  1. We only made the change because Marcin decided he needed to leave to prioritise his Polish club. No one wanted him to leave. Once he had left, we signed the best rider we could according to the riders available, which happened to be Vadim once it was established Patryk Wojdylo couldn’t be signed. The rules around 5 point averages were queried at the 2022 AGM, so everyone agreeing to the rules understood the ramifications. Maybe they thought it would never happen, but they agreed the rules. No one said the rule was stupid until it was used.
  2. To be fair, they’ve come a long way quickly. I’m sure it’s just a matter of priorities and how quickly they can get to all of them.
  3. Not sure any Glasgow riders were on that last season. I seem to remember Bomber quoting £90/point? Also, not sure Shovlar was saying he knew Claus is after £100/point, sounded like speculation to me.
  4. Well, I had someone asking me questions last week that made me believe the last Workington rider wasn’t signed.
  5. I'm going to deduce from that response, that you don't know who the last rider is.
  6. One of you has to be wrong... Have Workington even signed their last rider yet?
  7. One meeting in 2022, 4 rides, one point, fell off once.
  8. I do wonder if that is part of it (although I’m sure we’d have made an exception for Ben in the right circumstances).
  9. What was wrong with the track? There was passing all over the place whenever I was there - thought I'd gone to the wrong place!
  10. Season starts with BSN/KO Cup, so plenty racing before averages take effect - they’re from league only, remember.
  11. Plenty Glasgow fans say the same about Ashfield. Riders love coming here, but with a strong team, you still have a home advantage. Although maybe the banking at Glasgow gives us a little more.
  12. I don't think that's quite as true as people like to believe.
  13. Cami also brought in Lee Complin, which raised a lot of eyebrows but proved everyone wrong at the end of the season - to the point Lee's even coming back, and no-one is calling it silly!
  14. She'll not be the worst rider to go around Armadale in recent times though
  15. Improve on a 6.24 rolling average? Yes, he will.
  16. Tom lost his place in Glasgow's plans because they wouldn't wait any longer for him to make his mind up. He was asked. Whether he wanted to stay at Glasgow or was just holding back that he was planning to sign for Poole, I don't know. I guess you wouldn't want to say you're definitely leaving if you haven't signed a contract elsewhere yet.
  17. I was hoping it was going to be Mikkel B Andersen.
  18. Poole, Redcar and Oxford all shaping up well to me.
  19. If the snack van would take card payments, that would be exciting news.
  20. I don't know if the rules are the same for 2024, but the rules for 2023 were as follows:
  21. Not wanting to take over the Poole thread, but from Glasgow’s perspective, it’s undeniable the 7 riders we will start next season with are clearly weaker than the 7 we started 2023 with, even putting the forced change for Vadim to one side, which did make us stronger. Must be true of others too. Doesn’t mean we won’t get good racing, of course.
