Be great for all teams to be equal but it's probably down to money. Sorry to be ignorant but know little about sunny but do you think they could attract big name riders don't wish to sound whatever but Lawson well hope not ,Nicholls, our new boy Cairns etc or are your promoters just happy to run every year and support speedway.

Excellent post say it as it is. The Ford's love Poole speedway and it's run as a very successful business. People can slate the track or whatever but why do riders go to Poole because they win trophies however it's not important as I have been told on here a few years ago but it is if your a rider so is getting paid on time and Poole meets that criterior. Anyhow off me soapbox back to the San Miguel.

Excellent post mate that's what happened while it was gate and go at Poole and unless Glasgow riders have been in a cupboard they should have set their bikes up for that it's no secret is it

Lost interest in this site a while ago to many negative comments and personal attacks on forum members but tonight just thought I'd give an honest opinion from an unblinkered Poole fan of the Geoff Mudge/Pete Smith era, Poole are far from washed up we win titles fact, we build winning teams fact and riders want to ride at Wimborne Road fact however I'm not blinkered to realise the track tonight and maybe some other nights was not conducive to exciting racing it wasn't and Poole are not going to roll out the red carpet for Harris to enjoy himself no chance so the track was prepared as requested as I assume by the home riders, personally I must admit it wasn't entertaining gate and go isn't however surely it's no secret Wimborne Road is unfortunately this season prepared that way so visiting teams don't need a track walk but just set your bike up to whizz away from the start and bingo but with that being said and all the missiles thrown at Poole they are one meeting away from being champions again by being entertaining all season maybe not especially at home but if Glasgow roll out the red carpet of a track in the second leg then who knows. Poole are successful yes seaside town does help but and you can't argue but some will the Ford's are top promoters end of unless you dislike Poole and many do but that goes with winning just ask man city fans

Sorry but what a daft comment seems like your saying let's sacrifice the lesser riders in the team because they are expendable how soppy is that.Heat 15 should be your star riders everyone looked forward to the turbo twins every week because they put bums on seats even if Poole were out of site and it gives the oppos top ones a chance to lower the big guns flags. I joined this site to exchange comment and banter with fellow speedway supporters but sadly while there are some good people on here with the same idea there are many who just want to antagonize and make stupid comments how sad you are.Time to maybe give this site a miss now.Just maybe use this site for some friendly banter not personal attacks and realize we are all speedway fans some longer than others.

Poole just have that something about them that makes them better than everybody else that's why many people on here don't like them.You can all moan about so called dodgy tactics,poor track,certain contributors annoy people the list goes on but you can't deny the Ford's just build better teams fact, maybe they pay more points money I don't know and if people were truly honest you would all love your teams to be as successful as Poole. I have said many times I wish all teams were equal and you would get better racing I recall years ago the SCB or whatever it was called then decided where certain riders had to ride I think Barry Briggs was told he had to ride at a certain team maybe Hull but not sure still there you have it the chap saying Poole get smashed and Kerr gets not much well look at the result and despite early reservations he is delivering as is the new kid on the block I'm sure he'll get lots of guest bookings like Andersen and Ciegelski did a few years ago.

No can't have that.I'm happy to say it can be iffy sometimes but if you saw Harris v Doyle a few years ago and the Turbo Twins many heat 15 tussles it not always iffy if it was then why do the star riders we've had over the years come to Poole (Rikaardson,Crump etc )

Steve,you seen to be a chap in the know probably been watching Poole as long as I have Mudge,Fossengen Broadbelt era so can you explain why some weeks over many years the track is bumpy with holes appearing in different places giving fuel to all the Poole haters to have a dig. I must say I know nothing about track prep but it seems a constant thing at Wimborne Road every so often the track is poor can't deny it so do we have cheap shale,poor equipment or a man sitting on a tractor who thinks he's harvesting wheat and not laying a speedway track or does anybody else know proper replies only please.

Like when I was a teenager every Wednesday Poole Pirates at home big advert in the Echo those were the days ( Mary Hopkin ) White City Gordon Kennett, Belle Vue Collins and Morton, Exeter Ivan Mauger etc etc yes those were the days ........

Agree British speedway is on its backside such a shame when I can remember going to watch Poole at White City,Wimbledon etc but must say I've no time for Tai Woffinden may be a nice chap but didn't help British speedway when he run away to Poland years ago giving up riding here as I'm sure many on here will remember.

Never prepared a track but surely the curator would do what the riders ask these blokes are professional how can the track catch them out as for Starke he is a journeyman tries but never set the world on fire I agree with others Foord would have been a better bet but did I read his dad was a bit inebriated and had issues with Oxford fans in the final that's why he's been let go as for Kerr the jury is still out when you ride for Poole you need to hit the ground running let's give him time if he has new engines then he wants to succeed but he needs to start scoring more points otherwise ..........

Not bored with constantly winning but must say watched matches at Wimborne Road and it has been not all but some with not much passing so surely if you are seeing something which I assume that you are alluding to home meetings being gate and go why dont the visiting team riders set up their bikes to counteract this if you see it why don't they ? but I suppose I would ask who tells the track curator what surface to prepare ie in cricket green top etc

Just for clarity and your statement implies you have your opinion of Poole speedway if this was the case and you are saying this is why they win a lot of trophies why dont all the promoters follow your lead then other teams of what you believe is true would be very successful who is your team ? you don't say on your name.Speedway is a yearly competition what changes every year good or bad teams are built to entertain and make all involved a living.Poole along with others just run a team each year and if other teams or people run an NDL team good for them it's up to whatever level people spend their money so if some teams just take a rider from a junior side that's what they do,vultures will always there not just Poole but maybe they know which carrion to plunder.

Nor am I ,I said somewhere on here earlier in the year about Starke being not good enough anymore and was shot down so unless he has new rockets for engines he is not going to improve much at all letting Foord go seems ridiculous now but I don't run Poole speedway just a fan and I have always thought the Ford's get team building right mostly but this signing well let's wait and see

Big boys come calling you don't say no as good chance of being in a winning team

A stadium inferior to Poole,a track maybe better than Poole,a promotion clearly no where near as good as Poole ( trophies titles ) and supporters who turn up in more numbers at Poole, why have a go at Poole, don't label all Poole supporters with the same brush as I have no axe to grind with any club supporters and I have said before I wish all teams were the same would make all matches closer.Why can't your team attract better riders the Italian bloke is no no1 and Barker is no no 5 is it down to money or location you seem pretty knowledgeable why are Plymouth never challenging for trophies ?

When you sign for Poole you improve well most do look what it done for Brennan although I know little about Kerr but the Ford's don't get much wrong so expect him to be an excellent signing he must over the moon to be given this opportunity and be in the same side as his mate

Couple of questions for the in the know people on here,who is cairns I don't follow Junior speedway and how do the contributors on here know who's signing/I know the team for next season ? Do the promoters leak things on purpose or do people actually know and don't keep it to themselves.As for Poole next season hopefully not Starke over Foord obvious reason and I'm sure the Ford's will pull a rabbit out the hat like Thomson this year.

This might be a silly question but do guest's get more ? Or do they earn the same per point as the rider they replace must say never thought about it before your post.

Didn't he get a lot of negative comments by some when he was signed,don't he done to badly as Poole have won all 3 trophies well almost

You can only race against the riders in the opposition be it 1-7 or guests not the fault of Poole if opposition are not at full strength.Another top Poole team that will be disbanded to be rebuilt by the Ford's pity we can't rejoin the top league add the Holders,Kurtz and Janowski or a permutation of and we wouldn't do to badly but probably a pipe dream,still we've still got a team well next season at least.
