Leicester vs Birmingham 26/03/2022 KoC 1st Round 1st Leg
Berry9 replied to IainB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Teams like Leicester make a mockery of speedway, the track looks fantastic but it is prepared in a way that only produces one racing line, God help any visiting rider who tries to go wide on the bends because they siink faster than the Bismark. Lion's fans would call it "home advantage" whereas I prefer the word "cheating". All it produces is a guaranteed boring follow the leader home win -
Jake the snake agreed to rejoin Scunthorpe when he guested for them against Glasgow on 20th June one day after a rubbishe performance for the Bears at Leicester, he also told the Scorpions faithful in a Q+A session after the Redcar meeting that he would back next year. I personally feel zero malice towards him and I hope he delivers for us against Edinburgh. We lost Eric Riss in a similar fashion and I hope he returns for us next season. I know he hasn't had a good season with King's Lynn or Birmingham but form is temporary while class is permanent. Jake is a fantastic rider and I thank him for the the season he rode for us.

OK fair point but I feel invested, it's as if the supporters don't matter remember what happened at B'ham when the BSPL ruled against Redcar? Now MPT gets injured riding in the premiership in the week the average's change and hey presto we can't use a guest!! But Edinburgh can, they are kicking us when we are down and sticking g the knife in at the same time. No doubt they will spring up on this thread if they beat a seriously depleted Bears team "Gloating" about how fantastic they performed in their rubbish stadium. Fairness is surley not a lot to ask, what exactly is the point of the play offs if the rules allow for this situation?
-
Berwicks's season is over so Flints 3* classification should be obsolete. It's the play offs ffs and Edinburgh should only be allowed a rider with an average equal to or below Kemps. This situation really boils my piss and it's no wonder Ben Duffil has had enough. It honestly feels like it's the BSPL vs Redcar. all the time. Godfrey and his cronies really do hate The Redcar Bears. If ever there was a reason not to travel then this is it. Armadump is a 3.5hr drive from Teesside and although I planned to go I don't think I can be arsed to make the journey when I know the odds have been stacked against us and if I decide not to go I am damn sure I won't line the What The Forks Cheating Monarchs pockets by buying their stream

Scunthorpe don't stand a chance, I think they will win narrowly at home but when they get on that unfair track at Leicester it will be curtains. The PC Arena is crap it's just gate and go to the first bend then follow the leader because the track curator makes sure that overtaking is impossible by only grading the inside line.........Boring

Dan Thompson is quality so you can bet your bottom dollar that Godfrey will make sure you are correct

Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears 22nd September
Berry9 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think it's a measure of how far the Bears have come in recent years that we are even having this discussion. The Holy Trinity (Ben, Jade and Jamie) have brought us to this point with their knowledge, hard work and enthusiasm and I am a touch sad that they are going to be broken up. We need that semi final spot so go on lads do it for Ben!! -
Every race could be sponsored by one of their products

Somebody amongst the Diamond's fan base must now the directors of Greg's . The money required will be a drop in the ocean to them and what a great way to pay homage to the people of their home city.

Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears 22nd September

I thought is was the stadium staff affected why weren't they told to stay at home... job sorted. -
It's quite simple really, how can the Diamond's compete with Redcar for example? Multiple revinue streams and comparatively low overheads vs low revinue streams and high rent. The dog track tenant clubs are those struggling most because to pay the extortionate rents the budget for riders is compromised which means they can only sign lower calibre riders that in turn affects the results which is reflected in attendances. It's no fun winning the wooden spoon!

Bears all the way, Poole chickened out on the scheduled date but there's no where to hide now Pirates!! I have heard Charles Wright is taking his XL Kevlars so as he can put Danny King is his pocket -
Please read my response to Fortythirtyeight.... I can't be arsed writing it again

Oh dear 4038, I fear you may need a trip to Spec savers, you obviously didn't read my post correctly. I don't recall making disparaging remarks about the quality of the track preparation or the racing. I was merely pointing out that it appears that it is prepared without the Input of the home riders. I made my assumption due to the fact that unlike you my eyes do not deceive me as I saw members of the team pointing out to Jonathan Swales from the pit wall where they wanted the track altered throughout the meeting. I was pointing out that it would be a good idea to have the track to their liking before racing commenced and not during the proceedings. As for a home track advantage, I think it's rather essential when almost every other team enjoy it especially Leicester who only grade the inside line and they were the opposition after all. Finally let's discuss Newcastle and their home advantage.... did Jonathan Swales ever curate their track?, I don't know, you tell me
-
Redcar really do need to sort the track out before heat one, it is so obvious to home supporters that the track preparation is affecting the teams performances, it's akin to scoring own goal every match. Right now the home advantage is virtually non existent and even Jake Allen took to the centre green last night to have a dig about it. I think Jamie Swales prepares a great looking racing surface but I wonder if the team have any input beforehand, last night we were treated a wonder wheel extravaganza throughout the meeting that eventually altered the racing line just in time to salvation point
-
Wouldn't it be great if Rob Grant and Roy Clarke could set their differences aside so as Roy can make the last meeting as center green announcer, who knows it could set in motion a reunification of the Diamond's fan base that will be essential if saviour comes along. Also what about the Discovery channel or Amazon Prime? Can you imagine the likes of Ant and Dec joining forces with one one them to create a reality TV show in the same way the former Man U players did with Salford FC? What greatness could the whole sport achieve
