  1. Scott would be a great signing on his current form but would his average fit with the averages updating for May? Does Danyon Hume's 25% reduction still apply?
  2. I don't really understand this idea that British speedway could become semi professional or be at a lower championship standard. I feel many won't turn up anymore if there's no Doyle, holder, Bewley or Fricke. As an Ipswich fan I feel I've seen an increase in fans with Doyle coming in and the increase in entertainment he and Sayfutinov have brought is fantastic. They can miss the gate and still make their way to the front with some great passes. Maybe we will have to go to a 5 team league to keep the big names and make sure the top young UK talent we have can keeps developing with the hope Glasgow/Oxford/Poole/Workington make the step up in future. I feel social media is the issue. British Speedway have no TikTok account and whilst the Instagram is better I feel it is more information based so is only interesting for established fans.
  3. I don't really understand why Ipswich have gone for Thompson here, yes I see him as a good talent for the future but surely Kemp would've been a better pick here! Not signing Rowe makes sense as it seems he's more committed to Poland. But Kemp is one of the top 3 rising stars in my opinion and is (or maybe now was) a club asset.
  4. Ben Cook (4.00) and Emil (8.00) would work as the final 2 riders. I like the sound of that team. If Keynan Rew is injured long term could we have Hume (2.99), Craig Cook (5.05) and Emil (8.00)?
  5. Possible complications with the Rew situation could be slowing the process down. I'm fearful these last 2 riders could be a little underwhelming. Hopefully I am wrong
  6. I feel for Keynan, he is such a promising rider and I hope this incident doesn't hurt his career too much as the pictures are not nice. If he is able to recover (hopefully by March 23!) it will have at least taught him a lesson to not race at those sort of tracks in the off season.
  7. This talk of a big hitter from abroad is promising but also confusing at the same time. Let's say we bring in someone on an 8.00 average, that leaves us with 4.27, a perfect slot for Heeps. Bringing in Mountain or Hume makes much more sense but leaves us around 1 point under the limit, I find that to be a lot of average to leave on the table. A possible arguement in favour of Emil coming to Ipswich is him and Doyle are former teamates at Leszno. Could Doyle be using more of his connections to try and get people to Ipswich??
  8. If this happens I absolutely agree but I don't understand why it has failed. Hume, Mountain and Brennan probably had to graduate out of the system sooner rather than later mainly due to age (I personally think it should be just for UK U21 riders only). Although, all should be resigned this year from their performances last year and the 25% drop in average should've ensured this happened. I don't understand why managers haven't seen the advantage of the 1 point drop in Hume and Mountain's averages and signed them? The possible explanation for me is that the 25% drop was a last minute decision at the AGM with no prior warning so most team managers couldn't accommodate these 2 riders as their team was already halfway built.
  9. I wonder if the last 2 spaces could be filled with Zagar and Craig Cook? I feel as if Ipswich (and others) haven't utilised the 25% decrease for rising stars well enough. Hume on 2.99 is a steal and maybe Mountain on 3.30 is even better.
  10. I haven't seen it confirmed yet but I did suspect it was likely Peterborough would keep Basso. Maybe Ellis instead as Sheffield have done a fair amount of team building without announcing him. I like Keynan Rew and he is an option however I feel like someone like Francis Gusts is better for not only for Ipswich but for British Speedway, we're always gonna get Australian riders but attracting young European riders is how the riding talent in the league will grow.
  11. My final team as I suspect we have some rider announcements coming shortly: 1) Doyle 10.32 2) Gusts 4.00 3) Basso 6.81 4) King 6.40 5) Zagar 7.20 6) Hume 3.98 7) Rowe [RS] Overall: 38.71 While this team is definitely exposed at reserve/number 2 I hope Gusts and Rowe will show improvement throughout the year so that come August/September we will have a great shot at the title.
  12. I feel that a few of the younger Latvian, Czech and Danish riders could definitely be brought over to the UK. Polish riders of similar ages are getting chances to race against the best riders in the world with the U21 reserves in the Polish Leagues, with the promise of racing against Doyle, Fricke, Holder and Bewley those non-polish riders might race in the UK. I'm thinking Francis Gusts, Juhl Pedersen, Daniel Klima etc.
  13. How about this team? 1) Doyle 10.32 2) Gusts 4.00 3) King 6.40 4) Riss 6.00 5) Iversen 7.59 6) Ben Cook 4.00 7) Hume 3.98 Overall: 42.29
  14. I really like this team, having a strong top 3 would be great for Ipswich and keeping Doyle is a must for me, he's top class entertainment. I'd make changes at reserve though, Drew Kemp in place of Rowe, although Drew has been very disappointing in 2022 I think everyone knows he's very talented and he has kept working this season despite poor results. I believe with Doyles help and having a home track he knows he could have a great 2023. Also I worry about Rowe, will he disappear off to Poland again and be 'injured' when an Ipswich meeting in on again. Also, possibly Knudsen, Juhl Pedersen or Gusts in place of Starke. However this may be wishful thinking and I'm not sure if their average will be 4.00.
