Ipswich v Sheffield 20th April
InTheDeepStuff replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
52-38 home win for Ipswich, the Witches should be pumped up after a good win away at Leicester, can’t seen Doyle and Sayfutdinov dropping many if any points, King and Rew had decent ends to Monday night so that should help also with improved scores at home on the horizon for them, Riss or R/R if he/it picks up 6 you’d be happy. Reserves will take points off each other in the meeting but expect Hulme/Thompson to get 5/6 between them both . As for Sheffield everyone knows Holder doesn’t like the track so anything near double figures would be a bonus for the Tigers, no Musielak which is a bummer for them even with an in form Nicholls guesting I can’t see 10+ points and that’s what needed when covering Tobiasz, Ellis has been bang out of form so far this season (no speed) and can’t see that changing at Foxhall where he’s inconsistent at best, Howarth will do his job or 6/7 points, Bellego not ridden there for a few seasons so again if he gets 6/7 that’d be his average, Kerr could be a busy man at reserve if those in top 5 aren’t scoring as for Gilkes it’s just about track time and experience, with the team of 6 above him been set up as they have there’s no pressure on the lad, if he picks points off Thompson/Hulme that’s a bonus -
48-42 win for Plymouth, the 3 leaders from each side (Howarth/Worrall/Barker & Masters/Nicholls/Kerr) all in or around double figures but Starke & Gilkes second string combo should outscore Heeps & Jenkins to nick the win. You’d expect Atkins to get the points at reserve, unsure how Kileen will do around there, just wonder if Turner will get around the 3rd bend, can’t see Trigger troubling the scorers

Leicester vs Ippo KoC QF 2nd Leg 17/04/23
InTheDeepStuff replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No T/S allowed so Doyle/Sayfutdinov can only score a max of 28 between them, the other Witches need to weigh in with some points especially with Rew and Sayfutdinov never riding there before, King needs to come to the party if Ipswich have any chance of an aggregate win -
Leicester vs pboro 13/4/23

If Peterborough were allowed a guest option instead of R/R I think they missed a trick not getting Kyle Howarth in, he might not be on an average near Nicki’s but he’s a track specialists who averaged over 9 points a meeting there last year regularly beating Lawson, Harris etc (can’t beat Morris as were in same team!), could easily have see him pick up 7-10 points tonight -
Stars to win 48-42, Jacobsen could be in for a busy night at reserve, 6/7 rides incoming!!

If this one escapes the weather, can only see a Pirates win. The Gladiators will struggle at reserve berth with the way they’ve set their 1-7 up you’d expect them to only score a point in Ht 2 (when against each other) and not trouble the scorers for the rest of the night. Really think they need to drop either Howarth or Worrall alongside both reserves and try to pack the team so it’s more solid at the bottom end as the tail is far too long -
Peterborough Panthers 2023
InTheDeepStuff replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This definitely depends on how much of a season signing on fee Grudziadz have paid Nicki already and what’s left to be paid with whatever strings are attached. If they’ve paid him say 50% at start of season then when they say ‘sack England’ then he will as no doubt he’s getting nowhere the same for Peterborough in money per meeting -
So Sportowefakty reporting that after Tobiasz’s off earlier today that he’s broken his collarbone, next meetings are 20th, 24th & 27th April, hopefully he’s back sooner than later as he’ll be a big miss in any meeting he’s but fit enough to ride in. If we need a guest then should be some good options who are the right side of the numbers like Sam Masters, NKI, Harris to name a few, sure the boys will be able to cover with R/R at home

Zagar was on a £3k promise at BV last season can’t see him riding over her for anything less than that, will Brady and co part with that amount or go down another avenue untried or not

Sheffield v Lynn 6/4/23
InTheDeepStuff replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Kerr and MPT incident has been brewing since both at Redcar, well when MPT decided he wanted to ride anyway. Yes Kerr closed the door on him but he was in front so has the choice of racing line As for KK what a shambles, even the rides he finished he was a fair way back holding the kerb, you could tell he didn’t like it there, the dirt line was a no go for him and wanted out if there, Kings Lynn need to be on the blower to someone willing to ride for their position not just pick up their wage -

