with Anderson and Flint impressing. Too much tractor work ( trying to fix the track ) made the meeting drag a little and no second half racing due to an amateur meeting tomorrow with no ' Smoggy ' to keep us entertained.. Not the worst meeting ever but not as good as I'd hoped. Bandits deserved their point and the Bears will be happy with the win considering the low scores from three riders. Think they are safe for a play off place but may struggle against the more solid top 3 sides and with Wright having a GP appearance on his mind. Great to see Workington fans in the ' hospitality suite ' by the start line . Not often I'm home before midnight for an away match but that's something to be thankful for I suppose.
  4. Yes, you do need to keep up with some of the twaddle on here. Wright had Lazer treatment on his troublesome shoulder injury and needs some rest apparently.
  5. Ostergaard wins his first three races?!?! shows the difference of standards between the two leagues as he can't manage that at his home track of Newcastle.
  6. As Team GB is now a private company and Rossiter was forced on the company by the BSPA surely they may want a say on who THEY want fronting THEIR team?
  7. BBC North East news presenter Jeff Brown not only follows local teams ( being a former Sunderland Stars fan ) he is actually team managing a Sunderland junior team at a 4TT event at Redcar next week.
  8. That's what happens when you are unfairly dismissed. The BSPA is a worse place without her knowledge and expertise but the mafia knew best, and it cost them!
  9. And only a chosen few know how that ended, the Mafia struck!
  10. I will be travelling to this one. I have noticed fellow Workington fans at Redcar with a sprinkling of around a dozen Sheffield and Newcastle fans along with some from Scunthorpe and Belle Vue. I suppose if you have one of the best race tracks in the country along with a winning team you will attract the fans. Always felt entertained at the MPA , good presentation, decent food at decent prices and that Bear is always worth watching between races. Berwick usually push the Bears so I'm going 50-40.
  11. Not always the case. New promoters , (less than three years in the role,) don't get a vote. This will include Birmingham, Redcar, possibly Berwick. Some decisions made at AGM 's and voted in by all the promoter's have subsequently been changed by the management committee , without consultation to the general council ( the rest of the promoters ). When one bold promoter asked how this could be so , he was told " because it can ". That person is no longer promoting as he lost the will to constantly fight the ' Dark Side'. The top table will always have the last say.
  12. As one of the juniors is travelling six hours to ride here I hope it's on or they make a very early call off as he's got a hefty fuel bill and no wages to compensate it.
  13. The ACU would ask the SCB who are currently dictated too by the BSPA. This has happened several times over the last few years. As nice a guy as Mr. Vatcher is , he is a ' yes ' man and has been told what to do on a number of occasions in recent times by the SCB / BSPA liaison officer , a Mr. Godfrey I believe. Even when the SCB made a decision the same decision was ignored by said mafia and they just did what they pleased. The ACU gave up on speedway years ago but it's about time they had a serous look at the sport and how its governed.
  14. Neil Vatcher said on the microphone at Redcar last night that he had asked for two U-21's to be the reserves at Cardiff but was over ruled. By whom? He's supposed to be the S.C.B. Head so has the B.S.P.A. mafia got involved again ?
  15. If previous ruling's by the S.C.B. ( or even the B.S.P.A.) are anything to go by where Glasgow are concerned then Glasgow will come out fine.
  16. BT 's offer for 2019 worked out at less than 5k per Premiership club with no additional payment for ' live transmission' from each club. Compare that with the 100k plus that Sky gave each Premiership club plus 5k per meeting hosted. A small committee of promoters , including Belle Vue and Berwick with their insider knowledge of live streaming , was set up to look into the possibility of a once weekly , Match of the Day style programme. As yet nothing has been agreed with anybody.
  17. And you think that Plymouth fans and management will welcome Wallinger back with open arms and he will be very happy to go back to a set of fans who have given nothing but abuse to his proposed move to his home town club? Really? Stand by for another ' retirement '.
  18. So Redcar want to sign the rider, Plymouth happy to let him go ( eventually ) but the BSPA put a stop to it...... only in speedway would this make sense.
  19. I wouldn't waste your time Mr.Parr as ' Loose Diamond ' is one of those key board warriors who appears never to have left their bedroom and been into the real world and just writes any old drivel that enters their empty head ( just check out any of their comments on this forum for proof of that) Not one to waste your valuable time on but thank you for trying to explain the situation anyway.
  20. You've never known a promoter lie??? REALLY!?!?!? ( sorry, couldn't resist that. The Plymouth promoter may not be like the BSPA committee )
  21. If it's a ' Forum ' it can't be classed as official or even reliable ( although I believe it will turn out to be true before the transfer deadline ) as 70% of what appears on forums is speculation, gossip, or just down right lies. Just look on here!
  22. No, only what this one person is saying, nothing from either club.
  23. I'm assuming your not very old as your acting like an upset child. This happens all the time in every sport. You have had Wallinger a couple of matches ? Now he's gone, move on.
