  1. Sadly not, despite still being on a great average. At the right track, Claus is a steal on his average.
  2. All matches should have second halves either with NJL action, or equivalent of NDL action. Must be possible to make something like that work. Gives a chance for people who previously wouldn't have gone to an NDL match the chance to see some potential up and coming youngsters.
  3. That’s a little unfair on Championship clubs. How many teams have been better than Glasgow over the course of the last five years or so? And that’s no disrespect to other clubs, e.g., Redcar, who have built some very entertaining and challenging teams. Even if they haven’t won the league, plenty of us would make sure we’re in town when they are. Winning can be fine margins, and so much depends on injuries. But how you go about it is very important too. Just see the NJL debacle this week for that.
  4. Sounds more like rider changes than league changes to me.
  5. I know this is academic as Tom's not coming back, but if we have signed/are signing Worrall for next season, he could've fitted in with this team. It looks like a long tail, but maybe that's how the league will look. I'd still be very concerned about reserve, but it would've been a decent team at home, which let's be honest, is where the money comes from.
  6. If Ace could take the bulk Lee needs to lose, the two would both be set fair.
  7. I don't know the ins and outs of it, but I guess someone outside a club could sponsor a ride according to their points. But a club can't channel money through someone else. I think the league do some kind of auditing on that. Unfortunately I can't remember where I read what Bomber said, otherwise I'd point it out. He didn't say a lot, but he did reference it at some point.
  8. I’m sure I read something recently where Bomber mentioned £90/point, and I got the feeling that was a league-mandated ceiling.
  9. Because that was what was agreed before the competition started.
  10. The article says Harris has already been named. That's incorrect. The won't be any announcements until sometime in November. However, no one around Glasgow believes anything other than that Bomber is coming back. If the team and/or Bomber didn't intend for him to come back, I'm certain it would've been announced. I'm interested to see who we end up with. My current guess from what people say would be: Bomber, Worrall, Bailey, Hume, Borke, Complin, Pijper. Not my favourite 7, but they're all riders that others like and people seem to be interested in.
  11. Yes. Even if there had been a rider who could've come in mid season for Lee and done better - which there wasn't - it would've been a terrible move because he was so good at getting the crowd and the kids hyped up. Not enough riders work the crowd, but he's brilliant.
  12. Yes, I think he is. His form at the tail end of the season showed he's great value if he's got a good engine.
  13. Signed on a 5, averaged 7. Not sure that can be seen as anything but a successful signing.
  14. That would be a handy team with good gaps between the averages so the lineup doesn’t get messed around during the season.
  15. Yes, hasn't worked for me on Android for weeks.
  16. Borke is on 4.00 and Fredriksen is on 4.57. Borke's away average was 4.12, whereas Fredriksen's was 6.36. It's all very well saying Borke went great at Ashfield, but if we want to have a shot at retaining our title, we need to focus on away form. Borke was not a good away scorer. We don't want to be taking riders whose real average is below their actual average IMO. And for all that Bastian scored 8 at Ashfield in the Championship match, Lasse scored 9, including beating Marcin Nowak in heat 8. That didn't happen often. Lasse's under-rated, for me.
  17. Can he be discounted any more though? Borke looked great at Ashfield, but not anywhere else. Lasse Fredriksen is a much better prospect if you’re looking at Edinburgh riders (albeit injury is a concern).
  18. With next year’s points limit, Tom will be a great #5 for someone.
  19. He's got the best rolling average compared to 2023 average in the league, apart from a couple of reserves who've ridden 1 or 2 meetings. I think his biggest issue is sponsorship.
  20. Not sure why Dan would ride in the Championship, and Sunday afternoons will be a no-go too.
  21. We really need some quality second half racing for those guys. But the question will be, who pays for it? So I don't see it happening. This is the kind of thing TV money should really be used for. Developing the product.
  22. OK, I've read the regulations again. Here's my understanding: Any rider who appeared this season will be given an average which will be published after the AGM. A rider with an average in more than one league will keep the respective averages for those leagues - no conversion. A rider who has been absent for three or more seasons can get an amended average, seemingly at the whim of BSP LTD A rider who has been absent for more than one full season due to a speedway injury can get an amended average, again seemingly at the whim of BSP LTD. Nothing is mentioned about riders who didn't ride this year, but did in one of the previous two years, and weren't side-lined by a speedway injury. I'm not sure why a rider who missed a year through injury would be treated differently to one who missed the season for another reason. I'm also not sure what happens to someone who didn't appear this season or last season. They won't have an average from this year's AGM, but they won't qualify for an amended MA, so I suppose the implication is the published average from AGM 2022 or AGM 2021 would apply, but the rules don't actually say this.