Will KK be in full throttle mode or rolling of onto the first bend in Batchelor mode!!? A lot will depend on him and how Jakobsen rides as he didn’t seem to enjoy his previous visits last season. If Adam Ellis has solved his lack of speed problems from first two meetings then can see something like 53-37 win for Sheffield -
Outcome of this one then (apart from weather winning)? Could the fact that the Kings Lynn boys practice session was rained off help Sheffield who have raced two league meetings already and their riders taken part in sparing (Poland) and individual/challenge matches also? Sheffield had a good record at the Adrian Flux Arena last year with majority of the team going well around the circuit, Kings Lynn have been built solid (not spectacular) and sure as all teams want to get off to a flyer at home, be interesting to see how KK gets on. Can see a Sheffield victory (43-47) if the weather plays ball and the away side ride like they have done on their last few visits

What’s the pre-requisite now for a rider to get a testimonial? Know is used to be 10 years at one club. Is it now 10 years as an asset of one club even if not ridden all the time for them (loaned out) or is it just 10 years riding? Just can’t remember likes of Richie Worrall and Paul Starke for example being associated with just one club

Belle Vue v Sheffield 27 March
InTheDeepStuff replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Both teams ‘carried’ a heat leader last night in Bewley and Ellis, you’d expect both to be up there on the score charts but wasn’t too be, see they both went out after the meeting to test so hopefully both teams see the benefit of that. For Belle Vue thought Blodorn was very solid at #2 not overawed by being in the main body of the team, Lidsey was up there challenging and Kurtz was fast and forceful. As for Sheffield Holder and Musielak did what you want from a #1 and #5, with Bellego supporting them well and Howarth picking up vital points, the key to me though was the points scored by Kerr and Gilkes, you want your Rising Star to take points off the opposition one and Gilkes did that each time they raced each other, with Kerr out scoring Brennan it definitely helped with the win -

Agree with @spin king on this one, wouldn’t be surprised to see something around 53-37. See there’s a tweak in the Sheffield line up moving Bellego and Howarth around for this one which is a good call especially with Ellis struggling for speed last Thursday. -
It’s a strange one with the number 6 spot this year as a lot of good riders down there, some on artificial averages. Just checked Lewis Kerr and with certain matches not counting towards his average in his time at Sheffield (Play offs, League Cup final) his last 10 rolling would be 6.72 (7.54 inc bonus points) if all matches counted, that’s against his actual end of season rolling of 4.71. Like Kings Lynn with their compact second strings I can see Kerr, Howarth and Bellego all possibly having stints at number 6 during the season, think most teams will see movement between 2/4/6 especially once riders have bedded in and received an actual average for this season

Not trying to be edgy just my opinion, Doyle was far and out the best rider in the league last year and can’t see why this year will change that (maybe Bewley will push him) and love watching Emil, I’m just hoping for his and Ipswich’s sake that Poland/Torun don’t start throwing their weight about making him miss any UK meetings for their ‘training’ sessions and other nonsense, the Ekstraliga teams are very precious about their own and they’ll class Emil as that when they want too, luckily in the leagues below they don’t seem as controlling well that’s how it looked with Musielak last year anyway . The inconsistencies of King and Riss would be my main concern as an Ipswich fan and also Rew will take some time to get going especially after a bad knock and as he’s not rode at many of the UK tracks. Personally just want it to be an exciting league with all 7 teams in with a shout of the play offs

Use Google Chrome to translate From reading this looks like the Poles ain’t happy with any Russian riding on a Polish license doing any other league that Poland, the PZM stating they can block any rider on one of their licenses riding in a foreign league. This could definitely have more legs in it before it’s 100 % that Emil is in the 1-7 https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/1047428/zuzel-polacy-moga-zablokowac-transfer-sajfutdinowa-spore-zamieszanie-wokol-decyz
