  1. Just found this Speedway Forum post from @norbold regarding the ill-fated 2002 Wimbledon revival and its promoters: It was definitely Dave Cro ucher and Steve Ribbons who were behind the Wimbledon revival. They commissioned my book "Two Wimbldeon Legends" to launch on opening night. I offered to do it for nothing as long as they paid the printing costs, which they agreed. When I gave them the invoice from the printers, they both said I should speak to the other one about it and both denied ever making the agreement. In fact they both made it as I met both of them to talk about it. It took me over a year and various threats of legal action to get anything out of them and even then it only amounted to some of the cash and a number of complimentary copies of the book. Oh yes, it was those two all right. I'm not likely to forget it!
  2. I would never risk loaning injured riders' money from the SRBF to a certain character involved in this grift. Especially one who doesn't know Colin Ackroyd from Paul Ackroyd.
  3. That's a hell of a line-up for a club's individual meeting. Considering that Belle Vue have 2 GPs, they now have all of the 3 strongest meetings in Britain 2025.
  4. So first you claim they don't need to pay up the contract, now you claim they have paid up the contract. Confused much? Okayyyyyyyyy champ.
  5. Read my post again. As I said, I can have a mobile phone contract, and never make a phone call. I still have to pay up the contract. You were suggesting that if they don't show any meetings, they don't have to pay the contract up. You are wrong.
  6. There's only 1 greyhound stadium in Wales, just north of Cardiff. So if Wales are banning greyhound racing, maybe Phil Morris might like to splash some of his cash and turn it into a speedway stadium?
  7. This one? https://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/news/24945920.charities-praise-big-step-forward-wales-ban-greyhound-racing/ That's Oxford.
  8. Because that's what a contract is. If I take a 2-year mobile phone contract, I still have to pay it even if I never make a phone call. However if I want to switch elsewhere they may give me a bit of discount if I want to pay it off early.
  9. So if they joined the NDT they'd have 5 matches (Birmingham, Leicester, Kent, King's Lynn and Plymouth). They could conceivably invite Belle Vue, Edinburgh, Oxford, Middlesbrough and Scunfield for a challenge. So 5 matches, maybe expandable to 10 matches..... but he wants to run more than once a week? They don't even make their bullsh1t logical.
  10. Yes. More lies from Osborne. He was never serious about "Reading Racino" it was just a distraction to allow him to demolish Reading Speedway. Grosvenor Casinos realised he wasn't serious and went ahead and built their casino in a different part of Reading. If I recall correctly the Gordon Brown thing was about relaxing gambling laws to allow a massive "Super Casino" to be built in either Blackpool or Manchester. When the bid was won by Manchester rather than Blackpool, things cooled off, and Brown decided there were better things to build rather than SuperCasinos. Brown's decision had no effect on Grosvenor Casinos opening a casino in Reading. Neither the pie in the sky Speedway track/Casino, nor the actual Casino that they did build in Reading, and which I believe is still there.
  11. If a reputable builder offered to lay your patio, you might be excited. If it was Fred West, you'd perhaps be a little more worried.
  12. Can someone go down there today and straightforward ask the question "What guarantees are you offering that the current Swindon Abbey stadium won't be demolished until the new stadium is built?" Film their answer on your phone...
  13. Not sure what you're smoking, but it must be strong stuff.
  14. He was also behind a Rye House revival that went t1ts up and had to be bailed out by Len Silver at a considerable financial cost. And also behind the 2002 revival of Wimbledon that also went sour within a few months, as he fell out with his business partner. (Norbold may be able to tell you more. Wonder if Norbold ever got paid?) The aforementioned business partner later got a criminal conviction for fencing laptops and computers stolen from the army. He also recently had a bit of a falling out with the Iwade owners, and as you say there was the "pie in the sky" Norwich showboating, I'd love to see Mildenhall back. One of my favourite places despite the often "unpredictable" track. But I'd be careful who they get into bed with.
  15. Can't see anything crazy in his response. Seems very straightforward and easy to understand.,
  16. My guess of 3 weeks ago wasn't a bad guess then.
  17. Really don't know what you're struggling with. Riders are signed by clubs, and once contracts are signed and a press release is made to confirm the signing, they are added to the club's list of signed riders. Once a club has signed 7 riders, they have to be submitted to BSP Ltd, and ratified as a legal 1-7.
  18. Which one are you suggesting isn't any good?
