  1. STATEMENT FROM BRITISH SPEEDWAY PROMOTERS LTD We would like to clear up a misunderstanding amongst Speedway supporters regarding the appointment of Phil Morris to oversee the Premier League and its play-offs. When we appointed Phil Morris "to fix" British Speedway, it seems that some fans have stupidly misunderstood our use of the verb "to fix" These imbecile fans thought we were using the verb "to fix" in the sense of "to repair; mend; to put in order or in good condition". (e.g. the plumber fixed the leaky toilet) The BSPL would like to clarify that we were of course using the verb "to fix" in the sense of "to arrange or influence the outcome or action of, especially privately or dishonestly" (e.g. Vladimir Putin fixed the American election). It is clear to anyone with half a brain that we never intended for Phil Morris to repair, mend, or put the sport in good order. We hope that fans will now fully understand that Phil Morris has indeed successfully fixed the Premiership. Meanwhile the BSPL toilet is still leaking.
  2. Why don't we just give Birmingham the league trophy? After all, they tried their best! And if all teams are in agreement, what's the issue?
  3. If Neil, the announcer, is now a woman, that is certainly the biggest news from this meeting!
  4. But you haven't explained where the mistake in the current table is.
  5. How have all 3 teams raced 7 matches? Did one match only have one team in it? And that team must have lost against no opposition, since 9 matches have been won and 10 matches have been lost!
  6. Think the poster just wanted to be disrespectful to Nathan Ablitt, Luke Harrison and Mickie Simpson. They have a history of writing factually incorrect drivel trying to denigrate the NDL, which in reality just makes them look foolish.
  7. Don't worry. Osborne has no intention of going through the red tape.
  8. Surely no one is gullible enough to believe this?
  9. You can't have been there, since your description of Tate's crash is completely wrong. Nothing to do with a wide line, nor dirt near the fence. Rew was on the inside of Zischke and got out of shape and hit Zischke, straightening him up. Nothing intentional from Rew, just a racing accident, and nothing to do with the wide line and nothing to do with dirt near the fence. And if you'd ever been to NSS you'd know it's the complete opposite to a one-line follow-the-leader track.
  10. Believe King's Lynn declared a full team to BV for the programme, but have since said that Klindt isn't fit and Wright will guest.
  11. King's Lynn supposed to have a full team out tomorrow (If you can call signing Lewis Kerr as a replacement for Musielak a "full team") Though Kerr should be OK at reserve, I can see an absolute mauling. Not good TV.
  12. The Belle Vue website, the main headline on the Belle Vue Facebook, and Belle Vue social media for about the last fortnight, and even unofficial BV fans Facebook groups.
  13. A stand-alone meeting for the Youth Championship doesn't draw a crowd, so only those tracks that pay no rent would have any chance of staging a stand-alone meeting without losing a fortune. Doing it the way Workington, Redcar and Belle Vue do, with the 500cc and 125cc raced as a double header with one league meeting, and then the 250cc and 150cc as a double header with another league meeting, seems the sensible way. I like the way Belle Vue do it with the Youth round going on before the main meeting, giving the kids plenty of time, rather than rushing things through as a second half. It's a shame more tracks don't get involved in the youth series, as we might then get more kids taking part.
  14. No, they didn't. It's just some fans don't understand the rules.
  15. Not sure what you were watching. The scoreline certainly didn't reflect the efforts of a very competitive Oxford team. They were in it right up to the last 3 heats, and favourites for the bonus point going into heat 13. It was only a fantastic finish from the Aces and an incredible heat 15 which denied them the extra point.
  16. Why do people make up stupid lies like this, instead of giving the actual answer to someone who wants to know?
  17. I think if Bellego had any interest in riding here, he'd already be here. And if you think they can afford Hellstrom-Bangs, you're living in cloud cuckoo land,. The points money he'd want at reserve, plus a signing-on fee for a couple of months, plus the cost of a van, plus the cost of getting bikes over here, and the cost of hiring a mechanic etc etc. Well out of budget to effectively replace Connor Mountain.
  18. I don't think you understand the rules. After completing 75% of fixtures, no team changes can be made. Once Oxford race tomorrow, they can't change their team. Similarly Belle Vue have only the next 7 days to secure their nos.6 & 7. After next Monday's meeting, they can't make a change. That's why people are saying there is a "last chance" to impress teams.
  19. Believe he's been at the last couple of Belle Vue practice days and flew round the place. Thought he was getting practice for SON2, but obviously not just that.
  20. Yep. And the family of 4 going to Belle Vue @ £46 for 120 minutes = 9.5p per minute of entertainment. Glad to see we've finally worked out that Speedway gives great value.
