O was told by a Clerk of the Course that the PZM have come into line with the SCB on this for the 2026 season.

That is a red herring it is all to do with recovery time. If a mouthguard in rugger can can have an impact sensor in it why can we not have one in a helmet?

Kings Lynn vs Ipswich KOC April 13th 7.30pm
SJA replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The problem is building any team under 37 points for 6 riders with 26.73% of the total used for one rider. -

At no point did I say Fricke was the problem. The problem is his high average and to accommodate it the compromises that have to be made elsewhere to get below the points limit. -
Are they? 7 days minimum in Speedway. 21 days minimum in Rugby Union. And if my understanding is correct 21 days is becoming the standard globally across most sports. Are the concussions in rugby really three times worse than speedway? Or is it more to do with financial consideration in Speedway?

For me its.... 1. Sheffield, I look at their team and wonder how they got it under the points limit - very strong 2. Leicester, if Kemp becomes a 6 point plus rider they will challenge Sheffield 3. Ipswich a solid team that will not loose much at home and pick up bonus points away 4. Belle Vue, unbeatable at home but will struggle on the road 5. Northampton, solid but uninspiring team, cannot believe their heat leaders will stay injury free 6. Kings Lynn just have to compromise on overall strength to get Fricke into the team

What this result show is that Leicester were correct in not signing Fricke. His average is to high for the six man limit below 40 points. As a result they have to run an inexperienced No6 who is going to find it tough at this level. Cooper is a great talent as shown by his paid max at Poole so I hope that riding at 6 does not hurt his confidence. I suspect its going to be another long old season for Lynn fans. -
Rider insurance (or lack thereof)
SJA replied to Dave_minall's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Speaking to an official at Poole he said that the ACU had sent out two emails on this subject but the read receipt was in single digits. This sounds partly like the classic case of trying to blame ignorance which is no legal defence. -
Now it could be just me but does the Rising Star spot appear doomed at Leicester? Go back to the time of Josh Bates and it's not a good track record they have.
-
He dropped what he was asking from Belle Vue to get a ride at Ipswich.
-
Northampton could race away from home to build up a profile in the local media before starting their home fixtures at say either of the May Bank Holidays. That gives them a minimum of 8 weeks to sort everything out.
-
And yet in the last two seasons he is the Lion that has increased his average by the greatest amount in each season.

Time for a new chairperson?
SJA replied to Racin Jason 72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes, there should be change and the Chair needs to be independent so I would put forward Phil Morris. -
Douglas was 5th in last years averages. That makes him an out and out number 1.
-
I see that side as solid and without a tail. With a decent rising star it will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

I think Leicester should be congratulated for their use of social media in the last few weeks. They were the first, if not only club to update their supporters on what their plans were, then they announce the departure of their best rider (with Max confirming this 15 minutes later) but within 12 hours announce the signing of Thompson. Anyone would think they actually have put some thought into how they use social media & have a strategy. If this is the case can other clubs please take note....

If my understanding is correct Chris has received two offers for the club and that he has turned them both down as they don't meet his valuation. If he does not receive another he is willing to close the club down for 2026.
-
He did
-
Correct SD was told it was not necessary.
-
I am pleased he is.... He also mentioned that he asked for an meeting in June to discuss the situation but it was turned down. If the Leicester promotion/management could see the approaching car crash with Birmingham and Oxford not running in the Prem why couldn't the other promoters?

How a one league system could work for 2027 onwards

In my opinion this post has hit the nail on the head with regards to the present situation of British Speedway. -

An there was Kurtz on the front cover of this weeks Star saying he does not have a free weekend to spend in the UK and that applies for most of the riders in Poland. So that also means loosing riders in addition to the SGP starts like Douglas, Becker and Masters at Leicester alone. One division would only work if you stuck to the two fixed race nights without exception and good luck in getting Poole and the clubs that race Friday, Saturday and Sunday to change race nights for the good of the sport. -

For those that make it net profit x 25 is the standard way to value a business.
