Championship Pairs - Sep 1st
Bojangles replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good grief! It happened in 1968 but, as said, it can still happen now as it’s listed as 8th in the tiebraking procedure by FIFA themselves. Look up if you don’t believe me - or don’t, and keep arguing. -

It has happened! UEFA Euro 68 - semi-final between Italy and the Soviet Union. Shocking, but true. Can we stop calling it a speedway issue now, however ridiculous it is? -

I don’t know why people are getting stressed about a coin toss. It’s not just a speedway thing! It’s literally done in almost every other sport. In fact, it’s the 8th option (eighth, not 800th) for deciding a tiebreaker in the groups of the FIFA World Cup. The biggest sporting competition in the world. -

What did he say? I’m at the meeting so didn’t hear it -
I find it amazing that somebody would not hand over money to pay for something they enjoy just to make a point. Hate to say it, but it's not going to change just because you stopped going. Enjoy your life, and do the things you enjoy. If there's no speedway in this country in 10/20 years, you'll end up regretting it I'm sure. But each to their own.

Have you seen a kid that literally only turned 16 last week trying to compete with the best riders in this country? He went from NDL racing to competing in the Premiership practically overnight. Give him a break (and some time). P.S: He's also been struggling with bike issues, no?

Oxford vs Plymouth - Champ - 25 Aug
Bojangles replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Easy win for the Cheetahs, but tougher tests to come. Jordan Jenkins was superb, as was Cameron Heeps (again, at home). Ashton Boughen was also pretty impressive on debut with 7+2, albeit against relatively weak opposition. He lost his steel shoe twice (heats 12 and 14), so might have arguably scored more. Certainly looked a little tentative going into the corners in those heats. Don't think this is the first time it's happened to him either! -
Big meeting at the summit of the NDL table. Max Clegg guesting for Dan Thompson, and Ashton Boughen racing against his new employers! Oxford full strength. Both teams likely to make the playoffs, but who will finish top? Oxford won the return fixture 50-39. Lion Cubs: 1. Max Clegg (guest), 2. Ashton Boughen, 3. Max Perry, 4. Max James, 5. Joe Thompson, 6. Vinnie Ford, 7. Tom Spencer Chargers: 1. Jordan Jenkins, 2. Jacob Clouting, 3. Ryan Kinsley, 4. Jody Scott, 5. Henry Atkins, 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jason Garrad Going to be a close one I think. Leicester to win 47-43, but Oxford get the bonus point?

Oxford vs Plymouth - Champ - 25 Aug

Think they were having issues getting enough updaters tonight with all the meetings that were supposed to go ahead. 41-19 after Heat 10 for those that want to know. -
I'm upset.....but only because Oxford didn't think of it first. Ha. Cracking signing, and well done Glasgow. I obviously want Oxford to win, but there's another part of me that wants to see good riders racing speedway, so can't wait if Oxford and Glasgow meet in the playoffs.
-
Oxford have two relatively easy home meetings to come against Edinburgh and Kent - win both of those and they are guaranteed a playoff spot whatever happens. They can't be caught. It's arguably a bit tougher for Leicester as their home meetings are against Oxford, Mildenhall and Workington (and away to Belle Vue). They should still be okay, but would image that's where Belle Vue's (and Mildenhall's) slim chance lies.

Ashton Boughen makes his Cheetahs debut, while Plymouth make a host of changes with Max Perry and Jason Edwards guesting for Dan Thompson and Dan Gilkes. Rider replacement also in operation for Ben Barker. Oxford: 1. Sam Masters, 2. Henry Atkins, 3. Lewis Kerr, 4. Jordan Jenkins, 5. Scott Nicholls, 6. Cameron Heeps, 7. Ashton Boughen Plymouth: 1. Kyle Howarth, 2. Max Perry (G), 3. R/R, 4. Jason Edwards (G), 5. Richie Worrall, 6. James Pearson, 7. Ben Trigger

Oxford's chances of winning at Glasgow were already quite slim, but now.....

How do those sour grapes taste?

Give it a rest. Your posts are pathetic. If you don't like what she's saying, either ignore her or respond to what she's actually saying. Resorting to petty insults like this (and the posts before) makes you look like the one struggling on the brain cell front. -

Bojangles replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Doesn’t matter what you believe. You stated a fact that wasn’t a fact (again). For Glasgow to finish second they will likely have to beat Oxford, and win away at Redcar and Scunthorpe. You presume that will happen? -

Bojangles replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You still haven’t worked out what “in their own hands” means have you? We’ve already explained this isn’t the case, if Oxford win at Glasgow it doesn’t matter what Poole does - they won’t finish top. -
Statement below… Now the news is out and the dust has settled slightly I just want to say how excited I am to be joining the Oxford Cheetahs and back with the guy who I spent most of my early days with last year Peter Schroeck training me the ropes. He believed in me this time last year when I turned 15 and put me in my first speedway race with the Charges. A year on and we are back together but this time with me signing as an asset to Oxford! I know the plan to bring me in for this year are future plans for the years to come but I will give everything for the remainder of this season to try and prove my worth. This is a major move for me with so many other offers I had from championship and premiership teams but I am 100 percent confident I have made the right decision for now and the future! My first meeting is this Friday at Oxford v Plymouth Big thanks to Peter & Jamie for giving me this opportunity

Looking like a big win for Oxford and a busy night for Steve Boxall. Chargers full strength, but the Bullets severely weakened - Ben Tigger always seems to struggle at Cowley. Chargers go top with a win. Chargers: 1. Jordan Jenkins, 2. Jacob Clouting, 3. Ryan Kinsley, 4. Jody Scott, 5. Henry Atkins, 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jason Garrad Bullets: 1. R/R, 2. Jamie Halder, 3. Ben Trigger, 4. Danny Phillips, 5. Steve Boxall, 6. Kieran Douglas, 7. Mason Watson

Line-ups for the Championship Pairs confirmed (although I'm sure there will be some late changes). Disappointing for Oxford fans that there’s no Scott Nicholls, but to be expected I guess with his TV commitments. Lewi Kerr a decent replacement… GLASGOW: Chris Harris & Benjamin Basso POOLE: Richard Lawson & Ben Cook OXFORD: Sam Masters & Lewis Kerr EDINBURGH: Craig Cook & Josh Pickering BIRMINGHAM: Troy Batchelor & Justin Sedgmen BERWICK: Leon Flint & Jye Etheridge SCUNTHORPE: Ryan Douglas & Jake Allen REDCAR: Charles Wright & Danny King PLYMOUTH: Kyle Howarth & Richie Worrall
-
But you’re talking about the Chargers though, it’s not a like for like comparison. Boughen would have been at the Chargers as well as Killeen, not as a replacement.
-
Why? I don’t get how Jenkins being withdrawn tonight makes any difference to Boughen/Killeen. Can you explain?
