  1. Assuming the requirements don’t change for next year, Lasse has one of the best average discrepancies in the league. His 2023 average is about 0.7 above his rolling average, so if there’s any hope he can match his 2023 average next year, he’s good value. He does seem to always be injured though. I’m not actually 100% I’ve ever seen him race at Armadale come to think of it! Which is probably why I’ve only just noticed his home average is quite weak…
  2. We have to win both matches, so until at least one has taken place, both are equally important. Thursday is out for the Oxford match (Sam Masters), so Friday would be an option. Redcar can't host on Saturday. Sunday is October...
  3. It was a joke post, but the no trophy comment was entirely serious. Personally, I think we should just make a trophy and award it to ourselves. No madder than anything else that's gone on tbh.
  4. I think Glasgow have been proved right now in their view that it “wasn’t going to happen”. I think the fairest result would be to give the trophy to Glasgow. Oh, wait. There probably isn’t even a trophy!
  5. There is an established formula to calculate the winner. It is not “away team takes the points”.
  6. I honestly don’t know what our real crowd numbers are. I’ve heard figures of 1,000 recently. Not sure I believe that. 800 seems more like what I’ve seen, but maybe there are people in places I don’t see. It’s also pointless to count anyone who didn’t have to pay to get in.
  7. That’s a fair point, but if I was being flippant, I might say that’s no different to most other weeks in the season!
  8. Glasgow and Edinburgh definitely both struggled for attendance today. Glasgow’s match clashed with the Celtic game, which I’m sure didn’t help.
  9. 3v6 and 4v5 would work, and would remove 4 fixtures from the playoffs. Starting on time would help a bit too.
  10. I believe Phil Lanning might do it these days. I can't imagine it would be his #1 priority. I suspect the website gets next to no visitors. But nothing on social media either.
  11. I'm not sure about that. At Ashfield, I think a sizeable chunk of people (maybe the younger fans more so?) are more excited about Ben, Bomber and Lee particularly. And probably Tarasenko now too. Or maybe we just have an exciting team... I would hope most fans would come regardless, but some riders definitely have a significant pull effect.
  12. Our first league match was June 2nd. Seems like madness, but we had one match arranged for the first week of May [Oxford], which was rained off, and then completed after the original cut-off deadline. We only had four free Fridays from the beginning of April to the end of August (seems hard to believe) - it'd be interesting to know if anything was preventing matches those nights. I suspect SoN accounted for one. Maybe clubs just have to stomach guests more (cue universal outrage).
  13. I’d imagine so. 2pm on a Saturday is hard enough for a crowd already, let alone if Bomber doesn’t turn up!
  14. It’s been rearranged for 2pm this Saturday (23rd).
  15. Exactly that! Redcar are away at Scunthorpe that day, so it makes sense to me.
  16. Swap Redcar to next Tuesday, Oxford to Friday. Can’t see an obvious reason that wouldn’t work, other than I can’t attend, which should be a dealbreaker tbh.
  17. I would say most would. I certainly would. Even at the end, I wasn't too disappointed. We also often struggle in 13/15 away from home. I'd have been disappointed if it went out to 12. 8 would have been great. 10 leaves it really nicely balanced for me.
  18. Today, we are united. Let's hope it doesn't last too long.
