Leicester v Sheffield Monday 21st July Live on TV
SJA replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm not saying that. That is why you are unable to use a quote. But well identified that as with 99% of spectators, I have no track prep experience. On TV Masters said the riders were warned if the work took place that they wanted it was likely to make the track worse. This would appear to have been the case. I thought the track staff turned it round quickly. It would appear to me that they have one of the better group of volunteers. Based on visiting all tracks at least once a season for the last three seasons they appear more organised than others. Air fence panels are changed much quicker than elsewhere. And last night again demonstrated their willingness to get the job done with minimum fuss. -

And I have been to the NSS at Easter and the meeting was delayed for longer because the track was a shambles. They bladed all the surface to the outside & piled it up against the airfence. Or maybe both tracks got heavy rain st the wrong time but you obviously know better using your one eye to get a balanced view. -

Well that could be dependant on Sheffield. Looking at the results Leicester are very strong at home recently so its the strength of the other team that would impact on the quality of the meeting. -
I'm amazed that no one ever mentions the new track opening for banger racing in Prestwood, Buckinghamshire as a possible site for speedway. It looks ideal for speedway.

Is It Finally Time For One League?
SJA replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I cannot see how one league can work at the moment as I suspect to keep club like Poole happy it would run on most nights. If this was the case then riders who ride in Poland and I'm not taking about the stars like Doyle, Kurtz, Bewley, Fricke, Holder etc, buy secondary riders like Pickering, Masters, Lawson, Douglas etc would find it almost impossible to rider in the UK. So the alternative is to have fixed race nights but then the issue is clubs like Poole will not like that. So is the realistic proposition Monday Wednesday and Thursday as UK club nights. Obviously it means that you loose some riders who are contracted to rider in Denmark but then with this how happy are Friday and weekend clubs going to be. Maybe the solution is to have two divisions. Prem and Champ only. The Prem anything goes and you have a minimum points limit to build above, then the champ would be at a slightly lower level than this season as the reserve berths would be filled by NDL standard riders like Tom Spencer. -
The fact that my profile image is the scales of justice should say that I only post factual balanced comments. Not opinion. Look at the links I have previously posted. It will take you to Companies House. If you would like me to explain any of the legal terminology then please drop me a private message. (In my previously life I would have charged £825+vat per hour for this service so grab it while you can). lol.
-
Because I have looked at their listing on Companies House. I have previously attached the links so other could be informed.

No rhubarb from me. I only deal in facts. Although I do hold others to account who voice opinion as fact.
-
What happened behind the scenes is laid bare and open on Companies House. So its clear what has happened.
-
No, Im afraid not
-
All I try to do is explain the legal standing, nothing more. Its just a case of most fans do not know where to look to find out the truth. I do go to Workington at least once a season but its one of the harder tracks for me to reach. Now its a later start time I have to factor in a hotel as the meeting now starts after the last train to London departs. 3pm starts mean I could just about make the final train to London and have a day trip.

I'm sorry but legally this is not the case. The business does not exist from the 17th June 2025, as stated at Companies House " Final Gazette dissolved via compulsory strike-off ". Therefore, there is not a company to be "taken on the business as a going". Compulsory strike off means they have debts than are unable to be paid by existing assets.

Leicester Lions vs Oxford Spires - Thu 10th July
SJA replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Really, you have obviously not seen him in the previous two seasons. He finished last year on 9.14, with only Kurtz-9.18 and Doyle-9.36 having higher averages. That I put it to you, with the third highest avg in the league last year, he was already and out and out No 1. -

I think if you have both eyes open you would have thought this for the last three seasons. -
So a new company has been formed yesterday https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/16571367 With a single Director https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/16571367/officers I just hope that when the old company went to the wall on the 17th June https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/04261535 no small local business were owed money that they walked away from.

As Derwent has stated the club is "Bona Vacantia" which means that all assets come under the ownership of The Treasury. This would include rider contracts. So its up to the Treasury to decide how best to make as much money as possible to pay themselves back. So I would suspect they wont let riders guest incase they get injured and then cannot be signed by other clubs. This would apply to both riders on a work permit and those that do not need them.

I think Poole's success comes down to three factors 1) The demographic of the local market. 2) The lack of other professional sport in the area. 3) The support of the regional media 4) The hard work and professionalism of the Owners and Promoter who exploit the above three points to their near maximum.
-
High fiveing the fans, something that happens all the time in Sweden and Poland. Cost nothing, but gets greater interaction with the fans
-
Hold on, doubling up is a red herring as 5 of the Poole team double up one way or another as signed riders or regularly guesting.
-
And there you have hit the nail on the head. However catchment area, disposable income, support from regional media and proximity of other professional sports may have an impact on the above statement.

I don't think that BSN help the situation. I have a season subscription, I am recently retired, and tend to travel by train to meetings. Normally I would jump on an EMT for Sheffield v Leicester tonight but frankly, its feet up on the sofa with a bottle of wine for me. Speaking to other fans they do the same if the don't fancy the opposition, its to cold, to wet or as its been recently to hot to stand under a low metal roof for 2 hours.

Im not so sure of that I suspect that Cairns would not come cheap. However from what I understand he was unlikely to do the Premiership next season. Lets see how he rides for Poole first.
